Chapter 150: Sister Wang is Criticized
Of course, Sister Wang couldn’t admit to that.
She quickly shook her head. "How could that be? I was forced into it. I had no other choice."
"You have no idea how many family members here are waiting for a job assignment. But there are only so many positions available. How could we possibly find one for everyone?"
"These people were all waiting patiently. But today, they heard that Qin Wenhao’s wife got a job right after she arrived. Of course they were going to cause a fuss!"
"Every single one of them came to me demanding an explanation. I told them I wasn’t the one who arranged the job for Qin Tuan’s wife, but they refused to believe me."
"I was going to come find you, but you weren’t here! They were making such a scene that I had no choice but to go and ask. They insisted on coming with me—I couldn’t just shoo them away, could I?"
"Besides, if I hadn’t gone to ask, and they had gone themselves, things probably would have gotten even more out of hand—"
’She felt wronged, too, you know.’
Her words made Director Xie laugh in anger. "So, you think you’re the one in the right here?"
Sister Wang: ...
Director Xie took a deep breath. "Give me the names of everyone who went with you to cause trouble today. Also, you will write a self-criticism report for me."
Hearing this, Sister Wang’s eyes widened in disbelief.
’I have to write a self-criticism report, too?’
Director Xie ignored her. "I want it by tomorrow morning. For now, just give me the list of the troublemakers."
’He couldn’t make trouble for the wives, but couldn’t he go after their husbands?’
Sister Wang could only nod with a pained expression, and she wrote down the names of the dozen or so people who had gone with her that day.
Director Xie took the list. As Sister Wang was about to leave, he reminded her, "Don’t forget the self-criticism report for tomorrow morning."
Sister Wang left, her face a mask of displeasure.
Director Xie acted quickly.
He had someone summon all the men whose names were on the list—
...
Fu Mingxue, however, knew nothing of what transpired after she left.
She was now in the factory director’s office at the engine plant.
"Hello, Comrade Fu Mingxue. Welcome. My surname is Geng."
Fu Mingxue quickly replied, "Hello, Director Geng!"
"Mr. Ji has already explained your situation to me. Furthermore, we’ve received your designs for the improved new engine. Our factory has specifically created the sixth technical research and development group, and you will be its leader. Your group has five other members, making it a team of six including yourself. They’ll be over in a little while."
Fu Mingxue hadn’t expected to be made a group leader right after arriving.
But she didn’t try to decline. "Thank you for your trust, Director Geng. I will certainly live up to your expectations and succeed in developing it as soon as possible."
Simply producing the blueprints wasn’t enough; they also had to be successfully developed in practice. During that process, not a single step would likely succeed on the first try.
They would also have to verify the feasibility of various data points and make improvements.
Director Geng was, in fact, also quite surprised by how young Fu Mingxue was.
But Mr. Ji had sent the blueprints over and personally vouched that the young woman before him had drawn them herself.
He had seen those blueprints. They were undoubtedly more advanced than anything their own technical teams had produced.
Moreover, they solved several previously insurmountable problems.
"First, please fill out the onboarding paperwork. Entry and exit at our facility are strictly controlled, so we’ll need the logistics department to make you a work badge."
Director Geng took a stack of papers from his drawer.
Fu Mingxue nodded. "Okay."
Then she took the pen and began filling out the forms.
There was a lot to fill out—
Ten minutes later, Fu Mingxue had finished everything.
Director Geng took the papers, glanced over them, and placed them in a file folder.
Although the research institute had already run a background check on her, they still needed to re-investigate and verify everything on their end.
