Chapter 1342: My Hopes Were All for Nothing
"The big bad wolf?"
Easton Holmes had no idea who the big bad wolf his daughter was talking about might be, but he could tell that his precious daughter didn’t like this person.
However, little Rosie Thompson had no intention of explaining it to him, and what she said next only made him more confused.
"Mm! Mama told me not to tell you, Daddy, so don’t let Mama know I told you this, okay." Rosie’s voice was even lower than before, but it didn’t affect Easton Holmes’ hearing. He didn’t miss a single word and listened clearly.
Just as Easton Holmes was about to ask something else, Rosie hurriedly said, "Daddy! I can’t talk to you anymore, Mama is coming out holding my sister."
"Rosie! Who are you calling?"
Before the call ended, Easton heard Lily Turner asking Rosie that, and thinking of what Rosie had just told him, his brows slightly furrowed.
The observant Ryan Taylor noticed Easton Holmes’ small frown and leaned over to ask, "What did my niece just tell you? Why do you look so worried?"
Because there was some distance between them, he didn’t hear who was on the other end of the line, but it must have been one of his two nieces.
Hearing Ryan say this, Thomas Fisher and Benjamin Shaw only then noticed Easton Holmes frowning after hanging up the phone. They looked at him in confusion, waiting with Ryan for him to give them an answer.
"Rosie just said the big bad wolf came to the house, and also..."
"The big bad wolf?!"
"Who is the big bad wolf?"
Before Easton Holmes could finish his sentence, Thomas Fisher and Benjamin Shaw on either side of him interrupted him in unison.
Ryan Taylor, however, laughed, "My niece has quite an imagination, thinking the big bad wolf came."
"Do you know who the big bad wolf is?" Thomas Fisher withdrew his gaze from Easton Holmes and turned to look at Ryan Taylor on his right.
Easton Holmes couldn’t help but glance at Ryan Taylor as well. He had already guessed a person in his mind, but wasn’t sure if his good friend shared his thought.
Ryan Taylor glanced at Easton Holmes, then turned his gaze to Thomas Fisher beside him, "I don’t know."
He really didn’t know who it was. He laughed earlier just because he thought his little niece was too adorable.
"Why did you react so strongly if you didn’t know? I thought you knew, and got my hopes up for nothing." Thomas Fisher glanced discontentedly at Ryan Taylor, who had let him down, then decisively turned his gaze back to Easton Holmes, "Big brother! You should know, right?"
His second brother didn’t know, but the big brother must know, since it was the big brother’s daughter who said it.
"Haven’t you ever heard the saying, curiosity killed the cat?" Even though Easton Holmes had already locked onto a person in his heart, he wasn’t planning on saying it out loud. It was just his own guess, not certain enough to state for sure, and he couldn’t speak recklessly.
If he guessed wrong, one of his good brothers might get upset, so he’d better not do something so unreliable.
Neither big brother nor second brother spoke, so Thomas Fisher’s hopes were dashed. He wanted to press further, but seeing how determined his two brothers were, he gave up the idea.
"Since Easton and Ryan don’t want to say, let’s just continue drinking," Benjamin Shaw, who had been silent for a long time, spoke up again, bringing everyone back to the topic of drinking.
