Chapter 1434: Make Sure Sis Waits for Me
Alice Turner spoke casually, but Sophia Wood didn’t feel relaxed at all listening to her. She’s not someone who would randomly go with someone she barely knows; it’s not her style at all.
How did she meet this young man? What is the actual relationship between them? Why is she going with him to Derry Kingdom?
After Alice’s explanation, Sophia’s doubts increased even more, and with them, her worries arose.
"Lily doesn’t know you’re back yet, right? I’ll call Lily and tell her you’ve returned. She’s been talking about when you would come back." Unable to ask herself, she knew her younger daughter would surely find out, as the two sisters share everything without reservation.
Sophia spoke while already reaching for the phone on the coffee table. Without waiting for Alice’s response, she proactively dialed Lily Turner’s number.
Alice said nothing, just quietly watched Sophia call Lily. She really missed her sister, deeply missed her.
"Lily! Your sister is back, hurry and..."
"Mom! Who did you say is back? Say it again." Lily interrupted before Sophia could finish her sentence. Lily heard Sophia’s words clearly, but she was too shocked and too excited to truly believe what she just heard.
Sophia completely understood Lily’s excitement and patiently repeated what she had just said, "Your sister is back, you’d better come home quickly."
This time she finished her words and didn’t hang up the phone, but quietly listened to the sounds from the other end.
"Really? Is it true? Has my sister really returned?" Lily was extremely excited, still hardly daring to believe that Alice was really back.
Sophia firmly confirmed, "It is true! Your sister really came back."
It’s no wonder the girl couldn’t believe it. Even she had seen Alice herself and was still in disbelief, let alone the girl just hearing it from the phone.
"I’ll come back at once, make sure my sister waits for me." After getting Sophia’s confirmation once more, Lily finally felt at ease and hung up the phone first.
Beep!
The beep sound rang in her ear, and Sophia realized Lily had already hung up. She moved the phone away from her ear and looked at Alice sitting next to her, "Lily’s coming shortly."
While Sophia and Lily were on the call, Alice sat beside them, and Lily’s excited, loud voice made the whole conversation clear to her ears.
"Isn’t my little nephew already in kindergarten now?" She had been away for five years, and calculating the time, her little nephew should be four and a half years old now, at which age kids generally attend kindergarten.
"...Right!" Sophia initially didn’t react but then abruptly realized Alice was talking about Lily and Easton Holmes’ child, "Lily and Easton have three children now, one son and two daughters, all three little ones are in kindergarten."
She didn’t know her daughter had already met Thomas Fisher, nor did she know Thomas had told the elder daughter about the younger daughter having three kids.
Alice pretended to be surprised, "Lily is a mother of three? The three babies must be very adorable!"
