RE: LORD OF TIME

Chapter 60: Why Did You Kill Him?

William ran at full speed as if his life depended on it. To increase his chances of escaping safely, he even used Time Acceleration to increase the flow of time around himself and run even faster.

While running, he continuously looked back with Eyes of Insight to see if Richard was chasing after him.

Only after confirming that Richard wasn’t chasing him did he sigh in relief, and his tense nerves relaxed slightly.

He did not run in the direction of his home because he was afraid of bringing trouble back to his family.

Around ten minutes later, he was already far away from the crater’s location and finally slowed down a little, completely concealing his aura to make sure that even if someone was chasing after him, they wouldn’t be able to find him.

’That was dangerous...’ William leaned against a tree and sat down while panting heavily.

’If it wasn’t for the Energy Pool skill of the Blood Moon, I wouldn’t have been able to escape from there after bluffing that guy using the Seven Steps of the Supreme.’

William was still only at the early stage of the Star Warrior Realm, and although the Seven Steps of the Supreme was an extremely powerful skill, he couldn’t bring out its true strength with his current Realm.

If the power released by that supreme figure after taking the first step was like a monstrous tsunami, compared to him, the power William could release after taking the first step was merely a small wave that wouldn’t even harm a child.

The two couldn’t be compared at all.

Because Richard was flying and had been caught off guard, he was slammed into the ground.

But that was all William could do to him. As for actually harming or injuring him, it was almost impossible with his current Realm.

The difference between a Star Warrior and a Star Lord was simply too great.

’It’s a good thing I thoroughly cleaned up the battlefield after killing Lucas. If Richard had somehow found out that I really killed Lucas, he would have definitely chased me down despite my bluff.’

Although Richard might have had some suspicion that William had done something to Lucas, it was still nothing more than suspicion.

He wasn’t certain about it. And getting involved in something that seemed dangerous just because of a suspicion wasn’t a good idea.

William looked inside his Sea of Consciousness and saw Blood Moon floating beside the image of his Sword Dominator Trait.

Since Blood Moon was a Soul Armament and was connected to his soul, he could store it inside his Sea of Consciousness.

Each time he broke through, Blood Moon would be nourished by his Sea of Consciousness and would grow stronger alongside him.

’It’s a good thing Vivian sent Blood Moon to me. If I didn’t have Blood Moon, it would have been much more difficult to kill Lucas and escape safely from Richard.’

After using the Seven Steps of the Supreme earlier, all of his Aether Energy had been exhausted.

It was the Energy Pool ability of Blood Moon that had instantly restored all of his Aether Energy, allowing him to escape safely.

After resting for a while to recover the Aether Energy he had consumed while running, William took Lucas’ storage ring out of his pocket.

Since Lucas was already dead, William simply used a bit of his Mental Energy to erase Lucas’ Mental Mark from the ring before binding it to himself.

"That guy must have a lot of good stuff..." He muttered under his breath as he looked inside the ring.

Instantly, a space comparable in size to the storage space of his earring came into view.

There were many things inside the ring, such as clothes, food, and other daily necessities.

William ignored those items and soon found several useful things.

He took out a small glass bottle filled with a light yellow liquid and looked at it.

===

---) Minor Healing Potion (Rank One): Upon consumption, it can slowly heal most injuries sustained by Star Warrior-level beings and below. The potion’s effectiveness is reduced when consumed by people above the Star Warrior Realm.

====

There were five bottles of Minor Healing Potions inside the ring. Although these potions were only Rank One, they were more than sufficient for Star Warriors.

Other than the Healing Potions, he also found three Minor Stamina Potions that could reduce fatigue upon consumption.

These potions were quite useful to him, as he could use them to recover his stamina after using the Overload ability.

Other than the potions, there were also some pills that he could use to increase his cultivation speed in star warrior realm.

William also found a cultivation technique named Azure Wind Canon inside.

It was the main cultivation technique of Lucas’ family and could be considered a high-grade technique.

However, William didn’t even bother looking through it, as the cultivation technique was completely useless to him.

Although it was useless to him, he didn’t throw it away because he could always give it to someone else in the future.

There was also a low-grade movement-type battle art called Wind Step inside the ring, and William found it quite interesting because, instead of confusing the opponent like Phantom Steps, this battle art focused more on speed.

’I can integrate this battle art with Phantom Steps to increase my movement speed even further...’ William thought as he put Wind Step away as well.

Suddenly, he noticed another book inside the ring and took it out.

He looked at the cover and saw the words Gale Tiger Body Forging Technique written on it.

"A body refining technique..." A look of surprise appeared on William’s face because body refining techniques were extremely rare in the Silver Wing Kingdom.

In fact, not only in the Silver Wing Kingdom, but even throughout the entire Eastern Empire, they were considered incredibly rare.

Body refining techniques were primarily popular in the Klaus Empire, the empire ruled by monsters.

Finding body refining techniques that specialized in strengthening the body within the Eastern Empire was extremely difficult.

Even in the original timeline, William had never seen a single one.

"My current physical strength is my biggest advantage. I was worried that it would gradually fall behind as my cultivation level increased. But with this technique, I can continue strengthening my body as well."

William looked inside the ring again and saw a bottle filled with deep red blood. It was the blood essence of a Gale Tiger and was essential for cultivating the Gale Tiger Body Forging Technique.

William put both items away and searched through the ring once more.

But other than more than two hundred gold coins, he didn’t find anything else.

It was also understandable, as William had already taken Lucas’ Rank Three dagger and the armor he had been wearing.

Similar to the Rank Three dagger, the armor Lucas wore was also made of Starsteel, making it an excellent defensive armor.

William then took out the staff he had obtained from Lucas earlier and looked at its details.

====

---) Amber Wood Staff (Rank Three): Made using the branch of a two-hundred-year-old Amber Tree and a modified Energy Crystal. Skills cast using the Amber Wood Staff receive a 10% increase in power. Because of the modified Energy Crystal, the staff can also detect the energy fluctuations of artifacts and treasures within a ten-meter radius.

====

William raised an eyebrow after reading the staff’s details, as he had initially thought it was merely a tool for searching for artifacts.

But it turned out that it could also amplify the power of skills.

"Although it isn’t of much use to me right now since I only have Eyes of Insight and Time Acceleration, that won’t be the case in the future..." William said as he put the staff away as well.

After confirming that he hadn’t forgotten anything, he stood up to return home.

But just as he was about to leave, a figure covered in a black cloak suddenly appeared before him.

"Why did you kill him?"
