Chapter 1363: You’re Leaving Just Like That

Because of Autumn York’s comment about needing her daughter’s opinion, Athena Linton’s heart burst with joy. On the surface, she tried to maintain her composure, but she couldn’t control the slight upward curve of her lips, although it wasn’t very obvious.

While Athena Linton was admiring herself in the mirror, Autumn York had already asked the waiter to use her card for payment. When Athena finished, she found out Autumn had already paid when she intended to use her own card.

"Auntie! You..."

"You look particularly beautiful in this dress. I suggest you wear it right away."

Athena Linton opened her mouth to speak, but Autumn York knew what she was about to say. Without waiting for Athena to finish, she spoke up to interrupt her.

Athena originally wanted to say something else, but Autumn York had already turned around and called the waiter to pack Athena’s old clothes. Seeing this, Athena didn’t say anything more and went over to another waiter, asking them to help remove the tags from her clothes.

After buying the clothes, Autumn York and Athena Linton left the store hand in hand. By then, it was close to noon, so they decided to look for a restaurant to have lunch, planning to continue shopping afterward.

"Mom! You and Athena..."

"I happened to run into Athena while shopping, so I brought her along to have a meal here."

At the restaurant entrance, Autumn York and Athena Linton ran into Thomas Fisher coming out of the restaurant. Seeing them together, he was surprised and puzzled, but before he could ask, Autumn intercepted.

Athena Linton, feeling a bit nervous, tightly held Autumn York’s hand. Sensing her nerves, Autumn squeezed her hand back, silently signaling her not to worry.

Thomas Fisher hadn’t thought much of it at first, but Autumn York’s eagerness to explain left him with a big question mark about their chance encounter.

"Well, go on inside to eat. I’m leaving now." He glanced at the two linked arms, then began walking toward the car parked by the roadside.

"You’re just leaving like that?" Autumn York called out to Thomas Fisher who was about to leave, without any sign of consideration. It seemed her son was set on being single forever.

Thomas Fisher stopped, turned back toward the two standing a little distance away, "Of course I leave after eating."

Knowing full well his mother didn’t mean that, he deliberately distorted her meaning.

"But we haven’t eaten yet. You could at least help us find a table." Autumn York looked at her son standing a short distance away, full of expectation, hoping he would listen and join them.

Thomas Fisher saw the hopeful look in Autumn York’s eyes, yet he stood still, unmoving, "There aren’t many diners right now, plenty of empty seats inside. You two can find your own table, I have things to do, so I’ll be off now. Enjoy your meal."

Having said this, he turned and continued toward the roadside, taking large strides this time.

The brat! Clearly, he’s doing this on purpose!

Watching the tall figure striding toward the car, Autumn York gave an exasperated glare. It was only after she saw him get in the car that she turned to look at Athena Linton beside her.

Athena Linton was gazing unblinkingly at Thomas Fisher, her expression intensely focused. She hadn’t even noticed Autumn York turning to look at her, only drawing her gaze away once the car had driven off.

It was then she realized the person beside her was watching her.
