Rebuild World

105 Akira and Carol

Akira stuffed the rucksack for carrying the artifact to its limits. Then resume the journey to its original destination, a branch of Lions Tail on the 57th floor. A narrow passage also made it difficult to travel, climbing the Serantaru building while carrying a rucksack.

The sights along the way are varied. Some very beautiful "clean" compartments, while others are desolate and scattered all the way to the rubble "goodness". Ask Alpha as Akira looks at the sight in wonder.

"Alpha. Why is it so different from place to place?

"Probably the difference between cleaning and whether the maintenance device is working."

'You mean the desolate place doesn't have its function? That shop, it's amazing. It's beautiful, but there's nothing in it. Wouldn't you even refill the product? But there was plenty in the store earlier, and what's the difference?

"That store will probably be replenished automatically."

"Who brings that product from where?

"I guess the hauling machines will bring it from the production plants that are still running today."

'No, if such a factory were nearby, someone would definitely discover it, wouldn't they? Hunters and companies get there and it's a big deal...'

"It may be that the factory is very far away, for example, further east of the eastern front line, and has not been found. Or maybe the factory exists quite close, but the security devices are so powerful that no one can get close. That's a lot to think about. '

'Mm-hmm. Then I feel hunters attacking me on the way in carrying merchandise'

"The security machine may be escorting the transport machine. Maybe it's being transported by subway through an underground tunnel. Or maybe it's even airborne."

"The subway? It seems possible. Is it any wonder that hunters can transport you without attacking you?"

The means of travel in the east will be ground travel with some exceptions. Nor did Akira come up with any means of transport other than ground. The cuttlefish also came back from the eastern frontline in a trailer through the ground. Old world technology would also have non-terrestrial means of transport. Akira was not convinced to remember any further questions.

As Akira climbed the building further as she continued to chat with Alpha, the stairs leading to the 26th floor were sealed off. When we started exploring the 25th floor as before in order to find another staircase, something different happened.

"Akira. Be careful. There's someone here. '

As Alpha pointed out, that person's reaction also appeared in the enemy results of the information-gathering equipment displayed on the goggles Akira was wearing.

As Akira moved on with vigilance, it appeared that one of them had also noticed Akira's presence. It is not unusual to meet other hunters in the ruins of the old world. But there is no guarantee that the hunter is friendly.

If you're going away to avoid contact, fine. Akira thought so, but someone's reaction was getting closer here.

This floor is quite vandalized and there are many shields such as destroyed equipment. Someone is approaching Akira while hiding from them. When Akira puts her gun in that direction on guard, someone hiding in the shadow of the shield talks to her.

"I'm not going to fight. I'm Carol. Hunter, don't shoot me because I'm not a monster. Okay?"

I also have Alpha support now. You don't need to be unnecessarily vigilant and increase your enemies. Akira, who decided so, lowers her gun.

"Okay."

When Akira replied so, a female hunter named Carol soon appeared from the shadows.

Carol wears a bodysuit for women. Armed to the extent that a large pistol is stored in the holster, both hands are empty. I'm not even holding the knife.

Compared to Akira's outfit, which is equipped with CWH objective assault guns and DVTS miniguns, Carol also feels much lighter and less alert.

Akira decided she could afford Carol's attitude, which could be judged both as alarming and marginal. I'm the hunter in the building that I went into so hard. I didn't feel like underestimating it. Still seeing Carol's attitude approaching without even holding the gun, Akira lowered her guard against Carol.

Carol comes near Akira with a loving laugh. Carol's gaze goes through Akira's gear, fortified clothes, CWH objective assault guns, etc., and she returns to Akira's face.

"I named you, too, and why don't you let me know your name?

"It's Akira. So, what can I do for you?

"It's not enough. I just came to say hello because I met another hunter on the same building floor. I'm sorry we mistook each other for monsters, and we stayed in a shootout, right?

"Well, you are. I'm sorry I did that, too."

Akira was also a convincing answer, and the preferred answer to trying to avoid unnecessary combat. Akira's alertness to Carol drops unconsciously. Carol, who noticed that Akira's attitude, approaches Akira one step further.

"I met him at the corner 'cause of it', and don't you want to talk to him for a second? I'd like to exchange information."

Carol suggested that to Akira as she smiled "Ho Ho".

Akira and Carol completed a mild introduction. Looks like Carol is primarily a hunter working at the ruins of Mihazono Street. Looks like I've visited this building many times.

Akira asked Carol about the woman in the 3D footage she saw on the ground floor. If Carol has come to this building many times to explore, I thought he might know more about it.

Carol answers softly.

"Oh, that's serental. She can ignore it. 'Cause I'm gonna say a lot, but it's just my mouth."

"Serantal was like the name of this building..."

"I'm talking about her being the manager of the building. They threaten to get out of this building, but the stereoscopic footage won't let us rip it off and scratch it. It's enough to stop the elevator."

"Is it his fault the elevator couldn't be used?

"Maybe. In the ruins where this kind of management system survives, it would be much easier to explore it if we could use it well, but Serantal is completely unwilling to negotiate with us, so I can't. Well, from her point of view, we're just thieves, so we can't."

That's what Carol said and laughed. Akira also smiles back bitterly.

"Sure. By the way, how did Carol get into this building? There's a troublesome mechanical monster at the entrance to this building, and if you hadn't defeated it, you wouldn't have been able to get in there."

As a matter of fact, there is another safe path, and did I come in (on purpose) with wasted hardship? If so, my bad luck seems to still be of poor quality today. Akira thought that.

After Carol gives him a slightly unexpected look, he smiles and talks like he's sediting Akira.

"Asking me that means Akira knocked them out and came in? Don't do it. Akira is strong. I'm the type of strong hunter that I am."

"Thanks for that. So, how did you get in?

"Actually, there's a back door in this building. I used it. Want to know?"

Carol asked Akira that, laughing like the prank Naughty.

Answer why "why" while relieving "most" that Akira did not waste her battle for the sake of bad luck for now.

"Hopefully."

Carol laughs lusciously.

"It's not just" just ". Right. How about five million aurums? It would be a cheap amount to ignore the troublesome monsters on the table and put them in this building, wouldn't it?

Akira comes up with a few ideas. If you think you won't have to deal with that powerful mechanical monster when you enter this building, it could certainly be a reasonable amount of money.

But Akira may not come to this building again. Akira came to this building in the first place because it has a terminal installation location at Lyons Tail. The collection of artifacts in this building is not the main purpose.

Above all, if you have difficulty getting into this building in the normal way, it means this is basically a place beyond Akira's strength. I won't force you. Akira decides to say no.

"I'll stop it"

Carol listens back without breaking the smile "Ho Ho".

"Oh. Dissatisfied with the amount? Or can't I trust you?

"At least it's not the amount you pay for the story of a hunter you stumbled upon in the ruins."

"Best of all. But I can't go into details before I get paid for the information either. Just listen to me, complain about the content, and some run away without paying for it."

"I guess."

The criteria for determining whether the cost of information is appropriate are for each person. And whether a transaction is concluded involves various elements, such as the credibility of the seller and the buyer, in addition to the content of that information.

The cost of the means to get inside the building without fighting the mechanical monsters around the Serantaru building. Akira decided that if that were true, the five million aurum would be a reasonably reasonable sum. But it's also possible that Carol is throwing up a lie. Even if it wasn't a lie, its back door could be so narrow that it can't bring out artifacts in the building.

And there's no connection between Akira and Carol just to make that deal work.

Akira is not in the mood for a deal. That's well understood by Carol, too, but he keeps talking without breaking his smile.

"But that's mutual. I know Akira's position when she hesitates to pay for vague information, including authenticity. Then why don't we buy something else before we finish trading that information to make sense of each other?

"Something else? If it's a relic of the old world, I won't buy it because I'll look for it myself. I've been collecting well on another floor, so I'm not even willing to buy information about stashes of expensive artifacts."

Carol laughs lusciously and keeps talking.

"No, I'm not. You said to understand each other, didn't you?

That's what Carol said and reached for the zipper in his bodysuit. The zipper continues from the neck to the lower abdomen through the valley of the chest. I laugh at Akira as Carol lowers the zipper that was closed to her neck.

"I'm the one who sells. What do you say? This is on the edge of something, too. I'll keep it cheap, okay?

Carol laughed lusciously as she revealed Akira's peeking skin from a daring, open gap in her bodysuit.

Akira was a little surprised by Carol's unexpected behavior, but that was all. Normally refuses Carol's offer without any particular lighting or rush.

"Don't be shy. Number one, we don't even know where the monsters are. They're in the ruins. Are you insane?"

"Then you'll be fine. Basically, there are no monsters around here. Maybe the mechanical ones are out of security or destroyed, and the biological ones are eliminated before they get inside the building. If not, I wouldn't do this either."

"Still, it would have to be among the ruins. Other hunters could come."

Carol, who finished lowering the zipper to the bottom, tells him to invite him while sitting at a desk nearby.

"Some people say it's good to do it in places like this. I don't mind, but if you're curious, you can move to the little room, okay? Besides, if it goes well with me, maybe my mouth will be lighter, too? Plus, if you're willing to consider buying information positively, you can only" just "pay for it."

Carol offers favorable conditions, and Akira's twisted "twisted" part begins to suspect the opposite.

"You're very generous. If you stop thinking about it, Carol will lose a lot of money.

"I told you, didn't I? Strong hunters are the type. If you're going to invite Awesome to defeat that mechanical monster who's guarding this building by himself, that's about it."

"Why do you think I knocked him out on my own? You don't think I have a companion?

"That's a guess. I don't think a hunter who doesn't know what's going on inside the building is going to act on his own, even though he has other people with him. I wouldn't call it the same as that unmanned weapon, but it should act on the assumption of the existence of a monster based on its strength. But Akira is here alone. That's because Akira has been breaking through the security outside by herself. That's what I decided, was I wrong? Oh, actually, knock it down with about ten people, Akira's one of them, and the leader of that team, you scout it out by yourself, what do you mean you got here reluctantly? If that's the case, I don't want to talk about" just "earlier. Because it means you're not my type. So, what do you say?

Carol is waiting for Akira's reply with a laugh of fun. Akira answers honestly by deciding that it would just be useless to misdemonize "sesame seeds".

"No, I did take him down by myself"

"Right? My eyes are sure. And if you're concerned about" just ", that's fine. Once you get a taste of me, I'm confident that you'll make Akira a repeater. I'll squeeze a lot out of you in the long run."

That's what Carol said and smiled lusciously, "Huh."

Carol's story was somewhat convincing to Akira as well. But Akira asks Alpha once she feels something unexplained.

"Alpha. What do you think?

Listen back with Alpha's unexpected look.

'What do you think, a little Akira, maybe you're willing to take it?

Akira definitely says no. That was the result of Alpha's predictive guess calculations. Alpha insists on alerting Akira to actions that conflict with the outcome.

But Akira's behavior was within the scope of Alpha's prediction, "Hanchu".

'No. That's not what I meant. Previously, Alpha would have said to some extent that she could tell the other person's lie, Liar. From that alpha, I hear how you judge Carol's words. For example, he's trying to lure me somewhere to kill Takura, or something like that.

Similar things have been done in insecure parts of the city. This is among the ruins of the old world. I don't have any trouble with where the bodies are dumped. If Carol is the "Yamato" of his hand, he'll need to be careful behind his back when he leaves.

"Oh. That's the thing."

Alpha understands Akira's thoughts and reassures him for now. When asked by a strange woman, Akira still seems to be distorting "Yuko" to such an extent that she is slightly over-aware that she is trying to kill herself.

Alpha answers by returning the expression to its usual calm.

'I'll tell you what, that's what you read and judge by the subtle changes in their expression. So it's not like you can read the other person's thoughts, and it's not like you can read the other person's company Takura. I do think there's a verse where Carol thinks something behind it, too. But for the first time, let's catch Akira for free, seduce her, let her drown in her captivity, and root out the hunter's earnings of Awesome, and if you think she's Takura, then Tsugumi fits. He seems confident, and he says so himself.'

Akira looks at Carol again. Carol is young, fleshy, and pretty enough to look at her. And he has a glossy, confident, "flooded" smile. Objectively, there seemed to be no surprise that Carol had a hunter who would fit in and break himself.

"Whatever it is, you'll be fine if you don't get your hands on it."

That's what I'm talking about.

Akira declines Carol's offer again.

"I'm sorry. I knew I'd say no."

Carol gives me a slightly surprised look. It was rarely an experience where I was invited to say no.

"You're not getting along. Is that what you're resistant to? You don't look like an adult, but you're not old enough to live with childish fantasies, are you?

"I'm about the age of eating more than color. Plus, there's a lot going on in the ruins, and I'm just gonna live a little timidly. That's why I don't want to inadvertently let go of my gun, and I don't want to take off my fortified clothes. Sorry."

Carol also gave up the invite with it. Some hunters are seriously injured when monsters attack them in ruins and resist letting go of their guns by the time they are morbid. It's dangerous to force people like that to let go of their guns.

"Yes. Too bad. We don't know when we're gonna die. Hunter operational. Pretty much the type, and I was going to make you feel good."

Carol said that with all her heart. And I added the part in my heart that I couldn't say to my earlier words, and unfortunately smiled "hey hey". Confirming Akira's condition while keeping the body suit zipper firmly back to her neck doesn't seem to regret the seductive limbs that are going to get screwed.

(... If you're about this age, it sounds good to be pulled by that greed, but are you actually more of a child than you seem?

Carol looks at Akira a little strangely. Next to it, I can't imagine a woman with a look and flesh packed with mountains of Akira ideals and wearing exposed clothes quite often.

Whether or not this should be referred to as the result of Alpha's anti-honeytrap measures would be a little subtle considering Akira's distorted "Yuga" interpersonal feel.

Akira breaks up with Carol and tries to go for the 57th floor, which is her destination.

"It's time for me to go back to exploring. Bye."

"Really? I'm in this building for a while, so look for me if you change your mind. I'll wait."

Carol said so and waved gently at Akira.

Akira breaks up with Carol and resumes her exploration of the 25th floor. I regretted I should have asked Carol where the stairs were in the middle of my exploration, but I stopped going back to ask. Because if you're mistaken for changing your mind, it's a hassle.

We explored Shirala temporarily and found a staircase, but the staircase was only connected to the thirtieth floor, and the part up to the thirty-first floor was sealed off again.

Akira exhales.

"Again. It's a hassle. '

'I have no choice. Let's find another staircase. "

Akira begins her exploration of the thirtieth floor. There is no monster figure. I guess it's safe in the building as Carol talked about it. Akira was on her way to exploring the floor as she lowered her guard.

Unexpectedly, Alpha's expression gets a little harsh.

"Akira. Travel to that place and stop once."

Alpha pointed a little further away. Akira looked at Alpha and moved to the designated location with increased vigilance.

"Alpha. The enemy? There shouldn't be any monsters talking about Carol... '

'There's no response from the monsters. But don't loosen your guard.'

Akira will remain on alert as directed by Alpha. No anomalies can be detected in the reaction of the enemy of the information-gathering device or in the visual confirmation. No sign of the enemy. But keep alert, wondering if Alpha has something to encourage vigilance.

Alpha turns her expression into something serious. Akira also understands that that means the corresponding danger.

"... I knew the accuracy of the information-gathering equipment was diminishing. And it keeps getting worse. Is this colorless fog?

When I hear words coming out of Alpha's mouth that must not be heard, Akira's expression is strong "Frightened".

"Alpha. What's wrong with the colorless fog?

"We've been losing the accuracy of our information-gathering equipment since just now. It's something that can happen even with the structure of the building and the placement of the items inside it, so I've moved on without worrying about it. But it has already declined to such an extent that it cannot be explained. If the structure of the building or the placement of objects is the cause, you should recover somewhat if you change the location. If Akira had recovered somewhat by moving to where she was now, she could also be convinced for that reason. But I couldn't. Then we'll have to think of other causes. So what I can think of is a colorless mist. The colorless fog rapidly darkened for some reason. It's natural to think that way."

Akira asks Alpha to calm herself, even though she makes her expression a little harsh.

"A ruin in the old world would be something that could happen. Besides, it doesn't have that fatal impact, does it?

'For now. If the accuracy continues to decline, it will taste bad.

'I have no choice. Let's proceed with caution'

Akira replied as she remained calm.

Alpha, who previously knew Akira's wolf "Candlestick" when the colorless fog darkened, tells Akira as she smiles "Ho Ho".

'Oh, you're calm enough. I told Akira a little early because I thought Akira was going to "wander" after the influence became more harsh. Could it have been an extra favor?

'Cause things don't get better where I panicked. I don't want to die, so I'm going to act calm. It helps to tell me early. I can afford to calm down. "

'Yes, that's good. Akira's grown a lot, too. I'm happy too. "

"... thank you."

Akira gave it back without hesitation to the words of Alpha, which seemed to teach "cha cha" somewhere. At least I tried not to give it back. It was also known to Alpha that it was a blackout.

When Akira was around the tenth floor of the building, many hunters were gathered around the Serantar building.

Akira fought quite flashly to defeat a mechanical monster who was guarding the Serantalville. That's why many hunters in the ruins of Mihazono Street noticed it.

There are roughly two different ways to break down powerful mechanical monsters guarding the Selantar building and get inside the building.

The first is how to destroy the surrounding mechanical monsters with a large number of hunters and send a small number of hunters inside the building. While a handful of hunters are collecting artifacts inside the building, the rest of the hunters control the entrance and exit of the building to prevent other hunters from entering the building.

It is also to avoid the artifact collection squad becoming a battle with other hunters over artifacts, and to prevent other hunters from scratching and snatching "Sara" for the gain of defeating a hard-won and powerful mechanical monster. Let someone get rid of the guard monster and go into the building and fish for relics without fighting. There are many hunters who think so.

Defeating a powerful mechanical monster costs the right amount. Costs of treatment, ammunition and labor. To subtract them and turn them into black, you can't let a hunter other than your buddies take your artifacts.

Those who can defeat powerful mechanical monsters are naturally more powerful hunters than that. While they control the entrance to and exit from the building, no other hunter can get inside the building. And by the time they leave, another powerful mechanical monster will emerge from nowhere to return to its original state.

The second is how to temporarily drill a hole in the security of a mechanical monster and send in a handful of hunters. When the artifact squad sent in escapes the building, the hunter outside focuses his firepower again and punches a hole in the security net to escape. It is a means chosen by a small team of hunters confident in instantaneous firepower.

It's hard for hunters other than the offensive team to break into the building by either means. But still, if someone tries to attack Selantarville, there are hunters out there trying to see how it turns out.

There are people inside negotiating with a team of hunters controlling the entrance to the building. Some people go into the building without thinking about the future by shooting "Suki" at the security gap that has temporarily diminished. Some sneak out the remains of defeated mechanical monsters.

And on rare occasions, powerful hunters forcibly destroy mechanical monsters of security and leave. I don't know why. Maybe I simply changed my mind. Maybe it's just eight hits or a worry. Maybe some company developed a new gear and hired a hunter to let it fight with that gear as a test for its performance.

The other hunters have nothing to do with why. The only thing that matters is the circumstances under which you can break into the Serantaru building without having to labor. Akira's flashy battle put that expectation on many hunters who were at the ruins of Mihazono Street. That's why many hunters came to the Selantarville to confirm.

One of the hunters who came to scout confirms the sights around the main entrance and exit of the Serantaru building. He checks the wreckage of the destroyed mechanical monster. And make sure there are no hunters around. After checking the situation, he contacts his buddies with a full grin.

"It's me! Contact the others immediately! Security around the Selantaru building is wiped out! There's no team controlling the entrance or exit! Whether you're collecting artifacts or selling mechanical monsters, you're making a fortune now!... right! Right away! If you're guzzling, the others will get you ahead of you! The others are here to check it out! Hurry!"

The other hunters were in touch with their buddies just like him. In no time, many hunters assembled in the Serantalville. Anyone who tries to carry Akira to sell her defeated unmanned weapon. who enter the building and try to find relics of the Old World. Numerous hunters initiate action.

Some continue straight behind the building, while others wait on the ground floor until the arrival of their fellow hunters. And on the ground floor, there was the figure of Serantal, a 3D video woman who repeatedly warned those hunters.

"… Customer. The building is currently closed and is off-limits to anyone other than those involved. Please pick it up.... I warn you. Our facility retains the right to kill and maim against trespassers. Evacuate immediately. … Customer"

We had prior information about the Selantar building and the hunters who knew about the women in the 3D footage on the ground floor completely ignored Selantar.

But some do not: one hunter awaits the arrival of his fellow hunters on the ground floor. The fellow had arrived late, and he was very frustrated. He also ignored Serantar for the time being. But to repeated warnings, he exasperates the "there" and yells at Seranthal.

"Shut up! Shut up!

"I warn you. This facility is…"

"Shut up!"

He points a gun at Serantar. I knew it was stereoscopic footage and shooting didn't make sense. Still pulled the trigger. That's all there was to it.

The bullet landed on the wall behind him through Serantal. Luckily there was no one there and there were no injuries.

But firing in a place like this means a lot. The hunters around him point guns at him simultaneously. He hurries and starts apologizing with his hands up.

"Wow, I'm sorry! I'm pissed off because he's so loud! That's it! Apologize!

"... I'll kill you next time"

Hunters around warned him of the killing. They are not willing to kill each other for nothing either. Neither are they going to pretend to be this one-of-a-kind opportunity with a futile killing that won't be gold. Because of this, his life was hard to come by. If there had been an injury, he would have been killed.

"Wow, okay. I'm sorry."

He even apologized. Hunters around him tongue down and unload the gun. And so he exhaled.

No hunter paid attention to Serantar because of this noise. As a result, no one noticed that Seranthal's language had changed.

"Confirm the excess of the number of judgment criteria against trespassers. Confirmed hostility tolerated killing of employees and similar beings. Confirm vandalism to the building body. Change the situation to D. Screw you."

Serantal disappeared by spewing words he would never say to the customer. A handful of hunters noticed that Serantal disappeared after temporarily "Shirala", but no one cared about it or understood what it meant.
