Chapter 1358: She Loves Him, He Doesn’t Love Her 5
The moment their eyes met, both of them froze.
Thomas Fisher was the first to snap out of it. He opened the car door and walked out, calmly heading toward Athena Linton, who was standing at the gate of the yard. He stopped a meter in front of her.
"Why are you here? Looking for me?" He glanced at the gift she was holding before looking up at her.
"I... I came to see Uncle and Auntie." Athena hadn’t expected to bump into Thomas Fisher at the yard gate. Even though she’d prepared beforehand, encountering him in person made her uncontrollably nervous.
Her nervousness was so obvious that it was hard for Thomas Fisher not to notice. He pushed the gate open and stood aside, "Come in."
Guests are always welcome, especially family, and this person was the younger sister of his big brother. He couldn’t just turn her away, that would be unreasonable.
"Oh."
Athena glanced at the man who opened the door for her and walked inside holding the gift.
Thomas Fisher hesitated for a moment before following her in, watching Athena walk ahead with a mind full of questions and bewilderment. When did this girl start liking him? How did he not notice at all?
He might easily dismiss other women, but with this girl, he couldn’t bring himself to be heartlessly decisive. She was such a lovable little sister, and besides, she was his big brother’s sister.
When Autumn York saw Thomas Fisher bringing a young girl inside, who was holding a gift, her heart instantly blossomed like a fireworks display, though she maintained a calm demeanor outwardly, "Thomas! This young lady..."
"This young lady is Easton’s niece, currently working at the company. She wanted to see what the mayor of Flame City and his wife look like." Autumn York started speaking, and Thomas Fisher immediately knew she had misunderstood and cut in quickly before she could say the rest.
After explaining who Athena Linton was, he introduced his mother to Athena, "This is the mayor’s wife, and also my mom."
His tone and demeanor were quite roguishly casual.
"Hello, Auntie!" Meeting Thomas Fisher’s mother for the first time, Athena was very nervous, but she didn’t forget to greet.
Upon hearing her son’s introduction, Autumn York’s internal fireworks momentarily lost their luster, but then immediately flared up again, a bright smile spreading across her face, "Hello! Please come in and have a seat."
With that, she raised her hand, making a gesture to invite Athena inside.
"Thank you, Auntie." Athena thanked her and walked into the living room clutching her gift.
Once Athena had entered, Autumn York promptly followed, "Child! Don’t be so nervous, feel free here as if it were your own home."
She sped up to catch up with the person walking ahead.
Seeing his mom being so enthusiastic, Thomas Fisher felt a headache coming on. He had already explained that this girl was his big brother’s sister, but his mom was still acting that way.
Could it be his mom’s old habits kicking in again? If so, he would be in trouble.
This girl really liked him, unlike those fake things with Ann.
"Aren’t you coming in? Planning to stand there as a guardian?" Seeing Thomas Fisher standing at the door, staring blankly, Autumn York waved him over.
