Chapter 1340: You Can’t Set Me Up Like This
Upon hearing Ryan Taylor say that Evelyn Taylor wouldn’t be kicked out of the house at this moment, Thomas Fisher exhaled a deep breath of relief, now he only needed to deal with his mother’s scolding when he got back home.
"Let’s go in."
Ryan gave a glance at Thomas and took the lead heading towards the private room.
Seeing his second brother heading towards the private room, Thomas quickly followed. When the two entered the living room, Easton Holmes and Benjamin Shaw were chatting about something. Upon seeing them come in, Easton and Benjamin instinctively stopped their conversation.
"Whose call lasted so long? Did something happen that we don’t know about?" Worried that Lily Turner might get jealous, Easton had deleted Evelyn Taylor’s contact from his messaging app, unaware of the fake dating between Thomas and Evelyn. However, Easton guessed something was up from Thomas’s secretive phone call behavior.
Thomas shook his head repeatedly, "Nothing happened, don’t jump to conclusions."
Whoa! This is definitely something that can’t be known by his eldest brother. If big brother finds out, he will surely tell sister-in-law, and things won’t go well for Thomas.
"Really?"
Easton’s tone rose sharply, and at that point, he was already a hundred percent sure that something was going on with Thomas.
Before Thomas could say anything, Ryan, who walked ahead of him, spoke up first, "It was Auntie Ye calling, about Thomas going back to discuss tomorrow’s blind date."
He had anticipated this situation before entering, so he prepared in advance. When he responded, he was calm and very natural.
Hearing his second brother say that, Thomas internally gave a thumbs up to his second brother. When his big brother asked earlier, he genuinely didn’t know how to respond. Luckily, his second brother proactively and enthusiastically helped him, or else he’d be in trouble.
"A blind date is just a blind date, what’s there to hide from?" Easton looked at Ryan, then at Thomas, staring unblinkingly at Thomas as he spoke.
Upon hearing this, Thomas blurted out, "I’m just worried you’ll tell sister-in-law."
While speaking, he walked over to sit in his previous spot, seizing the opportunity to avoid his big brother’s scrutinizing gaze.
"What do you take your big brother for? Your big brother wouldn’t..."
"I will tell my wife."
Ryan was trying to speak up for Thomas, but before he could finish, Easton interrupted him. Ryan sighed helplessly and went over to sit in the empty spot between Easton and Thomas.
Upon hearing this, Thomas became anxious and leaned forward towards Easton, "Big brother! You can’t set me up like this, I’m already pitiful, please have some pity on me, big brother~"
The last call of "big brother" was quite soul-stirring.
"Can you not be so disgusting? Your trick doesn’t work on me." Easton’s skin crawled with goosebumps as he looked disdainfully at Thomas’s pitiful act.
Thomas stood up, bypassed Ryan, and sat beside Easton, reaching out to grab Easton’s arm as he started to whine, "Big brother! Big brother! Big..."
"Shut up, if you don’t shut up, I’ll call my wife right now." Easton raised his arm to break free from the hand holding him, took out his phone from his pocket, and pretended to call Lily Turner.
Seeing this, Thomas quickly snatched the phone from Easton’s hand, "Big brother! I was wrong!"
