Ellie was stunned, standing frozen. Memories stirred in her mind— how the Tallis noble family had coerced Leila into a marriage with the Demon King, all in a desperate attempt to resolve the complications of her (Ellie) escaping the unwanted union. Initially, a pang of sympathy for Leila had gripped her heart. But as quickly as it came, it dissipated, and she later completely forgot about Leila. After all, a strange sister paled in comparison to a cherished friend!

She had found herself transported to this alien continent when the body she possessed was twelve years old after an accident. Before this unexpected journey, the relationship between the two twin sisters had been quite harmonious. Yet, mere moments after arriving in this new world and awakening her latent magical abilities, her family whisked her away to an academy. Therefore, her relationship with the Tallis noble family, which had never been particularly strong to begin with, shattered into nothingness.

Ellie had met Leila on a few occasions. With each brief meeting, she found that their values and perspectives were different, resulting in poor communication. Leila, who had been nurtured within the opulent confines of the Tallis noble estate, embodied the virtues of gentleness and vulnerability, exuding the expected traits of noblewomen in this society. Ellie had often advised Leila to venture out into the world, to embrace freedom and independence. However, Leila’s timid nature held her captive, shackling her to the constraints of her upbringing.

Although they looked quite similar, the personalities of the two sisters were as different as night and day. Now, Silas mentioning Leila made Ellie’s expression stiff and uncomfortable. Ellie asked hesitantly, her voice barely above a whisper, "What... did you do... to Leila?"

Silas curled his fingers into tight fists, a visceral reaction bubbling within him. It was perplexing; the mere utterance of Leila’s name ignited a firestorm of emotions in his heart, making it twitch uncontrollably, leaving him almost breathless. He took a deep breath and tried to respond to Ellie with a tone as frigid and cutting as the sharp, icy winds of the Ice Age, "I did not do anything to her. I merely gifted that... fake... to that waste."

Understanding dawned on Ellie in an instant, her voice quaking slightly as she shot back, "Silas, are you insane?! It is not enough that you ruined Andre; you had to humiliate him like this as well? Do you not realize that a magic core is everything to Andre? How could you do this to him? And Leila..." Her words faltered, trailing off into silence. She did not know what to say about her so-called twin sister, who was nothing but a stranger in her eyes, and thus skipped her over. "My marriage to Andre was a façade from start to finish. We had a fake marriage. It was never real. He agreed to it only to help me escape your relentless pursuit."

Ellie felt a surge of emotion that she could no longer contain, and she finally confessed the truth that had been weighing on her heart. In that moment, a wave of regret washed over her as she reflected on her past actions. She wished she had never provoked this stubborn guy at the start. Silas was utterly relentless and, in her eyes, almost certifiably insane; a complete lunatic!

Silas snorted. Only someone like Ellie would believe that Andre was purely innocent and harbored no improper thoughts about her. But anyone with eyes could see what he was thinking at a glance; it was glaringly obvious.

At that moment, the man was somewhat annoyed at having to deal with Ellie, irritation bubbling just beneath the surface. He turned around and fired off his words like arrows, "I do not care whether the marriage is real or fake. Anyway, you are the only one I want to marry." With that decisive proclamation, he turned around and strode away, not even giving Ellie a moment to react before disappearing from her sight.

...

On the other side, Andre, who had already woken up, was forced by Yue Ran to drink medicine. He covered his chest, where the cracked wound was oozing blood, sliding down along the gaps between his fingers.

"Get out..." Andre overturned the porcelain bowl that was handed to him.

The porcelain bowl filled with medicine shattered, and the brown liquid splashed all over the floor.

Yue Ran thought, "It is a good thing that I had just mixed random plants with muddy water, so as not to waste precious money on the overturned liquid medicine."

Yue Ran’s expression remained unchanged. Although she may not break out of character because of the restrictions of this world, she would not tolerate this male supporting character’s bad temper. After all, she loved Silas so much, yet he hurt her again and again. Her patience, which was once as broad as the sea, diminished as a result.

The restriction in this world against acting out of character was as high as 99 percent, which meant there was still a 1 percent chance of breaking the plot. That was why she was not thrown into the dungeon in the Demon King’s castle by Silas at the beginning. It was all because she had shifted the character’s mindset slightly. And now, after being hurt by her beloved and being pushed into another man’s arms by his hands, her temper had become more fiery than before.

"What are you doing?" Yue Ran sneered lightly. "Do you think we have extra herbs to treat your injuries? This medicine was kindly sent by the doctor. He felt sorry for your crippled body, so he did it. So, who do you think you are now? Do you think anyone can tolerate your bad temper at this moment?"

This was a loud mockery.

Andre was so angry that his wounds began to hurt more from hearing her insult his dignity, reminding him that he had become a crippled man.

"Get out... Get out of here!"
