Easton Holmes’ words suddenly enlightened Athena Linton. She found a new way out last night. From now on, she wouldn’t wait at the company to meet Thomas Fisher; she’d go directly to his home, convinced that she could see him there.

She hadn’t seen him for so long and missed him dearly.

"Aunt! Don’t let Sister Li make dinner for me tonight, I won’t be home to eat." Athena Linton said to Amelia Linton as she finished breakfast and headed out to work.

Before Amelia could respond, Athena darted out of the house, worried that someone might chase her out and ask questions, she ran out of the compound.

Due to her plans to visit the Fisher Family after work, Athena Linton appeared distracted throughout the day at work. When she was typing a document, she made several mistakes. If her colleague sitting next to her hadn’t noticed, it could have been a major blunder.

Whew!

After correcting the errors, she quietly let out a long breath.

Athena Linton was tormented the whole day, her heart and mind constantly occupied with thoughts of going to the Fisher Family, while simultaneously worrying that her inattentiveness could hinder her work.

In this state of torment, she finally made it to the end of the workday.

As soon as work ended, Athena grabbed her bag and dashed out of the office. After leaving the company, she didn’t immediately hail a cab to the Fisher Family home but instead went to a nearby gift shop.

It’s her first visit to the Fisher Family, and she absolutely couldn’t go empty-handed; she had to bring gifts. That way, she could make a good impression on his parents.

At the gift shop, Athena picked out a decorative necklace for Thomas Fisher’s mom and a belt for his dad. Looking at the beautifully wrapped gifts, a radiant smile appeared on her face.

With gifts in hand, Athena took a cab straight to the Fisher Family home. On the way there, she felt a special kind of apprehension and nervousness, one she had never experienced before.

Over forty minutes later, the taxi brought her to her destination.

Looking at the house outside the car window, Athena suddenly started to hesitate, lingering with no intention of getting out of the car.

"Miss! You’ve arrived!" The taxi driver tilted his head and reminded her, seeing she was sitting in the car without getting out.

Athena Linton was well aware she had arrived; she was just suddenly afraid, scared to go.

Seeing that she neither responded nor showed any intention of getting out, the taxi driver spoke up again, this time raising his voice, "Miss! I need to pick up other passengers."

If he weren’t worried about receiving a complaint, the driver would have loved to pull Athena out of the car himself.

"Sorry, I’ll get out right now."

After being gently urged by the driver once more, Athena didn’t want to continue hiding in the car like an ostrich. She paid the fare and stepped out with her freshly purchased gifts.

Getting out of the car didn’t mean she had mustered the courage to go in.

She held the gifts tightly, standing at the gate of the Fisher Family’s villa, peering in. Because she was quite a distance from the house, she couldn’t see anything.

The less she could see, the stronger the tension became within her.

While Athena was hesitating at the gate, Thomas Fisher drove over. From afar, he noticed someone crouching at his gate.

Due to the distance and the evening darkness, he couldn’t clearly see who was at his gate. However, the person’s silhouette seemed familiar.

As he drove closer, he finally saw who was at his gate. But it was too late to turn the car around and leave; she turned her gaze towards him.
