When her hand was grabbed once again by Thomas Fisher and Anthony, Alice Turner felt like she was about to fall apart. Before the two of them could start arguing, she spoke up first: "Jacob! Go find the waiter and get him to open the door for me."

Between the two of them, she picked the one who was easier to talk to.

"I..."

Anthony wanted to refuse, but as soon as he got the "I" out, Alice rolled her eyes at him. He instinctively shut his mouth, glanced at Thomas, and then sulkily went to find the waiter.

"You..."

"What exactly is your relationship with him? Don’t lie to me, I’ll look into it myself."

After Anthony left, Alice was planning to tell Thomas to let go, but before she could get the words out, Thomas cut her off.

This was the second time today that Thomas had asked her this, and this time his tone was even more pressing than before.

A storm was already rising in Alice’s heart, but on the surface she tried her best to stay calm. Still, the flash of panic in her eyes was enough to betray how she was really feeling.

Thomas’s gaze had been fixed on Alice the entire time. He caught that fleeting panic in her eyes with pinpoint accuracy, and it only made him more certain of his suspicions.

"You and that man are not husband and wife at all. As for what your real relationship with him is, I’ll investigate it myself." Seeing that she hadn’t spoken for a long time, he voiced the guess in his heart.

Just then, Anthony and the waiter walked over one behind the other. As he came toward Alice, Anthony waved at her. "Sis! I brought someone over for you!"

Anthony looked like he was trying to claim credit with Alice, staring at her with an eager face, waiting for her praise.

Seeing Anthony and the waiter coming over, Alice felt like she’d just seen her savior and let out a long sigh of relief. "Yeah, I see you."

She had no mind for anything else right now; her head was a complete mess at this moment.

Thomas was standing right next to her, and he felt her reaction instantly. He didn’t say anything, just quietly watched her.

After the waiter opened the door with the room card, he turned and left without a word.

"Don’t follow me, either of you. I want to be alone for a while." Thomas and Anthony were about to follow Alice into the room, but at the doorway their steps were stopped by her.

After stopping the two of them from coming in, she shut the door. Once inside, she didn’t walk further into the room right away. Instead, she leaned against the door, quietly listening to the sounds outside.

She really didn’t feel at ease leaving those two men outside. If she heard anything off about them, she would rush out at once.

Alice stood behind the door listening for a long time, but not a sound came in from outside. She didn’t even hear footsteps. Along with her confusion, worry also grew heavier in her heart.

She pressed up to the peephole and looked out. There was no sign of either man at the door anymore.

When did those two leave? How had she not heard a thing?

Alice pressed her eye to the peephole and looked out again. After confirming that Thomas and Anthony were no longer outside, she finally turned and walked into the room, though she still felt incredibly uneasy.

She hesitated for a moment, then finally dialed Anthony’s number.

"Sis! That annoying little stalker is gone."

The call rang twice before Anthony picked up. As soon as the line connected, he spoke first before Alice could say anything.
