The sun was high up in the sky.

The temperature today was unbearably hot.

But it was the most terrifying day for all the survivors.

All the zombies were emitting roars that drove the survivors to collapse; these sounds were more terrifying than the sounds of zombies rushing towards flesh.

The sun was visibly hanging in the sky, but the sunlight was not glaring; a faint gray substance could be seen in the sky.

The weather did not become cooler; it only felt more stifling.

All the zombies were standing still, like a ferocious beast, howling at the sky.

They did not pounce upon the flesh in front of them, as if suddenly stricken by profound sadness, unable to savor the feast.

Despite this, the survivors who were originally chased by the zombies did not have the courage to turn back and deliver a fatal blow to them.

The mournful and harsh sound was more likely to make people collapse, being able to quickly leave the vicinity of zombies was already good enough.

Some brave ones, seeing the zombies standing still and mourning, picked up their knives and struck the zombies’ heads.

Blood splattered.

Yet not a single zombie resisted, nor any zombie rushed towards the flesh; they exhausted the strength in their chest to desperately release their first inexplicable sadness towards the sky.

Not only those free zombies inexplicably emitting mournful sounds.

Zombies worldwide stopped hunting, the sound from their chest was incredibly elongated and desperate.

Even the zombies in the research institute were like this.

Wang Ge sat on his bed, gloomily touching his mechanical arm, hearing the mournful sounds of zombies outside, he stood up and walked towards the outside.

In the white research institute, all the people dressed in white lab coats stood together, terrified as they looked at the zombies locked up.

Thinking they were about to rush out.

But they didn’t take action, just stood still, desperately making sounds that terrified the survivors from their throats.

"What’s going on?"

Wang Ge squinted at the group of people in white lab coats; brainwaves were already acting on those zombies.

In the rampant violent emotions in the zombies’ minds, there was an added touch of incredibly heavy sadness.

This emotion wasn’t supposed to appear in the zombies’ minds, yet it did appear most realistically.

"Don’t know what’s happening; all the zombies seem crazy, desperately howling, like... losing their closest kin."

The person in the white coat instinctively distanced themselves from the gloomy Wang Ge; after a long while, someone answered Wang Ge’s words.

Wang Ge tried to find the reason for the zombies’ howling in their brainwaves, but found no memory; they merely inexplicably gained an emotion of sadness that didn’t belong to them.

Wang Ge turned and left, walked a distance further down the long corridor.

Finally stopping in front of a room made entirely of glass.

Inside the transparent glass was a standard room similar to an ordinary hotel, various living supplies were very neat, the only difference from a hotel was that there were no normal furniture inside.

At first glance, the bathroom, wardrobe, and walls were all made of glass.

Wang Ge immediately saw Captain Zhu sitting on the sofa.

Captain Zhu was currently lowering his head; Wang Ge couldn’t see the expression on his face.

"Captain Zhu, what’s up with the zombies?"

Wang Ge placed his mechanical arm on the glass wall, gently scraping, emitting a piercing sound between the mechanism and glass.

Since Wang Ge’s arm was severed by the Base Commander, his character became much more solitary and fierce.

But Wang Ge hadn’t seen the current Base Commander; if he found out the Base Commander also lost an arm, maybe his mood could be somewhat better.

The glass had good soundproofing; a special window was opened to hear the outside sounds.

Captain Zhu still maintained his head-lowering posture, hearing Wang Ge’s voice but not responding.

"Captain Zhu!"

Wang Ge’s face showed some impatient emotion, using his mechanical arm to harshly hit the glass, instantly creating several scratches on it.

The sound emitted by the glass and mechanical arm was very loud.

Captain Zhu’s head slowly raised, quietly looking at Wang Ge standing outside the glass.

"Captain Zhu, what’s going on! Why did the zombies suddenly make this sound!"

Wang Ge already thought of an answer, with a bloodthirsty smile in his eyes.

Apart from flesh, zombies’ highest reverence went to High Rank Zombies.

They unconditionally obeyed the commands of zombies with higher ranks than themselves, unconditionally yielded to High Rank Zombies.

This unconditional yielding meant a unique Emperor would emerge to lead them.

Initially, Wang Ge didn’t understand this principle.

But when Zhang Yiming appeared in Zombie Village, and later after several zombie attacks commanded by Zhang Yiming, Wang Ge finally understood this principle thoroughly.

Zhang Yiming was that unique Emperor.

No matter how powerful Wang Ge’s brainwaves were, zombies would still obey Zhang Yiming’s brainwaves.

Even Captain Zhu, with autonomous behavioral ability, dared not appear under Zhang Yiming’s brainwaves.

Zhang Yiming could effortlessly command Captain Zhu to do anything, even dissect his own Crystal Core, Captain Zhu couldn’t disobey this command.

Zombies have only one bloodthirsty emotion; if other emotions appeared, it meant the Emperor’s demise or emergence.

Whenever Wang Ge thought of this idea, his heart couldn’t suppress a leap of joy.

As long as Zhang Yiming wasn’t around, without his brainwave influence, Wang Ge believed he could better control the zombie horde; even if he wasn’t a zombie, he could become the nominal Corpse Emperor!

"The Emperor has fallen."

Captain Zhu had a faint smile on his lips, but the pressure emanating from him was extremely low.

His mood was extremely low, inner sadness and loss, but the autonomous thinking brain made him extremely exhilarated and excited.

He no longer needed to worry about being controlled by Zhang Yiming’s brainwaves!

The emotions of sadness and excitement appeared on Captain Zhu’s face, making his face increasingly twisted.

The former Captain Zhu, full of a sense of justice, leading the residents of S City to escape, had vanished.

"It seems no one can protect Yunhua Safety Base."

Wang Ge heard Captain Zhu’s words, his eyes fell on the mechanical arm, already having thought about how to retaliate against Yunhua Safety Base.

The best way to retaliate was to command the zombie horde, letting the zombies break through the safety base bit by bit, turning everyone inside into zombies.

Turning into zombies wasn’t enough, but also capturing them in the research institute, dissecting the Crystal Core from their brains, and slicing them piece by piece.

Then, like throwing away garbage, casually tossing them on the ground as nutrients for those Mutated Plants!

"Haha..."

Thinking of this, Wang Ge couldn’t help but laugh aloud.

The young face bore a pathological unruly demeanor, inconsistent with his age.

Wang Ge’s laughter merged with the mournful cries of zombies, appearing so out of place.

Suddenly.

The mournful cries abruptly ceased.

Replaced by the sounds of angry roaring.

Bam bam bam!

The zombies in the research institute desperately crashed against the walls and doors blocking them.

Their rotting flesh flew off, yet they didn’t care; they used their own flesh to strike anything beside them.

Flesh, they needed to devour flesh.

"The Emperor still exists."

Captain Zhu suddenly raised his head, gritting his teeth and uttering three words.
