The sounds from outside genuinely frightened Lily Sterling. Even though she couldn’t see what was happening, the blood-curdling screams were utterly terrifying.

Her face paled, and she looked anxiously at the assistant director. "Director, make them stop! They’re going to kill him!"

Sweat beaded on the assistant director’s forehead. He could only offer a wry smile. "Lily, it’s not up to me!"

’How could I dare tell that man outside what to do?’

Lily Sterling had no idea what was going on, but it was clear the man was getting the lesson he deserved. ’Surely they won’t beat him to death or cripple him right here.’

’After an incident like this, he certainly won’t be staying. As long as he leaves the set, there won’t be any more trouble from him.’

But she was too scared to go out and look, so she could only shout through the door, "Sir, please stop hitting him! An apology is enough."

The words were barely out of her mouth when the sounds outside ceased.

The next moment, the door was pulled open. Duane poked his head in, and a startled Lily Sterling quickly retreated two steps.

"Alright, I’m taking him away. Everything’s fine now."

With that, Duane shut the door. He then turned and dragged Henry Marshall away like a dead dog.

Only then did people from the other dressing rooms slowly emerge. They stared at Duane’s retreating, suit-clad back, their faces filled with utter shock.

"Isn’t that Henry Marshall, the investor’s son?"

"He’s the young master of the Zenith Group. He has powerful backing."

"How did he get beaten so badly? He can’t even walk..."

"Goes to show there’s always a bigger fish. Scum like him deserve to be taught a lesson. Who knows how many girls he’s bullied."

The crowd whispered among themselves. News of the incident spread throughout the film set, and everyone agreed it was a satisfying outcome.

By the time Winston Marshall saw his son again, Henry Marshall was beaten beyond recognition.

"This..." He rushed forward to take his son from Duane’s hands, his voice filled with heartache. "Weren’t you supposed to be apologizing? Why did you hit him again?"

Though his initial defiance and stubbornness had vanished, he couldn’t help but feel his heart ache with anguish at the sight of his son’s condition.

Duane stated expressionlessly, "The kid lied. He did, in fact, grope Cecilia’s sister. It’s only because her sister said to let it go that I didn’t break his arm."

Winston Marshall was naturally seething with hatred, but he dared not speak his anger aloud.

After helping his son onto the sofa, he looked up at Cecilia Sterling. Though he tried to suppress it, he couldn’t hide the resentment in his eyes. "Are you satisfied now?"

Cecilia Sterling chuckled at his words. "You’ve got one thing wrong. I didn’t do any of this for my own satisfaction. I did it to teach your precious, lecherous, and foul-mouthed son a lesson. So that the next time he thinks about getting fresh with an innocent girl, he’ll remember everything that happened today."

"I’ll be keeping the video of his apology. As long as he behaves himself in the future, that video will never be leaked. But if I ever see news online about him bullying a girl, I’ll send this video straight to the media. Chairman Marshall’s group is so massive; I wonder if such negative press would affect its corporate image and stock price."

Winston Marshall’s heart seized. He said in a low voice, "Miss Sterling, my son has learned his lesson. And he didn’t cause any substantial harm to your sister. Why must you be so aggressive?"

"Because he shouldn’t have provoked my sister." Cecilia Sterling’s expression turned sharp. She said softly, "Anything involving my sister is never a small matter. Because I will make a mountain out of a molehill, and I will make that mountain explode."

"You..." Winston Marshall opened his mouth, but it ended in a long, powerless sigh. He nodded, as if he had no choice but to accept it all, whether he was willing or not.

"Can we go now? I need to take him to the hospital."

Cecilia Sterling raised an eyebrow and nodded. "Of course. Do you need me to pay for his medical bills?"

"That won’t be necessary."

Winston Marshall stood up as he spoke and helped Henry Marshall to his feet. In truth, he wasn’t injured below the neck; only his face was swollen. His lower body was simply weak with fear, which was why he couldn’t stand steadily.

Although Cecilia Sterling wanted to avenge her sister, she had never considered permanently maiming Henry Marshall, much less killing him.

The psychological pressure and fear were the most terrifying part.

Duane was very experienced, using the safest methods and just enough force to make Henry Marshall suffer the most. Right now, Henry Marshall’s mouth was so full of blood he couldn’t speak. He was indeed badly hurt, but not as seriously as Winston Marshall thought.

Once Winston Marshall and his son had left the room, Cecilia Sterling finally relaxed her frigid demeanor. She picked up the lukewarm water on the table and took two sips.

"Miss Sterling, I’m sorry."

James Lockwood’s expression was heavy with apology, and his tone was sincere.

"President Lockwood, how many times has it been?" Cecilia Sterling asked softly, turning her head to look at him.

"I’m truly sorry. I never imagined something like this would happen," James Lockwood could only apologize repeatedly.

Of course, Cecilia Sterling was angry with James Lockwood, but she couldn’t treat him the way she had treated Henry Marshall.

"I don’t blame you for this incident. You know the reason I’m angry."

"I know, I know. I promise it won’t happen again. I will notify you immediately next time."

Cecilia Sterling shook her head. "It’s best there isn’t a next time."

With that, Cecilia Sterling stood up and gestured for Duane and the others to leave. Seeing this, James Lockwood instinctively spoke up, "You’re leaving? Aren’t you going to see Lily?"

Cecilia Sterling stopped and looked back at him. "And tell her that I was the one who had him beaten up like that?"

James Lockwood understood. "Right, I get it. I’ll handle the aftermath."

Cecilia Sterling shook her head, speechless, and then left the film set with Duane and the others.

Yuna soon received a message from Cecilia Sterling: "Thank you for telling me. President Lockwood is already handling this matter."

The message was ambiguous, leaving Yuna momentarily confused.

’So, was that man just now one of Lily’s people or not?’

’Or was he one of President Lockwood’s men?’

She couldn’t very well ask Cecilia Sterling directly, so she just replied: "You’re welcome. I was just afraid Lily would get bullied."

The incident’s conclusion was jaw-dropping. Seeing Henry Marshall get beaten, Suzanne Sawyer’s own anxiety and fear lessened slightly.

Once she had collected herself, she remembered to thank Lily Sterling, though her expression was very unnatural.

"Thank you for today."

’If she hadn’t shown up in time, I never would have escaped Henry Marshall’s harassment so easily. Lily Sterling helped me. I have to admit that.’

Lily Sterling shook her head. "No need to thank me."

Suzanne Sawyer couldn’t bring herself to say more. She felt ashamed, but she couldn’t yet reconcile that shame with her hostility toward Lily Sterling, leaving her feeling conflicted.

Lily Sterling didn’t expect them to bury the hatchet over this incident. It was simply that when a girl faces such danger, as a woman herself, she felt she had to step forward.

’In situations like this, even if you’re not the one being threatened, all women are essentially facing the same enemy.’
