Chapter 1345: Help Him Forget That Girl as Soon as Possible
Over the phone, Autumn York heard the conversation between Easton Holmes and Lily Turner, though the volume varied, making it difficult for her to catch everything at times.
"Hello! Auntie!" After their conversation ended, Easton Holmes’s voice came through clearly from the other end of the line.
Upon hearing this, Autumn York immediately responded: "Auntie is listening, I wanted to ask if you know where Thomas went?"
With her heart constantly worried about her son who had been drinking, she didn’t bother with pleasantries and got straight to the point after responding.
"Thomas said he’s going back to his apartment tonight." This was a casual remark from Thomas Fisher when everyone was still sober, and Easton Holmes remembered it clearly because he teased Thomas a bit at the time.
Learning that Thomas Fisher had returned to his private apartment, Autumn York’s heart gradually settled. Knowing her son was safe, she didn’t plan to continue bothering the person on the other end of the phone.
"Thomas went to his apartment, I know, sorry to bother you, Auntie will hang up now." After apologizing, Autumn York hung up the phone without waiting for a response from the other end.
Hanging up the phone, Autumn York inadvertently tilted her head and saw Cedric Fisher standing at the living room entrance, causing her heart to skip a beat.
"Standing there silently, trying to give me a scare?" She reproachfully addressed the man standing silently at the door, getting up from the sofa with the phone in hand and heading straight out of the living room.
"Don’t pressure him so much in the future, or else our son will move out of this house sooner or later." Cedric Fisher, after waking up and not finding anyone beside him, initially thought Autumn York went to the bathroom. However, realizing the bathroom light wasn’t on, he listened carefully and detected no movement inside.
Perplexed, he sat up and got out of bed to look for her. Upon leaving the bedroom, he noticed the living room lights were on.
He deduced that she was in the living room and walked over. As he reached the living room entrance, he happened to hear her talking on the phone.
Although Cedric Fisher only heard the last few words Autumn York said, he was able to discern the situation and earnestly reminded her.
Autumn York, already filled with discontent and resentment, became even more frustrated when Cedric Fisher chose to criticize her instead of soothing her emotions. Her discontent and resentment flared up, "How am I pressuring him? I did it for his own good, to help him forget that girl quickly and hopefully bring home a wife soon."
Though Autumn York was refuting Cedric Fisher, she was speaking her true thoughts. She was pushing Thomas Fisher so hard to go on blind dates because she wanted to hurry him into marrying someone.
She believed that only by marrying someone could Thomas Fisher completely forget about Alice Turner. That way, even if Alice Turner were to return someday, she wouldn’t have to worry about them getting back together.
"All you’re showing with that statement is that you really don’t understand our son." Cedric Fisher sighed and continued, "Our son is single-minded; once he’s set on something, it’s not easy for anyone to change his mind."
Cedric knew his son very well. Because he understood what kind of person his son was, he didn’t join his wife in pressuring their son to go on blind dates.
