Chapter 61: Eat Him! Eat Him!

"Why did you kill him?"

William’s heart nearly leaped out of his chest when someone suddenly appeared before him.

But the moment he heard the voice, his heart, which had almost jumped out of his mouth, made a U-turn and immediately returned to its original position.

"Since when did you learn to scare people like this?" William spoke in a slightly trembling voice as he patted his chest in relief.

"You did not answer my question..." The figure slowly took off the hood covering their face. "You know that there are many ways to find out who killed him. Then why did you do it?"

Vivian’s black hair flowed down her back as she removed her hood, her crimson eyes looking at William with a frown.

"Don’t worry, I am not that stupid." William smiled slightly and shook his head.

"Since I killed him, I naturally have confidence that no one will be able to find me."

Vivian raised an eyebrow when she heard William’s words, and seeing the confidence on his face, which didn’t seem fake, the frown on her face eased.

"As long as you know what you are doing."

William nodded before asking curiously.

"You were the one who sent Lucas here, right?"

Vivian nodded and spoke calmly.

"Knowing your hatred toward him, I was afraid you would do something impulsive after seeing him at the academy, so I used Mind Suggestion on him to make him come here." She paused before shaking her head.

"I only wanted you to break a few of his bones to vent your anger, but you..." She didn’t finish her sentence and simply shook her head.

William frowned slightly when he heard Vivian’s words and suddenly thought of something he hadn’t considered before.

"I killed that guy... It won’t cause any trouble for you, right?"

Vivian was taken aback when she heard William’s question. But seeing the concern on his face, the corners of her lips curled upward slightly.

"What trouble could they possibly cause me? Not to mention that no one knows I used Mind Suggestion on that guy, even if someone were to find out, what could they do to me?"

There was absolute confidence in Vivian’s voice, as if Count Benlot couldn’t even be considered a problem in her eyes.

When William heard Vivian’s response, he was stunned for a moment before bursting into laughter.

"Your confidence is the same as ever," He said with a shake of his head.

"Confidence comes from strength. As long as you have enough strength, there is nothing wrong with acting confidently all the time."

William nodded at Vivian’s words before asking softly.

"You came here because you were worried about me?"

Vivian paused for a second when she heard William’s question, but quickly recovered and replied in an amused voice.

"What made you think that I came here because I was worried about you?"

"If not because you were worried, then why did you come?" William immediately asked.

"I just came to see whether the sword was working properly or not. You know, it would be very dangerous if there were any problems with your Soul Armament."

"Oh..." William nodded with a smile before taking a step forward.

"Then I should thank you for coming all the way here just to make sure my Soul Armament was working properly, right?"

Vivian’s eyes twitched slightly because even she felt that her hastily made excuse was so poor that it wouldn’t fool even a child.

But it wasn’t as if she could take back what she had just said.

’Wouldn’t this guy laugh at me if I took back my words and admitted that I came because I was worried about him?’ She thought to herself.

Just then, she suddenly felt someone grab both of her hands.

"Thank you..."

She raised her eyes and saw William looking at her sincerely.

"Thank you for always helping me."

Seeing him looking at her so tenderly, Vivian really wanted to take a bite out of his neck, but she desperately held herself back.

’No, Vivian. Not yet. It’s not the right time. You can’t act as clingy as you used to, or things might end up the same as before.’

Taking a deep breath, Vivian gently pulled her hands back and simply nodded without saying anything.

Seeing that she remained silent, William felt slightly awkward.

Trying to change the subject, he thought for a moment before speaking.

"You haven’t fed yet, have you? Do you want to drink some?"

Vivian’s mouth twitched violently when she saw William showing his neck, and to her dismay, she even imagined a tiny Vivian appearing on her left shoulder like a little devil, continuously shouting.

’Eat him! Eat him!’

’Damn, what kind of torture is this?’ She couldn’t help but grumble inwardly before grabbing one of William’s hands.

"I don’t think our current relationship has reached the point where I can drink your blood from there."

As she spoke, she immediately bit down on his hand, feeling that if she didn’t, she would definitely leave a mark on his neck instead.

William scratched the back of his head when he saw this, thinking that she was still angry because of what had happened in the original timeline.

’I will make things better between us once I get to the academy,’ He thought and sighed inwardly.

Vivian didn’t drink much of his blood and pulled away after only a few seconds, a satisfied expression briefly crossing her face before she quickly hid it.

"When will you come to the academy?"

"That overseer told me we would leave within three days. But now that Lucas is dead, he might want to leave this troublesome place as soon as possible."

Vivian nodded before speaking seriously.

"There are a few things that are different at the academy from what you remember. This might be a change caused by your actions."

"Hmm?" William raised an eyebrow in confusion. "What do you mean?"

Vivian shook her head.

"You will understand what I mean once you arrive at the academy."

William looked at Vivian for a few seconds before nodding.

"I will try to get there as soon as possible."

"Hmm..." Vivian nodded before taking Lucas’ storage ring from William’s hand.

"Give me all the artifacts you obtained from that guy. I will modify them slightly so you can use them freely without worrying about anyone tracing their origin."

"Okay." William didn’t refuse and handed over the Rank Three dagger, the armor, and the staff to Vivian.

Once she had taken them, Vivian looked at him one last time before her figure burst into a cloud of crimson mist and disappeared.

"See you at the academy." Her voice reached William’s ears, causing a faint smile to appear on his face.
