Raydor Holy Sword War Journal

25. Pledge of Request

"'I, Raydor Zayn, shall fight to protect the Kingdom of Zayn from the Alsline Empire if I can accept the following conditions'"

…………

Raydor stretches his spine and reads the text written in the affidavit in a harsh tone.

Both Granard and Lockwood hear silently the words that all the nobles present here are spun to flow.

"'Condition one, King Granard shall guarantee Leidor's security within the Kingdom of Zayn'"

"Hmm..."

Hearing the first condition, Granard raised a single eyebrow and laughed with his nose.

In other words, Raydor is wary that Granard will betray himself again. What a cowardly brother.

Granard deepened the color of contempt in his eyes.

"'Condition two, the Royal Palace shall pay support for 100,000 gold coins to Reid, the pioneering city ruled by Reidor'"

"Jiu, 100,000 sheets..."

Leaking a trembling voice was an aristocratic man who accumulates fat in his plenty and belly and sweats on his forehead.

The man, who holds the position of Finance Minister in the Royal Palace, calculates the amount of compensation requested by Raidor, including the Abacus, in his head.

One hundred thousand pieces of gold is equivalent to one billion yen when converted into Japanese yen.

It did not mean that it could never be paid for a country with an enormous wallet called the state budget, but it is still not a cheap amount.

(Not to mention now in wartime. That's a headache considering the post-war reconstruction costs......)

Lockwood sighed in sympathy as he glanced sideways at the Minister of Finance, who was dazzling and sweating.

I sincerely sympathize with my colleagues who are stressed out because of their hard work, but still can't get a help boat out.

A hundred thousand pieces of gold is expensive, but it is not an unreasonable amount to support pioneering cities that continue to protect their southern borders from demons.

Rather, it is more out of logic that the Royal Palace has not so far provided any assistance to the town of adventurers guarding the border.

"'Condition III. All property obtained by Raydor in the war shall be owned by Raydor, although the Royal Palace may not demand its surrender'"

"Hmm...?

Lockwood tilted his neck.

I'm not sure about that. Make the treasures and prisoners you take from the Imperial Army your own. That's a fair and natural right, but I don't see the point in purposefully pushing it as a condition.

(Hey, does Your Highness have any property for the purpose? What the hell is the purpose......)

"'Condition IV. With regard to the prisoners captured by Raydor in the war, Raydor shall have the right to decide on their treatment'"

(Again...... strange terms again. What is His Highness thinking?

Lockwood twists his head without being able to read Raydor's thoughts.

It's seemingly thin that Raydor has a sag that's not a glimmer, but I don't know what the purpose is.

Whatever the support, what is the purpose of demanding property and prisoners?

If you want a reward, why don't you just specify it clearly as a condition?

Lockwood thinking arm in arm. And brother king Granard, who is silently listening to his brother.

Raydor looked at the two faces in turn and breathed again and again.

"And... this is the last condition." Condition V. King Granard shall nominate his brother Raydor as the King Prince, and he shall be the next king. "

"Huh...!

The words froze the air between the eyes.

"Stupid! Do you know what you're talking about?!?"

Lockwood was the first one to scream.

On a daily basis, the nobility around him also realizes once again the seriousness of the situation, as the sober prime minister is disturbed.

King Granard has a son who turns five.

His son, born soon after Raydor was banished to the border, had been nominated as the King Prince, even though he was young, and had also been recognized by his surroundings as what would make him the next king.

The terms Raydor demanded are like leaving the prince and making it clear that he will be the next king.

"It's disrespectful, no matter how much my brother Wang! I can't believe you demanded of yourself a king against the king...!

…………

Lockwood questions, but Raydor is rolling around in his hand, circling parchment with a vow just saying everything he says.

A guttering, deep wrinkle is engraved between the prime minister's eyebrows in such a way that the child is not nervous as to play by hand.

"His Highness Raydor......!

"Raydor."

"Huh...!

It was still Rockwood trying to recruit, but stopping words in Granard's quiet voice.

The Chancellor, looking back, looked at the master's face and drank his gokuri and spit.

"Raydor, are you serious about this?

There is no color of anger in Granard's voice to ask his brother. But no one on this scene would think he was calm.

Granard's face was stained with hatred and killing intentions that he was no longer going to hide.

His face, stark as a ghost from fierce anger, is all distorted by the curse of killing his brother, who stands in front of him.

That would be the case, too.

The condition that Raydor demanded "to make himself the next king" does not really deprive the current Crown Prince of his status.

If the king is deceased, he will be king - and he will take it far away as a declaration of war saying, "I will kill you and I will be king."

"Prince Wang, the next king is my son Strauss! Do you want to turn your time into Prince Wang or something!

The aristocrats on the spot shook up at the declaration released even with the intention of killing.

Granard has been known as an impartial figure since he was formerly acting for the former and king as Regent, a personable man who had many on his side because of the height of his virtues. His attitude toward his brother was irrational, but he was never a narrow figure as a king.

Many people on this scene had never seen Granard possessed by anger emotions like that.

Depending on the response, soldiers may be ordered to kill on this occasion. I can even smell such slaughtered air and my anger hits Raydor.

"Ah, well, then no. Without it."

"Is...?

In response to his brother's anger, Raydor lightly withdrew the terms.
