Chapter 1407: Can You Wish Me Well?
Ding-dong ding-dong ding-dong!
Alice Turner was jolted awake from her slumber by the urgent doorbell. Rubbing her bleary eyes, she slowly sat up.
Ding-dong ding-dong ding-dong!
She wanted to sit on the couch in a daze for a moment before answering the door, but the person outside didn’t seem to give her that chance.
Alice sighed, got up, and walked towards the door. But just as she was about to reach it, the doorbell rang again, this time accompanied by Anthony’s anxious voice: "Sis! Sis! Sis..."
"Are you summoning a ghost or something?"
Alice quickly took a few steps and opened the door, immediately expressing her displeasure to the person outside.
Anthony, however, didn’t care at all. He rushed in and hugged Alice tightly, "I thought something happened to you. It’s so good you’re okay, I..."
"Something happened to me? Goodness! Can you wish me well for a change?" Before Anthony could finish, Alice interrupted him irritably. It was bad enough that he was banging on her door so early in the morning, and now he was saying things like this. Was she that unlucky?
Anthony looked aggrieved, releasing Alice and complaining, "Why didn’t you answer my calls in the house? What were you doing just now?"
Earlier, after Anthony had freshened up, he called Alice to invite her out for breakfast. However, he called her several times with no answer. Remembering what happened yesterday, his mind leapt to not-so-pleasant scenarios.
"Of course I was sleeping. You called me?" At this point, Alice realized why Anthony had been so anxious about the door, and she suddenly felt a bit ashamed. She had just mistaken his good intentions for bad ones.
Anthony nodded, "I called you several times, but you didn’t pick up. I thought you were troubled..."
As Anthony spoke, he realized he was saying something ominous and quickly stopped, glancing cautiously at Alice.
"Thought I was troubled and did something foolish." Alice finished Anthony’s unsaid words and then chuckled, "I would never do something foolish in this lifetime. I’m not that fragile."
If she were to do anything foolish, she’d have done it five years ago. Why wait till now? Besides, she wasn’t the type to do something foolish. Her endurance was pretty strong.
Anthony agreed, nodding with a smile, "My sister is a tough woman; only dithering foolish women do stupid things."
After saying that, he gave a thumbs-up to a certain someone.
"Stop fooling around here. Go wash up, and I’ll tidy up a bit. Once we’re done, we’ll head out for breakfast." Alice pressed down Anthony’s thumbs-up and instructed him to freshen up, while she also went to do some quick tidying.
"I’ve already washed up. Go get ready quickly; I’ll wait for you on the sofa." Anthony pointed to the sofa in the room, and then went over and plopped down.
Alice didn’t waste any more time, preparing to close the door to wash up. But as she reached to close it, she suddenly saw Thomas Fisher emerging from the room opposite. She was immediately stunned.
Thomas wasn’t surprised by Alice’s reaction at all. Closing his room door, he walked over to her, "Why are you staring? Still not awake?"
Smiling and greeting her as he walked into her room, he seemed in a good mood, much more relaxed compared to the previous day.
