Chapter 1341: I’ve Noticed You’re Getting Dumber
Easton Holmes was just trying to scare Thomas Fisher a little, he had no intention of calling Lily Turner, if he truly wanted to make the call, Thomas wouldn’t have been able to snatch the phone so easily.
"Do you think taking my phone solves everything? I’ll tell my wife face-to-face when I go home later." He didn’t intend to stop, continuing to scare his good buddy sitting beside him.
"Bro! You wouldn’t actually throw me under the bus like that, right?" Hearing this, Thomas was utterly stunned; he could snatch the phone but he couldn’t stop his brother from going home, even if he wanted to he couldn’t.
Seeing Thomas looking all pitiful, Easton wanted to laugh out loud, but he held back and continued on his previous course, keeping a straight face and nodding: "I will."
He was already laughing inside, but on the outside, he remained as he was before.
"Bro! You..."
"Your big brother is purposely scaring you; I’ve noticed you’re becoming more foolish now, so foolish you’re turning silly."
Ryan Taylor couldn’t bear it anymore, raised his hand and smacked Thomas on the head, but worried about making his buddy even sillier, he controlled his strength when he did it.
Thomas quickly turned to look at Ryan, sitting on his right, with a face full of surprise, not because the other smacked his head but because of what was just said.
"Second Bro! You’re not teasing me, right?" When it comes to matters involving Alice Turner, Thomas becomes particularly cautious; he doesn’t want to inadvertently complicate or worsen things.
"What do you think?" Ryan replied with a question.
While Thomas was still uncertain, the phone suddenly started buzzing in his hand. Instinctively, he raised it to look; upon seeing "Wife" flashing on the screen, he realized he was holding Easton’s phone.
Easton, sharp-eyed, also noticed it was his wife calling, but he didn’t forcibly grab the phone back. However, he maintained his gentlemanly demeanor, extending his hand to Thomas to request his phone back, "Can you return my phone now?"
While speaking, he kept his head down, looking at his phone.
"Bro! Please don’t say anything reckless, I’m begging you." Thomas didn’t dare drag this out and quickly handed the phone back to Easton, not forgetting to plead with him as he did.
Easton merely glanced at Thomas without saying a word. After answering the phone, he placed it to his ear.
"Daddy! When are you coming home?" As soon as the phone touched his ear, a soft and sweet voice came through.
Hearing his daughter’s adorable voice, Easton’s heart melted, "Daddy will be home in a little while, why aren’t you asleep yet?"
Talking to his daughter, his tone and manner shifted; he was no longer the tough guy but a gentle dad.
Upon hearing Easton’s words, the other three present realized the call wasn’t from Lily Turner, but rather from his child. Seeing his moisture-soaked gentleness, they were certain the person on the other end was his beloved daughter.
"Mommy is bathing my sister; I’m waiting for Mommy and my sister." Rosie Thompson finished her sentence, then lowered her voice and whispered, "Daddy! A big bad wolf came to our house just now."
