Chapter 1392: Sis! You’re Amazing
"Alice Turner’s implications were obvious, and Anthony completely caught on, immediately shouting at her, "Sis! I’m not always the troublemaker who gets into trouble because of my dad."
Though he was shouting, there wasn’t a trace of unhappiness or anger on his face.
"Really?"
Alice looked at Anthony, retorting unkindly.
Upon hearing this, Anthony shook his head repeatedly in denial, "No! No! No!"
He said "no" three times in a row, and the last "no" was loud and emphatic.
"Okay! Enough of this..."
Alice suddenly saw Thomas Fisher driving and catching up to their taxi, driving alongside them.
Anthony sensed her unusualness, followed her gaze, and saw Thomas Fisher driving up beside them.
"Sis! This guy is really persistent, what’s his deal? Provoking me?" Anthony pointed to Thomas Fisher in the car next to them and asked.
Alice rubbed her forehead in frustration. She had experienced how persistent Thomas was five years ago, and she was quite helpless about it.
She thought he might have changed after five years, but she found he seemed even more persistent than before. Even though she had clearly told him earlier that she now had a beloved husband, he still acted this way.
"Driver! Please pull over." Alice didn’t respond to Anthony’s question but instead patted the back of the driver’s seat, asking him to pull over.
The driver had noticed when Thomas’s car was catching up. Only after hearing Alice and Anthony’s conversation did he understand what was going on with the car that had been following them.
He glanced at the luxury car closely following them, then turned on the indicator and pulled over on the side of the road.
Alice paid the fare and got out of the taxi with Anthony. After getting out, she dragged Anthony into a small alley nearby.
Thomas had followed the taxi, not expecting Alice to suddenly get out. By the time he parked, Alice was already out of sight.
Seeing this, he got out and followed down the alley to search. But when he reached a fork in the alley, he didn’t know which direction to pursue.
Thomas stopped at the fork for a moment, then decided to follow the eastern path. However, what he didn’t know was that Alice and Anthony hadn’t chosen either direction, but instead hid in a nearby courtyard.
After seeing him walk afar, the two of them came out from the courtyard, went back the way they came, and hailed another taxi to leave.
"Sis! You’re amazing! I almost worship you!" After getting into the car, Anthony gave Alice a thumbs-up in a flattering manner.
Alice wasn’t in the mood to joke with Anthony right now. She reached out and pushed down Anthony’s raised thumb, "I’m starving right now, let’s quickly find a restaurant to eat."
Right now, she was very, very hungry and urgently needed to eat something to replenish her energy, otherwise, she felt she might collapse.
"I’m starving too."
Because of the sudden situation just now, Anthony had almost forgotten about his hunger, but now hearing Alice say she was starving, he started feeling hungry too.
Alice told the driver the name of a restaurant and asked him to take them there.
The restaurant wasn’t too far from there, and after a short ten-minute ride, the taxi took them to the restaurant.
