Rebuild World

106 Bad Eating Building

When Akira was talking to Carol on the 25th floor, the anomaly had begun around the Serantaru building. Precisely the anomaly has already begun, and the hunters outside the building have begun to realize it.

The hunters are trying to carry Akira's destroyed unmanned weapon. They chose to replace the disfunctioning drone weapon with gold rather than go inside the building where the hunters were killing and fight over the relics of the old world, joining a takeover that would be enough to kill each other if they were bad.

I don't know who defeated these unmanned weapons, but if you're abandoning them, it's the same as throwing them away. Perhaps the artifacts in the building are what we're looking for, and our interest in defeated unmanned weapons is dim. That's what they were judging.

They remain on perimeter alert until equipment for transport arrives. Confirming the reaction of the information-gathering equipment is destroying the small mechanical monsters that are approaching. It is up to us to bring home this unmanned weapon. They can't be recovered by other machine monsters.

They could afford it for a while. But gradually, the expression mixes with something surprising. There are quite a few mechanical monsters approaching. And the quantity is increasing.

One of them tells his people.

"Hey, isn't that weird? Why are you stopping by so much?

"The powerful mechanical monsters defending the Selantarville are said to be temporarily repositioned even if destroyed. Maybe I'll collect it, repair it, redeploy it. This is all the big fuselage we carry. That's all there is to it if you want it to be transported to a small machine?

"Oh, you know what?"

"They may be using such precious parts that they collect them on purpose. I'm sure they'll sell it for a high price."

A fellow man loosened his face thinking of the amount of money he would get.

The man, who was a little worried, also loosened his expression with his buddy's remarks. All the machines that come close are individuals that can be easily destroyed. I might have cared too much. When the man tried to reconsider that, an explosion sounded from a remote location. I can also hear some more pretty fierce gunfire. The other hunters are fighting.

Those sounds are gradually approaching the Serantarbil side. And you start to see the many hunters coming this way.

A man I was worried about makes me draw a look and tell my people.

"Hey, isn't there too much of anything?

Behind the hunters heading to the Serantarville side, there were so many mechanical monsters looming that they were likely to fill a strip. Hunters who are desperately responding are swallowed up by the tsunami of the machine. A half-frequent hunter uses a grenade or a bullet-throwing gun at a distance that involves himself. The explosion blew the waves of the machine only temporarily and drilled a hole in the enemy's siege, but the hole also quickly swallowed and scratched off the subsequent waves.

Tell your buddies as the hunters around the building scream.

"To, we're getting away!

Answer as a man looks around and screams.

"Where are you running away from!?

The herd of mechanical monsters had emerged from all directions around the building. I don't see any gaps in the siege. Hunters outside the building run out toward their only escape. Into the Selantaru building, the only place that seems to be able to stand and fight caged, even if surrounded by sieges.

All of the hunters' survival outside gathered in the Serantarville, temporarily pushing the monsters back. Using the building's entrance and exit as a natural and defensive point, we will continue to concentrate our firepower and destroy the monsters trying to get inside the building.

But the hunters start to get pushed again before they scratch (or gather) the mechanical monsters around them. Enemy machines continue to march without feeling fear or anything, even if other individuals are destroyed. Subsequent flocks push, tear, crush, advance, attack and narrow the siege through fragments and parts of other individuals destroyed.

Hunters scream at those around them.

"Hey! Anyone can get in touch with the guys up there! Not if you're collecting artifacts!

"I'm doing it! I don't want to be connected! The effect of colorless fog!?

"Huh!? Why are you doing this?

"You know what! I don't want to be connected!

Without the support of the hunters on the upper floor of the building where the artifacts are collected, the hunters on the first floor will have no chance of winning. But I can't call for backup because I can't communicate.

"... I have no choice. I'll call it in person."

That's what one hunter said and left the scene.

"Oh, I'm coming, too."

"Me too!

Several more hunters leave the scene.

The first really left the spot to go call for backup. But those who followed did not necessarily. He decided it was dangerous to stay here, and he was trying to escape. Go upstairs where there should be more hunters.

And some of the other hunters who noticed it followed under the same pretext, rather than exasperating and calling those who fled. Not all of them. But enough people were there to crumble the front.

A mechanical monster who managed to hold it down breaks into the building and hits the hunters. Hunters are killed by mechanical monsters with gunfire, body to body, and small shells. He begins to flee us first from those who can no longer endure fear. Those who have not lost their will cannot remain on the ground floor in this situation, and they are followed by a retreat to the upper floor.

It took very little time for the first floor of the building to be occupied by monsters.

Akira is exploring the thirtieth floor of the building. Due to the lack of accuracy of the information-gathering equipment, the search continues with caution and vigilance against surprise attacks. I was up there looking for stairs while Alpha pointed out the moving route to make sure it was safe.

"Akira, we're talking about the accuracy of the information-gathering equipment, but the cause doesn't seem to be colorless fog."

Akira puts on a joyous look and continues to look a little surprised.

'That was good...? You didn't get your precision back. "

"Yeah. Precision is still declining. Probably the function of this building."

"This building? Didn't you say the structure of this building had nothing to do with it?

"That doesn't mean it's caused by room spacing, aisle placement, etc. Although it is not limited to the old world, if dignitaries from governments and companies meet in secret, they may use a room that is isolated from all communication in order not to know the situation in the room externally. We're getting close to that. It's also difficult to communicate at close range via an information terminal. Perhaps this building was equipped with a powerful communication shutdown capability."

'You mean that suddenly started to work? Why all of a sudden?

"I don't know that far."

Akira stops and thinks. And ask with a serious look.

'Should I turn back? Though we will stop doing what we were meant to do, once we got the relics of the old world, we got them pretty good. "

After Alpha comes up with a few ideas, she answers with a smile.

'If Akira thinks so, let's turn back. Shall we deal with Akira's ill fortune as soon as possible before it bursts flashly?'

Copy that.

Akira replied with a bitter smile. And when he returns his heel and tries to return, Alpha controls Akira with his hands.

'What's the matter with you?

'Somebody's coming. Running. Sounds like you're in a pretty hurry. Keep it up and I'll come over.'

Akira points the gun in that direction for once. It won't be an enemy ambush, but just in case.

The person was Carol. Coming out of the aisle a little further away, Carol screams as she runs as she finds Akira.

"Akira! Help! Do something about the one behind you!

Looking behind Carol, a small mechanical monster was chasing Carol with a damaged fuselage. Akira decides to help once and for all, though a little strange.

"Are you out of ammo? Get out of the ray!

Get away from the ray while Carol runs quickly. Akira pulls the trigger by firmly targeting the enemy with an A2D assault gun. The parts were scattered across the aisle grinding mechanical monsters where the fired heavy loads were already about to break.

If you're that much of an opponent, you don't have to ask Akira for help. You just have to let Carol defeat you on her own. You shouldn't even have to run. That's what I thought. Akira squeaked in surprise.

"I can handle it on my own..."

Akira's whining stopped there. A large number of mechanical monsters emerged from the aisle where Carol jumped.

Akira immediately switches her weapon to a DVTS mini-gun to storm a bunch of bullets at her enemies. Relatively small, brittle, mechanical monsters are crushed, but heavily armored individuals thrust in unbeatable shooting pressure.

Carol, who had come all the way to Akira's side (buckwheat), shot the individual first as he tried to attack by switching the individual to a CWH objective assault gun. The fired bullet penetrated the airframe's armor, blowing it backwards with a further impact and devastating the enemy with a single blow. A gun the size of a large pistol, but if you do it poorly, it seems to have the power of a CWH objective assault gun. But I guess I can't do it in a row. It is an unsuitable weapon to fight the herd.

"I'm getting away with this!

Carol ran out leaving Akira behind with that much to say.

Akira follows Carol. Alpha is smiling bitterly next to it.

'Sounds like it was already too late. Akira's bad luck seemed faster.'

'Right!

Akira followed Carol with a disgusting look.

Unlike Akira, who first came to Serantalville, Carol has been here many times. For this reason, we are able to move forward without getting lost.

Things are already very different from the Selantar building, which Carol is well aware of, but he goes on to neglect (grate) the forward enemy, believing that it won't have changed until the building's internal structure. The herd of mechanical monsters is approaching from downstairs. Unless the internal structure of the building has changed, there should be no route ahead of it.

Ask Carol as Akira runs.

"Carol. Tell me what's going on. What happened down there?

"It's overflowing with mechanical monsters down there. A large number of monsters are climbing the building while engaging other hunters. There's a big mix-up down there. Not really, but I'm not in a position to go down."

"The outside mechanical monster broke in because I destroyed the unmanned weapon outside the building?

"I don't know. Well, I think the hunters do.... Akira was in the middle of a building with only the smallest number of enemies needed. That's what I thought, but talking about it meant you came in with the unmanned weapon outside destroyed. And alone. I like it more and more. How did you take him down?

Akira hardens her expression and answers Carol, who looks intrigued.

"I can't tell you. It's like a trump card or a hand."

Even if I tell you honestly, you either doubt the facts or you doubt your sanity. Akira misled appropriately. I didn't lie.

I guess Carol didn't think she could give me details either. Laugh lightly and talk.

"Yes. If this isn't the case, I'd like to take the time to dictate and ask, but now is not the time. And no mechanical monsters roaming the city block will come into the building because someone destroyed the drone outside."

The look on Carol's face I've talked about so far clouds me.

"... there shouldn't have been. There are mechanical monsters in the ruins of Mihazono Street that hold territory and are like sections under guard, and never leave the area. So when you encounter troublesome monsters in the ruins of Mihazono Street, it's often helpful to escape into a nearby building. Thanks to this, hunters can operate relatively safely. This is also why there are so many hunters operating in the ruins of Mihazono Street that there are outposts in the hunter's office."

Akira asks strangely.

"Then why is this happening?

Carol answers with a slight scream distorting her expression.

"I don't know that! Until now, I have! There were no monsters in the building, and no monsters outside entered the building! Even when the hunter who was being chased by the monster ran into this building, the monster who came after that hunter never entered the building! If there's a reason, I want to know!

Akira and the others have no reason to know, but the reason is simple. Seranthal, the building's administrative personality, gave permission to enter the building. At the same time, he asked for backup to destroy the hunters who were intruders. As a result, the mechanical monsters who were in the city block have been killed upon request.

Akira talks smugly as she runs.

"I knew the ruins of the old world were scary. I don't know when or what's gonna happen."

Seeing Akira not moving, Carol also talks with a bitter smile as she regains her composure.

"... right. I was overconfident with the advance information too."

Akira switches her mind and asks.

"By the way, I see you can't go down there. Where are we going now? There's no escape from climbing the building, is there? Are you gonna stand somewhere and cage me? Or are you just fleeing appropriately?

"No, I'm not. I told you, didn't I? There's a back door. Use it to get out."

Akira sounds surprised when she hears an unexpected word.

"... is there an escapable back entrance to the building on the upper floor of the building?

"I'm not telling you to believe anything else. Whatever you want.... Well, I won't even tell you not to follow me in this situation. It would be useless to say it. Ha..."

Carol exhaled with a giving up look.

If you keep Akira attached, you will naturally be guided to the location of the back entrance, which is the information you tried to sell for 5 million aurum. But in this situation, if you don't pay, don't follow me, etc. In this situation, which is being chased by a bunch of mechanical monsters, if you are hostile to Akira, you will be left with a boulder.

Akira starts saying unexpected things when she laments her bad luck when Carol ends up teaching only (just) without denying (no) a lot of money information.

"If you're telling me not to follow you, I'm breaking up here, but should I?

Carol stopped unexpectedly when she was told something unexpected. That's why Akira overtakes Carol. Akira stops in a hurry, looks back and speaks surprisingly.

"Don't stop. I guess I'm in a hurry. Or is this the back door?

Carol looks at Akira with a mixed look of surprise and suspicion. Keep that look on your face and ask in a tone of strong suspicion.

"... are you serious?

"Oh. I don't want any more enemies in this situation either. Carol seems pretty strong."

Carol stares at Akira. I'm trying to tell the truth from the tone and expression. And her experience and understanding gave the answer. Akira is serious, he said.

Carol stunned herself when she said this was the situation.

Akira's thoughts are basically the same as Carol's. I just can't afford to be hostile to Carol in this situation. But so I just made the biased, threaded choice of compromising and helping each other because I had no choice, not taking the distance into account the possibility of the other choosing to be prepared to kill each other with more enemies because I had no choice.

"... I don't know what it is, but if you're standing there, I'll go first."

That's all Akira left to say, really put Carol down and started moving on. If you stay here any longer, you will be swallowed by a herd of mechanical monsters approaching from downstairs. We have to move on first.

He returns to me when he sees Akira running away. And when he hurries to run past Akira laughing invincibly, he leads Akira in a good mood and loving smile.

"This way."

Akira declares once and for all.

"You're not gonna pay for this, are you?

Listening to Akira's declaration, which did not show any compromise, did not change Carol's grin.

"I know. So why don't we make a deal? Escort me until you're safe. That'll offset the information fee at the back door. What do you say?"

"So you're offsetting for five million aurums. You're very generous."

"You can't have money in the afterlife. I can't help but get a little high. That's why I'm asking for Akira's ammunition."

It would be convenient if we could get out of the building without hostility. I am not dissatisfied with the terms. Akira decides so and answers.

Copy that.

Carol smiles invincibly.

"We have a deal. I hope so. Proper protection."

We were to interrupt the site expeditiously, but the request was still a request. Akira answers firmly.

"I'll do better as a hunter than I did as a favor."

"You're reliable."

In the lead of Carol, who laughed in a good mood, Akira and the others proceeded inside an unusual serental building.

Thanks to Carol, who has already explored the Serantal Building many times, Akira and the others have proceeded without hesitation through the complex structure of the building. The enemy appears from the rear, so its repelling becomes Akira's job.

Instead of a mob crackdown application, a mechanical monster, apparently manufactured for killing purposes, turns the wheel attached to the tip of the multileg vigorously and follows it through scattered debris, etc. Considering it a scattered indoor move, it's pretty fast.

Akira hurries ahead by shooting at the enemy torso area before being caught up, destroying it in one blow and turning it into an obstacle blocking the passage. Individuals with machine guns are destroyed as a top priority. There is no need to look back to detect the enemy thanks to Alpha's enemies. When attacking, he looks back almost (mostly) without slowing down, steals the enemy's ability to fight with one blow, and immediately follows Carol.

Carol laughs confirming Akira's prowess.

(Sometimes a boulder will just destroy a monster of Selantarville security by itself.) It's a big deal at this age. If you're as old as you think you are.

There are many hunters of unknown age. The hunter's body is the operation of capital. Hunters performing anti-aging treatments are not uncommon in order to maintain and improve their physical abilities. Body cells may mutate due to, for example, an overdose of restorative medicines, causing the appearance of aging to progress, or vice versa. Some people recover if they receive appropriate treatment but do not cure it intentionally.

Some of them do not match the age of appearance with the actual age of the systemic prosthetic. A righteous person can dress as much as he looks. Cyborgs, for example, are almost impossible to discern age from appearance. It's not unusual for a hunter to not guess the age of appearance for those reasons.

Ask as Carol joins Akira in turning a mechanical monster into iron scraps.

"Hey, how old is Akira?

"I don't."

Carol decided it was because she didn't want to answer Akira's reply, so we talked.

"Yes. If you don't want to tell me, I'm not going to force you to ask. I keep my age a secret, and sometimes when someone asks me, I say I'm pretty old."

But Akira answers normally.

"No, I really don't. I don't even know my birthday, because I spent a long time not knowing how many years, months and days I had today. Someone never told me about my birthday or my age. That's why I don't know my age."

"... yes"

That's all Carol said and stopped asking any more. I don't know my exact age. It's not uncommon for hunters from Slam Street. And some people care about it.

It didn't seem like Akira was lying to Carol. It sounded like a normal answer, but it could be strong. It won't be about listening out until you're ready to be disgusted in this situation. Think of it that way and ask another thing instead.

"So how many years have you been a hunter? I'll leave the counting of hunter history to Akira."

Sometimes a hunter starts running for a number of reasons by simply registering a hunter to replace his ID and someone who has not been running a specific hunter for a long period of time. Some officially register hunters after a long period of collecting relics and crusading monsters without registering hunters due to various circumstances. Some people do not include periods below Hunter Rank 10 in their hunter history.

Due to those circumstances, many people do not match their self-proclaimed hunter history with the period after hunter registration. Some hunters care a lot about how to count their hunter history. Carol asked after leaving the counting to Akira for those reasons.

Akira answers after saying a few words.

"... not very long. Pretty short, I'll just say."

"Really? Then you're a young hunter. If you're a young hunter and you're good at it, it's a big deal."

"I was just lucky."

It depends precisely on the support of Alpha. It wouldn't necessarily be a mistake because I was lucky enough to meet Alpha. Akira thought so.

Carol decides Akira's response is humble and tells her to be a little seditious.

"Oh, luck is in strength, isn't it? Especially not when you're dead, Hunter."

Akira answers with a bitter smile.

"Right. Well, we're losing a lot of strength."

"If you go home alive, you'll be fine. Is Akira going to do that, too?

"Naturally."

Akira and the others rushed ahead before their luck ran out and a more deadly situation.

Akira and the others are running the shortest distance to the stairs thanks to Carol's guidance. But there were many places where the stairs to the upper floors were sealed off, and each time it was necessary to cross the floor with a view to another staircase on that floor.

Akira squeaks in trouble.

"How come it's all so sealed up? What? Is that someone's harassment?

Carol answers with a laugh.

"If it's someone's harassment, that would mean Seranthal's harassment. She explains the management personality of this building, because it seems to be closed now. I really think it was all closed. Perhaps what's open now is where the hunter who broke into the building was forced to open it."

"Oh, I see"

It's very hard to open the old world doors. It takes a lot of work to open it physically, electronically. Some hunters will work on the door so that only they can open it in order not to let the subsequent hunters carry the relics. And the hunters who break it.

What Akira and the others are passing through is the part where the doors were physically and electronically destroyed and left open as a result of those attacks. They don't even have hunters to repair doors that have been so destroyed in boulders.

"Does that mean that maybe there aren't as many open places as upstairs?

Carol affirms Akira's expectations.

"I'm afraid you're right. We're aiming at the 45th floor, but be prepared to move over the 40th floor to another staircase every time you climb the ground floor."

"I don't know who opened it, but did you deliberately open it that way to make other hunters climb upstairs and make it difficult? That's a hassle. What are you thinking?"

"Maybe the cartographer deliberately opened it to make it easier to get lost in order to sell the building's internal structure at a high price."

"That's possible."

If a cartographer sells a map of a site, the more dangerous and stray the site becomes. Akira exhaled as she was convinced to hear Carol explain.

Akira and the others move on as they repel the mechanical monsters that follow them from behind. Sometimes I'm going the shortest distance thanks to Carol's proper guidance, and I've never been ahead of the mechanical monsters on another route. That had planted a little bit of awareness in Akira and Carol that the enemy was only in the rear.

Although slightly, Akira and the others' vigilance forward was neglected. Due to the fact that a large number of mechanical monsters are chasing us, we cannot afford to stay long in order to be vigilant forward. It may be harsh to call that alarming.

But there's no difference that Akira and the others were lowering their alert in the direction of progress. It could happen. It happened.

Akira and the others are climbing the stairs leading to the 40th floor. Carol, who is leading the way, runs up the stairs, and right behind him is Akira. When Carol saw the door sealing off the stairs to the 41st floor, she hurried into the 40th floor.

The moment you get inside the floor, Carol's movements solidify. The same was true of Akira, who looked inside the floor from behind Carol. There were several mechanical monsters waiting for Akira and the others.

It is a mechanical monster with tired multilegs and multi-articulated arms at the tip from the lateral torso carrying a heavy firearm on its back. Those were a few guards at the entrance and exit of the floor.

Stunning stops Carol from moving. The only way to go from the lower floor to the 40th floor should have been the stairs that Carroll and the others went through. Carol's prediction is that there can't be a monster here.

The same is true of Akira who was surprised. The surprise had stopped Akira slightly.

I watch mechanical monsters pointing the muzzle at me in a world where Carol slowly progresses. I won't let you. Carol didn't have time to feel the fear of death, and somehow she calmly understood just that.

The next moment, Akira jumps into Carol's sight. Stand with your back to the enemy's muzzle, blocking the ray and trying to shield Carol. Almost simultaneously, the enemy's muzzle erupted fire simultaneously.

Countless bullets are fired into Akira's back. In response to the impact of the landing, Akira managed to withstand the full physical capability of the fortified clothing. And with his back to the enemy, he pulled the trigger immediately by pointing a gun at the enemy in the rear by bending his arm back forcefully, ignoring the joint range of motion slightly as he continued to be shot at the back.

It's a shooting from an impossible position. Normally I don't hit it. But Alpha overturned that normality by aiming. The fired heavy loads hit all bullets. Enemy machine guns are destroyed one after the other.

Carol also moves to the immediate counterattack. Shooting enemies with powerful guns like CWH objective assault guns while shielding Akira. The fuselage blown through the torso part is destroyed one after the other.

The offense ended in less than ten seconds. When the shooting stopped, all mechanical monsters were defeated. Thanks to Akira's shelter, Carol is intact. And Akira, who was shot in the back, threw up blood and fell.

Carol, who confirmed the destruction of the enemy, hurries to see how Akira is doing.

"Akira! It's okay!?

The enemy shooting did not penetrate Akira's fortified clothes. But it couldn't kill the impact of the landing, and it was damaging the interior. Akira's vomited blood drips onto the floor.

Akira spit the blood she had left in her mouth on the floor beside her as she woke herself up. Unload the rucksack, remove the recovery pills, and immediately swallow them in your mouth. I have already experienced the effect of a healing drug that is worth the price.

Akira shrugged her face without distortion.

"Oh, my..."

Akira squeaked without distorting (boiling) her face.

"Mine, relics..."

The surrounding area was littered with the remains of relics of the old world that Akira had carried so far, which had been used as Akira's shield and destroyed and crushed by gunfire.
