Raydor Holy Sword War Journal
94. Tiger Hole Snake
A few days after receiving reports of the demise of the Count Calcifer family.
The Leidor army arrived in the town of Cultris, on the territory of the Earl of Calcifer.
It was a cult lis, a fortified city, but now the castle gates are open. Only a minimal number of soldiers are also found on the walls where the Count's flag was raised.
Raydor frowned slightly at the appearance of the town as if it was appealing to the lack of hostility.
"... what do you think? You think that's some kind of trap?
"Well... what do you think"
It was Darren Garst, who was appointed general of the Leidor army, who was hit with questions.
Darren ran his gaze to the left and right of the walls with a sharp eye and said, "Hmm?," he tilted his neck.
"I don't feel hostile... but if you ask me if it's a trap to lure His Highness into town, I can't deny it."
"If you go into a tiger hole, you say so. Well, let's see what Brad Calcifer and the rest of them are thinking."
I have already heard from a secret detective that the Count Calcifer family was exterminated by a coup by his son, Brad Calcifer.
According to the information coming under Raydor, Brad murdered our lords in rebellion during a meeting where the three aristocrats were gathered.
Then he had further dominated the territory of the Baron Kyrgyz and Viscount Kubertos families, killing all but one of the disobedient human and aristocratic survivors.
(... bright handy. Probably been planning and getting ready for quite some time. Definitely, Brad Calcifer is a crook)
The question is whether Brad is a beneficial or dangerous person for Raydor.
The depth of thought, the audacity, that hits the knockout on the occasion here is something that goes with Sven, the military master.
But the disrespect even his own father has in his hands is not very alarming.
Even if Brad vowed to submit to Raydor, he's a man whose parents can betray him. Even about Raydor, who became my lord, I'd cut him off flat if I had to.
"Hey there, well done. You're here!
Raydor creeping through the castle gate. No, a man unfamiliar to him immediately called out.
He has golden hair all back and dressed as if he was going to a party from now on called a black tuxedo. The chest looked strangely out of place decorating even rose flowers.
"... Your Highness, it's Brad."
"... right"
Raydor nodded at Justy Oygist's prophecy.
"Welcome and hard work. Sir Brad Calcifer."
"Ha ha! Thank you very much, Lord Raydor, for your hard work in the distance too! It is a great honor to welcome the royal Zain again to this town, which once belonged to the Empire!
Brad kneels in a playful motion and lowers his head.
Raydor looked down at Brad with a frigid odor, without getting off the horse.
"... I just wanted to check, do you mind if the Count Calcifer family surrenders to our army to see how this goes?
"Whatever. We have no intention of defying the Zain royal family."
"To the royal family, you know..."
Does that simply mean as words say?
Or are you going to be sarcastic but mouthful knowing that Raydor is antithetical to his brother King Granard?
Brad's insides can't be guessed by the first-person Raydor, but it doesn't seem like it's going to be a fight for now.
"Oh, I just want to make one correction"
"Hmm? Say it"
"I'm not Brad Calcifer. And this is not even Count Calcifer's house."
Brad stood up and spread his hands wide. Then the soldiers, who were on the walls surrounding the town, move out in unison.
Suddenly, nervousness ran to the Raidor army on the soldiers who moved out for a few seconds. I was to look up at the walls immediately.
"This town is the Viscount Dolphins. And my name is Brad Illus."
The flag of the Count Calcifer family, which was raised above the walls of the castle, is lowered simultaneously by the hands of the soldiers.
Instead it was a hawk crest with a snake on the blue field cloth. It was the crest of the Viscount Dolphins, who were supposed to have perished in the battle against the Empire.
"I am no longer a person of the Count Calcifer family of traitors. As a man of the Viscount Dolphins, a man of loyalty, let me pledge my allegiance to the Kingdom of Zain."
