Chapter 1339: I Don’t Even Know What to Say About You
The mother and son on both ends of the phone were both very stubborn, and their attitudes were particularly firm at this time, leading to a deadlock atmosphere.
Autumn York didn’t say what the matter was, and Thomas Fisher didn’t hang up the phone. The two just stayed quietly like that, both seemingly waiting for the other to compromise.
But even after a long stalemate, there was still no sign of either side willing to compromise.
Just when the mother and son were at an impasse, Ryan Taylor came out of the private room. Seeing Thomas Fisher standing there dazedly with the phone, he thought something had happened and quickly walked over to Thomas Fisher. "Who was on the phone? Is everything okay?"
As he got closer, he noticed that his good friend’s face didn’t look too good, and he couldn’t help but feel worried.
Hearing Ryan Taylor’s voice, Thomas Fisher quickly collected his thoughts and just turned his head to look at Ryan, who was already standing in front of him, without responding to him.
"Mom! We’ll talk when I get back, I can’t leave now." He said this to his mom on the phone, and regardless of his mother’s reaction, he immediately hung up the phone.
"Did Auntie need something from you? If it’s an emergency, you should go back. We can have drinks another time." From Thomas Fisher’s words earlier, Ryan Taylor understood that Thomas was on the phone with Autumn York. Though he didn’t know exactly what had happened, he could tell that Thomas was a bit annoyed.
Thomas Fisher shook his head: "It’s nothing. She found out that I’m pretending to be in a relationship with Kiki."
He put away his phone and turned to walk back to the private room where they were staying.
"What did you say? Auntie found out about you and Kiki pretending to be a couple? How did she find out?" Seeing Thomas Fisher walking towards the private room, Ryan Taylor immediately followed him, asking the question as he went.
Thomas Fisher didn’t even turn his head, but that didn’t stop him from replying to his second brother who was following him. "I don’t know how my mom found out, but she did. She just called to tell me to go back for a scolding."
He had dealt with his mom for thirty-two years and knew very well what kind of person she was.
"I knew there’d come a day when this would be exposed. You!" Ryan Taylor pointed at Thomas Fisher with a look of frustration. "Kiki’s being ridiculous, and you follow her nonsense. I don’t even know what to say to you."
Now that a good friend’s mom knew, it wouldn’t be long before his mom found out too. He could already hear his own mother scolding his sister.
The situation had ended up like this, which was not what Thomas Fisher wanted to see. He only wanted to avoid those meaningless blind dates, but he didn’t expect it to be exposed so soon.
He now deeply regretted his decision at the time. Not only did he fail to deceive his own mother, but he also implicated his sister Kiki.
"Auntie wouldn’t be angry enough to kick Kiki out, would she?" Having been a mischievous kid for as long as he could remember, he was used to getting scolded by his own mom.
But his sister Kiki was different. She’d been spoiled by her family since she was a child. If this incident caused any unpleasantness, he’d feel guilty.
"My mom might scold my sister a bit, but kicking her out of the house would never happen in this lifetime." Ryan Taylor had watched his mother shower his sister with love all these years. While most moms favor their sons, his mom favored his sister.
