RE: LORD OF TIME

Chapter 122: Before The Meeting

Maya came before William and asked without beating around the bush.

"Are you interested in joining the Ebonhart Family?"

William had already expected Maya to ask this question, so he calmly shook his head.

"Thank you for your offer, but I don’t have any plans to join any family or faction."

Maya frowned slightly upon hearing William’s words.

"At least listen to what you will get if you join my family before deciding."

"I appreciate that you think highly of me, but I really don’t plan to join any family."

William still shook his head without any change in expression.

Maya’s expression turned slightly gloomy upon seeing this. She had already been reluctant to invite William after what happened yesterday.

But she had to do so because of her family. When news of William possessing a Legendary Grade Trait and his strength reached her family, they immediately told her to try to recruit him.

In fact, it wasn’t just Maya who received orders from her family.

Edrin, Kevin, and many other nobles had also received the same orders.

They just hadn’t acted for the time being and were waiting for the right opportunity.

"Since you don’t want to join, then suit yourself," Maya snorted, as she wasn’t someone who would beg or lick William’s boots to make him join.

She looked at Liam, who was standing beside William, and asked.

"What about you? Are you interested?"

Although Liam had not shown outstanding power like William, him possessing an Epic Grade Trait was enough to draw the attention of many nobles.

Moreover, since Liam was with William, many people believed that he was also not simple.

"Sorry, I also don’t plan to join any faction for the time being."

Although she had somewhat expected this, being rejected twice still made Maya a bit furious.

She was from one of the Duke Families of the kingdom, a family with immense influence, but here she was being rejected by two damn commoners.

She looked at William and spoke in a voice filled with disdain.

"Although you are strong right now, it won’t be for long. As time passes, many people with more resources than you will eventually surpass you. If you want to maintain your growth, you better think about my offer."

Maya didn’t stay after speaking and left.

William just shook his head at Maya’s words and didn’t take them to heart.

Some students who had been thinking there was a good show to watch were somewhat disappointed when Maya left without doing anything, and they also began to leave.

Edrin and Kevin, who had received the same orders as Maya from their families, thought for a moment and decided not to approach William for now.

Edrin was easy to understand, since he had no intention of talking to William for now. He felt that if he talked to him now, he might just attack him.

Kevin, on the other hand, thought it would be better to wait for some time. Once William realized how difficult it was to improve without sufficient resources, it would be a lot easier to invite him.

Although he wasn’t sure where William had gotten his Soul Armament or that Battle Art he had used against him yesterday, he still felt that it wouldn’t be long before William realized that those things alone were not enough.

Noah, on the other hand, had no plans of inviting William to join his family as those things didn’t matter much to him.

Currently, he was thinking about how to ask William to accompany him to take a look at the student council so that he could invite him to join it.

But before he could even approach William, he saw William himself coming towards him.

"Noah, you were with President Joseph yesterday. Are you already part of the Student Council?"

Noah looked at him and nodded.

"Yes, I joined it right after my registration."

"Great," William smiled and asked. "Can I join the Student Council as well?"

Noah was genuinely surprised, as he didn’t expect William to ask about joining the Student Council on his own.

He had just been wondering how to make William join the Student Council, but his goal was accomplished without him even doing anything.

Thinking of this, he couldn’t help but smile and nodded.

"Of course, you can."

He took out a badge from his storage ring.

"In fact, the president instructed me to ask you if you were interested in joining the Student Council. He even gave me a council badge and told me to give you one immediately if you agreed to join."

Noah handed the badge he had taken out to William.

"There are many different departments in the Student Council. Do you have an interest in any particular one?"

William took the badge and spoke without hesitation.

"Disciplinary Department. I want to join the Disciplinary Department."

Noah paused for a moment before smiling warmly.

"Then we will be colleagues from now on. I am also from the Disciplinary Department."

As he spoke, Noah looked at Liam, who was standing beside William.

"Are you also interested in joining the Student Council?"

Liam thought for a moment before nodding. William had told him about the many benefits of joining the Student Council last night, so he didn’t want to miss this opportunity either.

Seeing him nod, Noah wasn’t particularly surprised.

"I don’t have any more council badges on me. How about this? You guys come with me to the council building. I will give you a tour of the council building and also explain your duties as members of the Student Council."

"Let’s do it after a few days," William shook his head. "I will be busy with a few things in the next few days. Once I have sorted them out, I will officially join the Student Council."

William still needed to meet Vivian tonight, and then he had to see Alicia’s brother tomorrow.

There were many things he needed to handle, and if he joined the Student Council right away, he would have to get busy immediately, since he knew it wasn’t easy to be a member of the Student Council.

They had a lot of privileges in the academy, but similarly, they also had to do many things that ordinary students didn’t have to.

Noah was confused when he heard William and couldn’t understand what he was busy with. But he did not ask and simply nodded.

"Since that’s the case, I will only register your information for now. You can officially join once you are done with your things."

William nodded, and after thanking Noah, he left with Liam.

Liam also decided to join a few days later, since for the next few days, he wanted to try to improve his control over Aether Energy according to the method Professor Norman had taught them in class.

Once they left the classroom, similar to Maya, many other people also came to invite them to join their factions.

But William and Liam declined them without hesitation.

William even saw Brown and Sophia being approached by many nobles from different families who wanted to invite them.

When William and Liam rejected the invitations, other than speaking a few harsh words, no one dared to threaten them or do anything else, as they had seen William’s strength just yesterday.

They were afraid that if they said something wrong to him, he would drag them into the battle arena and give them a good beating.

But Brown and Sophia’s situation was different.

When they declined to join any faction, many people gave them verbal threats, making them feel distressed.

’I have already laid the groundwork for my faction. I will finalize it after getting enough credits from selling the mine.’

William thought about it and, after eating lunch, returned to the dormitory with Liam.

Liam immediately began to practice according to what Professor Norman had taught them in class.

William, on the other hand, was still continuing the process of compressing his Aether Energy into liquid form.

Time continued to pass, and soon it was evening.

William and Liam once again went to the cafeteria to eat dinner.

Once they were finished, William waved his hand at Liam.

"I need to go somewhere. You head back first."

Liam was taken aback when he heard William and showed a suspicious look.

"Are you going to meet that senior of yours?"

"None of your business," William rolled his eyes upon seeing Liam’s suspicious look and left immediately.

"Tsk! Take care of your kidneys!" Liam shouted as he saw William leaving and immediately ran away.

William glanced back at the running Liam and shook his head.

"Instead of my kidneys, I am more concerned about my blood," He muttered under his breath before his figure flickered and disappeared from the spot.
