Anthony just nodded with a faint "mm" in response to Lily Turner’s question, not saying much more. He dared not speak carelessly, fearing that if he said something he shouldn’t, his sister at home would get angry.

"Why are you looking at me like that? Is there something strange on my face?" Being stared at unblinkingly by Thomas, Alice felt a bit embarrassed, raising her hand to touch her cheek. She didn’t feel anything strange on her face.
Seeing her like this, Thomas’s frown relaxed, and a smile tugged at the corners of his mouth, "Mm! There are many, many strange things on your face."
With that, he suddenly leaned closer to her.

Alice raised her hand and pushed the approaching Thomas away, giving him a shy glare. She got up and went to the bathroom.
She had cried so hard earlier, her face was surely covered in tear stains. She must look very disheveled now, she needed to handle it immediately.
Watching her hurried footsteps as she left, Thomas’s smile grew even wider, his eyes filled with joy and happiness.
At this moment, he felt very happy, very fortunate. She had finally put on the engagement ring he had prepared for her a long time ago.
