Chapter 1445: Congratulations to You
Sophia Wood, Lily Turner, and Anthony walked into the living room and saw Thomas Fisher sitting alone. They instinctively turned to look for Alice Turner, but she was nowhere to be found. All three looked at Thomas Fisher.
"Where’s my sister?" Anthony was the first to voice the question on everyone’s mind.
Thomas Fisher, although still feeling awkward around Anthony, found some comfort in Anthony calling Alice his sister. He good-naturedly pointed towards the bathroom, "Your sister went to the bathroom."
Upon hearing this, the three newcomers breathed a sigh of relief.
"Mom! I’m going to check on my sister."
Knowing Alice had gone to the bathroom, Lily Turner quickly informed Sophia Wood and turned around to leave the living room, heading straight for the first-floor bathroom.
Meanwhile, Alice Turner was standing in front of the mirror, lost in thought. She was so engrossed that she didn’t notice Lily Turner pushing the door open and entering.
"Sis! What are you thinking about?" Lily Turner asked gently to avoid startling her daydreaming sister. Her approach was equally gentle.
Despite Lily’s careful approach, Alice was still startled. Once she calmed herself, she turned around to look at Lily, who was now close by, "Do you need to use the bathroom?"
Thinking her sister had come in to use the bathroom, Alice ran her hand through her hair and started to head towards the door.
"I don’t need the bathroom; I came in specifically to find you." Lily Turner reached out and stopped Alice from leaving, looking at her sister before adding, "Sis! Did you say yes to Thomas?"
As she asked, she glanced at Alice’s left hand, and immediately noticed the ring on Alice’s left ring finger.
"You said yes, that’s wonderful!"
Seeing the engagement ring on her sister’s finger, Lily excitedly lifted Alice’s left hand, carefully inspecting the ring with an ever-growing expression of excitement.
Seeing her sister so thrilled, Alice’s lips curled into a happy smile, "Considering how hard he’s worked to find me these past few years, I accepted his proposal."
There was no reluctance in her voice, no trace of embarrassment; she openly shared her joy with her sister.
"Is it really just because Thomas worked so hard to find you?" Seeing her sister’s happiness, Lily felt her own joy swell as she leaned closer with a probing look.
Alice laughed and lightly pushed Lily’s head away, carefully avoiding any harm, "Of course, it’s just because he worked hard to find me."
Having said that, she withdrew her hand from Lily’s grasp and stepped out of the bathroom.
"If Thomas heard you, he’d be heartbroken." Seeing Alice exit the bathroom, Lily quickly followed her, catching up after a few steps, "Sis! Congratulations!"
She knew her sister accepted the proposal out of love; Alice had finally found the man who truly loved her. From the bottom of her heart, Lily was sincerely happy for her sister.
