Chapter 1381: Don’t Make a Fuss in the Middle of the Night
Upon hearing Thomas Fisher’s question, Benjamin Shaw paused his action of drying his hair, but soon he returned to normal, "Is your company interested too?"
He inferred this meaning from Thomas Fisher’s tone and words, and he asked just to hear the other side admit it directly.
"Yes." Thomas Fisher was also a smart person; upon hearing this, he immediately understood that Benjamin Shaw would be his competitor this time, "I didn’t expect you to be interested in this too."
He truly hadn’t expected it, not as a polite remark, and certainly not to complain about anything to the other side.
"I didn’t expect it either."
Not only did Thomas Fisher not expect it, Benjamin Shaw also didn’t; if not for Thomas Fisher’s call, he wouldn’t have known about the situation at all.
Neither side had expected this, but neither was keeping any facts from the other; they genuinely didn’t know.
"Since both of our companies are interested, let’s have a fair competition."
"Agreed!"
Benjamin Shaw was the first to propose the idea of a fair competition, and Thomas Fisher immediately responded to it. They were long-time good buddies and didn’t want to cause any unpleasantness over this matter; both had such thoughts in their minds.
Because of this matter, it’s likely that Benjamin Shaw and Thomas Fisher won’t sleep well tonight, yet neither of them had expected that someone else would be even more restless than the two of them—none other than the person who frequently occupied their thoughts, Alice Turner.
Alice Turner stood at the floor-to-ceiling window of the hotel room, overlooking downstairs. Although it was already past midnight, pedestrians could still be seen coming and going on the streets, and vehicles moving back and forth on the roads.
This city had become more beautiful and more developed than when she left five years ago.
Looking at this city she was incredibly familiar with, Alice Turner felt a mix of emotions. She had no hint of sleepiness, her hand holding her phone, thumb rubbing back and forth on the screen.
Ding dong! Ding dong! Ding dong!
The doorbell suddenly rang, and Alice Turner withdrew her gaze from the window, slowly turning to look at the door. She just stared at the door and had no intention of walking over to open it, nor did she plan to ask who was outside.
Ding dong ding dong ding dong!
After waiting for a long time without anyone inside opening the door, the person outside became anxious, and the doorbell became particularly urgent.
Alice Turner still stood in place, unmoving, unaffected by the person’s urgency outside. Her eyes remained fixed on the door.
"Honey! Hurry up and open the door, otherwise I’ll ask the waiter to open it."
Upon hearing the voice from outside coming in, Alice Turner rubbed her forehead in frustration, but she still showed no intention of going to open the door. However, she didn’t remain silent; she shouted to the person outside: "Don’t mess around in the middle of the night, go back to your own room."
She wasn’t afraid of the person outside calling the waiter to open the door; her only concern was disturbing other guests in the rooms nearby, which wouldn’t be good.
"Sleeping alone is too lonely; you have to accompany me." The person outside showed no intent of leaving voluntarily, and upon hearing the response from inside, suddenly became excited.
Just as Alice Turner was about to call out again for the person outside to return to their room, she suddenly heard the voice of a waiter speaking outside: "Sir! Hello! Is there anything you need help with?"
