"You came to ’get the facts’ with a whole mob? Anyone who didn’t know better would think you were here on a crusade!"
"Let me make one thing clear. My daughter’s job was a direct transfer from Beijing City for work. We’re living here because my son-in-law is stationed here, which is perfect for a family reunion. So, is everything clear enough for you now?"

Sister Wang’s expression froze. She hadn’t expected word to travel so fast.
The moment Director Xie saw her expression, he knew it was true.
"You really did it?"
Sister Wang immediately shook her head. "I wasn’t looking for trouble, I was just verifying—"
Director Xie’s expression turned foul. "What was there for you to verify about her job? Did Qin Wenhao’s wife ever ask you for work? Don’t you know the answer to that yourself? So why would you go and ’verify’ anything?"
"And you took that whole crowd with you? What were you trying to do, interrogate her?"
