Chapter 1365: Just Assume I’ve Lost My Mind
Autumn York ignored Cedric Fisher’s attempts to stop her and Thomas Fisher’s evasiveness and avoidance. She was still doing her own thing, relentlessly trying to make Athena Linton her daughter-in-law.
But what she didn’t know was the more she did this, the more repulsed Thomas Fisher felt. The harder she pushed, the further he distanced himself from her.
"Mom! Can you stop doing these pointless things?" Autumn York tightened her grip, and whether it was at the company or in his private apartment, Thomas Fisher always saw Autumn’s figure, sometimes even seeing her with Athena Linton together, and he was driven mad by her.
"What pointless things am I doing? I just want to have a daughter-in-law sooner so that I can hold a chubby grandson!" Autumn York was solely focused on having a daughter-in-law as soon as possible so she could hold an adorable grandson. She couldn’t accommodate anything else in her mind and wouldn’t listen to any differing opinions or ideas. She felt like she was possessed.
Thomas Fisher, however, felt extremely resistant. It wasn’t that he opposed getting married and having children, but he rejected the way Autumn pressured him, knowing full well who he was thinking about but still insisting on pressuring him like this.
"Stop pressuring me. If you keep pushing, you won’t even have a son left." Thomas Fisher didn’t say this to scare Autumn York. If she continued to press him this way, he would completely disappear from her view.
At first, Autumn York thought Thomas Fisher was just trying to scare her with harsh words, but she noticed his expression was very serious and solemn, with no hint of joking. She was utterly shocked.
She was so stunned it took her a long time to recover, and once she did, she angrily raised her hand and smacked him, "You brat! You’re talking to your mom like this for the sake of a woman? I worked so hard to raise you just for you to break my heart?"
Saying he wouldn’t even be her son anymore, how could he say something so heart-stabbing?
"I am your son, but I’m not your puppet. I have my own independent thoughts. Stop trying to impose your ideas on me all the time." Thomas Fisher knew his previous words were inappropriate, but he was currently too angry to admit it, especially since he had his own thoughts and beliefs.
She had always been so controlling of him from a young age. Back then, he was too small to resist, but now that he’s grown, she still wants to control him like when he was a child.
He was a grown man in his thirties; he couldn’t be controlled by his mom anymore. Being controlled like this made him feel very uncomfortable inside.
Autumn York was struck speechless by Thomas Fisher’s words, staring at him, who stood a head taller than her. She suddenly felt old, so old she couldn’t even discipline her son anymore.
"I just want you to hurry and get a wife and have kids. How am I treating you like a puppet? You must be out of your mind." Once she found her voice, she immediately pointed at him and accused.
"Then think of me as out of my mind, but from now on, stop worrying about my affairs. I know what I’m doing." Thomas Fisher retorted unwaveringly, standing firmly in his stance. He wasn’t being petty with his mother; he just couldn’t stand it any longer.
Hearing this, Autumn York’s face darkened, but she didn’t retort back. She merely glared angrily at Thomas Fisher, then turned and left without saying another word.
