Rebuild World

119 Togami's determination

Akira and the others move on to the city section of the ruins of Mihazono Street. Akira, who watched the sights around her as she drove her car, noticed that the neighborhood was prettier (prettier) than it was yesterday. The debris and mechanical monster debris scattered on the street had been cleared and at least removed from the side of the road.

Akira squeaks strangely.

"The road is cleaned, but who cleaned it?

Carol answers Akira's whining.

"It's probably a hunter's office unit that's in the process of taking control of the city block on the ruins of Mihazono Street. We must have cleaned the passage to make it easier to transport supplies, etc. to the front."

"Oh, speaking of which, are you doing that? Will these rescue requests disappear once the unit has finished taking control of the city block?"

"It depends on the degree of control. Probably, but Hunter's office troops should be pulling back by the time they've made some ground breaks in the city block. Monsters overflow (flood) on the ground of the site, improving the difficult situation of even maintaining a hunter's office outpost. And see if the monster from the Mihazono Street ruins leaves for the wilderness. I don't think I'd do anything more."

"May I ask why you judge me so?

"Right. The ruins of Mihazono Street are too vast to take complete control of the ruins and make them managerial sites for the Unified Enterprise and nearby cities. It is also very difficult to remain alert to monsters that appear out of nowhere everywhere in the ruins. If Tong Qi Lian is serious, it will be possible, but I don't think the maintenance costs and revenue will go hand in hand."

In other words, if you can anticipate a black deficit, do it. In fact, the Unified Enterprise Union built a Kugamayama city to attack the ruins of Kuzhara Street.

Carol keeps talking.

"Even if monsters of Mihazono Street ruins overflow (flood) the surrounding wilderness, leave them if there is a good chance of fatal damage to nearby cities. Conversely, if that's likely, we need to send a city defense force. Either way, the troops we're sending to this site right now will withdraw once we've checked the situation."

Even if Akira just remembers, Kugamayama City has been raided by monsters three times. It is not clear to Akira whether that is the result of someone's misperception of the damage to the city, which has not occurred inside the Kugamayama city fence in three raids. It may have been woven, such as damage to lower compartments, especially in slum streets.

Akira was listening with interest to Carol.

Carol's judgment is the result of scrutiny of the vast amount of information that goes into the basement. Akira doesn't have that information with her. I don't even have the art of getting that information together. And Carol has both.

Akira has a little respect for Carol about it. Carol noticed the slightest change in Akira.

Akira shows admiration and interest in what she would normally notice if she had some hunter history. If you convert your strength as a hunter from your combat abilities, the more unusual you are, the less you are to basic information as a hunter. It is also a vice that gained momentarily strength with the benefit of Alpha's support.

Carol conceives.

(I'm curious as to why Akira is so neglectful of the hunter's general knowledge that it is incompatible with that combat ability, but for now, it's not too late to explore why. Now first......)

Carol smiles and talks to Akira in disguise.

"Akira doesn't really look into hunter operations, does she? Talk about the relics we're talking about, the types of relics that are rising in price, the fashionable (still) gear, and recent trends in hunters."

"... yes, but"

If you make excuses, Akira couldn't even read or write her name until recently. Prior to his general common sense as a hunter, even the general common sense of humans living in the east was a suspicious state. Akira is also interested in the information in her hand, but because of her daily studies and training, she can't afford to spend it collecting that information.

"Then I'll teach you a lot. Akira should know a little bit about that, too."

Reply to Akira twisted (twisted) reply.

"I'm already supposed to pay Carol 10 million aurums. I'm not giving you an extra minute."

Carol answers with a bitter smile.

"I won't take money with that amount of information. I was just wondering what it was like to have a chat."

"... let me know if that's the case"

Although Akira hesitated a little, she did decide to listen because it was a story of interest.

"Okay. First of all, you know, I'm at the ruins of Mihazono Street, so I'll tell you a lot about this ruin."

Carol began to talk in a good mood about the ruins of Mihazono Street.

Akira listens to Carol with interest. Carol continues to talk to Akira as she smiles (cheeks) with pleasure, thinking this would be the time to earn Akira's favor.

Carol learned more complex emotions about the beauty of her pride and how Akira was better at eating than when she invited her in with her flesh. But I put it aside for now and continued to enjoy talking about topics that might interest me to get closer to Akira.

Togami is sitting in the long chair inside the armoured personnel transport vehicle. He continues to think with a serious look in the car that is subtly left with a dead odor.

Togami is solidifying herself with pretty high performance gear. It's all a loan from Drunkham, but if you buy it, it's all gear that lightly exceeds 100 million aurum. Guns, fortified clothing, information-gathering equipment, restorative drugs and other consumables are just some of the best things being supplied to young Drancam. Not even Katsuya, who is backshielding an executive named Mizha, has been given high performance gear so far.

Togami is set to have a successful prize-neck crusade with a small team headed by ostensibly Shikarabe. Some of Drancam's executives know the circumstances behind it, but their rewards must go with it, beyond what is about to appear apparent. As a result, Togami obtained permission to lend very high-performance equipment.

I would have been pleased if Drancam had gradually recognized his strength in the past. Or (some) may have even spilled stupidity when it was too late to admit.

Previously, Togami was convinced that he was undervalued by his surroundings. ambient standards, that is, the powerful among the young hunters of Drancam. That remains the same now. That's why Togami was expected to be an anti-katsuan. That certainty had given Togami excessive confidence and made him take a dignified attitude, for better or worse.

But that bounty neck crusade has changed everything. I don't have the confidence I once had in togami today. That confidence has been crushed. So much so that I suspect that the high performance gear I've been given is just plausible, expecting me to wear gear beyond my own.

After the bounty neck crusade, Togami continued to worry about whether he was all just a disguise in the past. I kept worrying without even being able to talk to someone. I alternately reflected on my glorious work in the past and my unrivalled self in the Battle of Tankrantula, both of which continued to haunt me without acknowledging my strength.

Togami decided to wait for an opportunity to confirm her strength in a convincing way after her troubles. What is the opportunity to confirm? I kept waiting, thinking about the content.

Acting with other young hunters who belong to Drancam cannot be confirmed. Because Shikarabe's words creeping into his head pointing out in the dark that Togami is just a misguided bastard with a high hunter rank.

After putting aside some time to regain his cool, Togami realized that Shikarabe's story was just like a bad mouth to his opponent, who was on track. But when I realized it, I couldn't get rid of it completely. That's part of it, but it's proof that I agree with the story.

If you can accompany Shikarabe and work without a disgusting color yourself, if you get results, you will be able to recognise your strengths again, even if that is self-assessment. That's what Togami concluded after worrying.

Togami was originally planning to join the troops that Drancam was sending to the ruins of Mihazono Street. However, at Togami's request, he was to accompany Shikarabe abruptly. He's one of only four hunters who defeated Tankrantula. To that extent, I went through.

Togami was ready to join Elena and her team in order to reassert her strength in a satisfactory way. Togami squeaks like he tells himself.

"I identify myself with this request. As a result, I don't mind if I'm a weak misguided bastard. I'll just work it out again. I'm sorry I keep being such a weak mistake."

Once again, Togami was determined.

Togami will double-check the team's personnel. There are six members of the team: Shikarabe, Togami, Akira, Elena, Sarah and Carol. After thinking of all of them, I began to distort (boil) my expression a little confused.

(It's convenient to be reunited with Akira. It's a good opportunity to see what he's capable of again.... Whatever that looks like, what does Akira mean when she brings a dressed hunter who's inviting a guy?

Togami was quite surprised to see Akira, but more than that, he was surprised at Carol's appearance next to Akira. Togami's familiarity with women is quite normal. Carol's cruel, seductive (frightening) outfit, which makes it easy to imagine the shaping of luscious flesh hidden in fortified clothing, is too exciting for togami and men of his generation.

(Harlem Squad doesn't make you dress like that, does it, Katya?... Is that your hobby?

He says he prefers heroic colors, but be Akira or Katsuya, is there such an aspect to those who excel extraordinarily as hunters? Looking at one side of the wall (now), which had not even imagined a person who had driven his perception greatly mad, Togami had deepened his ideas in another direction and roared.

When Akira was being slandered by Togami without me, Akira and the others, who were proceeding through the city section of the ruins of Mihazono Street, encountered a group blocking the road. It's a hunter's office unit that's in the process of taking control of the city block on the ruins of Mihazono Street.

The road was fitted with a longitudinal object with a wound opening from which thin metal was extended laterally. Installation of a simple protective wall with force field armor. Easy to carry and light to the extent of artillery shells, it has a defense to return bullets and bullets, and is also used in wilderness, when creating simple bases inside ruins, etc.

Personnel equipped with heavy reinforced clothing and vehicles equipped with large machine guns can also be seen in the vicinity of the simplified protective wall. The scene was equipped with firepower that could instantly become fine wood dust (mistletoe), such as a flock of concurrent mechanical monsters.

Negotiate with the person who is defending Elena when she stops the car. On-site personnel gave instructions to subordinates to disarm some of the simplified barriers. The thin metal that was blocking the road was wound up and made passable.

A rep advises Elena.

"Be careful. A pretty big one attacked me a while back. The little one also attacked a little bit. I know you remember your arm because you're the hunter who took on the rescue request, but if you move on with the feeling of the previous Mihazono Street ruins, you're gonna die."

That's what the rep said and pointed in the direction Akira and the others were about to go. In that direction, the remains of a large mechanical monster were rolling. The wreckage is mixed with destroyed artillery and missile pods. I guess it was a pretty powerful monster.

"Thanks. I'll be careful."

Elena thanked the man and let the car go. Shikarabe and Akira's car also continues afterwards. As Akira's car passed through the simple barrier, the simple barrier was immediately closed.

Akira sees the sight ahead through the simple barrier from the driver's seat. The wreckage and debris of mechanical monsters rolling all over the road represented a clear difference between the inside and the outside of the simple fence.

Akira talks as she looks around.

"You have more wreckage of mechanical monsters than yesterday. Did the outside become more dangerous just as the inner monster decreased and became safer?

Carol in the passenger seat answers as she checks her surroundings.

"That's how many monsters have already been destroyed, so we can say that's all we've got, right?

"It would be the same if it was replenished just for the reduced amount. This much debris is scattered. Isn't it replenished from somewhere just for being knocked down?

"I've heard stories about old world cleaning machines unwittingly collecting debris that remains scattered around the ruins and using it as a material to produce new monsters, but it doesn't make it a material for new monsters while they're rolling around in the debris, and I don't think the extras will replenish that easily"

"As much as we don't need to recover the wreckage as an additional portion of the material, maybe we have a large inventory of mechanical monsters. Mihazono Street ruins have factory compartments, don't they? Is there a warehouse or something?

Akira returns her pessimistic opinion of Carol's optimistic opinion. Carol looked at Akira like that with a little surprise (a lot). Akira notices that Carol's gaze and attitude.

"... what the hell"

"That's how Akira acts quite unplanned, to keep the situation alert and, in one way or another, pessimistic. He went to the ruins of Mihazono Street without any guidance to rendezvous with the Elenas, and he tried to do something else with me while the monsters were chasing him in the Serantalville. If Akira has a habit of taking things pessimistically, it would seem good to act a little more thoughtfully. I just thought so."

Following Carol's point, Akira shut up stuck in words.

Akira perceives the situation pessimistically because she understands that she is unlucky or assumes that she is.

He was unluckily robbed of a hunter crash, unluckily caught up in a monster herd raid, and unluckily battled an artifact robber as well. If you're lucky in the first place, you didn't live in Slam Street. That's what Akira thought.

In fact Akira is not as unlucky as she herself assumes so unconsciously. If you were really unlucky in the first place, you wouldn't have had any extra-large luck, such as meeting Alpha and benefiting from that support.

I was baked a lot of care at a Sizka store I accidentally visited. I met Elena and Sarah at the ruins and later survived a monster herd raid with the help of two people. Those events are also things that have luckily happened. Good luck to Akira, too.

To put it badly, Akira is just twisting me. Or (some) may just believe the story that I ran out of all my luck in meeting Alpha.

Also, Akira is not acting as unplanned as Carol pointed out. At least Akira herself thinks so. As a result of the various priorities within Akira, Carol decided to take action that looked like it. That's all I'm talking about as Akira.

But Akira couldn't put the rationale for that priority in her mouth. Because it includes Alpha and Elena and the others. Instead, answer to misdemonize appropriately.

"Well, I have a lot of things, too. Besides, it would be a good thing to proceed unannounced through the ruins of the old world, wouldn't it?

Carol was as easy to grasp as Akira was properly misdemonizing something she didn't want to say. Considering that poor pursuit, however, would offend my heart certificate, I decided to talk to each other appropriately.

"I agree with that. It's just not good to be overly pessimistic because it's hard if you're too pessimistic about the situation, overly vigilant about it, and encounter enemies in a state that grinds (softens) and reduces your spirit. That's what I'm trying to say."

"Oh. You mean that. Okay. It's okay."

Akira snorted lightly at Carol's words. Akira's expression had a slight relief (mostly) of escaping Carol's pursuit.

I think of Carol as she looks at Akira's expression.

(... I wonder why Akira even came to the ruins of Mihazono Street to rendezvous with Elena and the others, even the day after that happened in the Serantalville. Simply showing yourself to a friend? Or because Akira is the one who wants to be close? Or maybe he's actually a distant lover of his age? Even so......)

Carol whines.

"... if you're not willing to make a public statement, you don't have to hesitate."

"Did I say something?

"Hmm? Nothing."

Carol replied with a laugh of fun.

Akira and the others proceed outside the city section of the ruins of Mihazono Street, a simple barrier controlled by troops from the Hunter's Office.

The situation on the outside of the blockade is harsher than it was yesterday. There was so much scattering on the road that it was even difficult to get through if it was a city spec car. Thanks to the wilderness specifications of the vehicle it has not become incapable of progression, but it has limits. Akira and the others slow down and move on.

Except for the slightly slower pace of travel, Akira and the others were well on their way through the ruins' city section. There was only one enemy attack on the move. That's just a few small mechanical monsters out there. It was easy to grind without being very strong.

Akira asks Alpha.

"It's outside the blockade, but it's going without a particular raid. Alpha. There aren't any monsters around, are there?

Alpha denies Akira's words lightly.

I'm here.

Akira asks with a little surprise.

"Are you there? Let me know if you're here. Where? '

Akira looks around. But there is no such thing around.

Alpha laughs and answers.

"It's dotted around the perimeter at regular intervals. Don't worry, it's not going to hit you. '

Alpha expands Akira's vision. Mechanical monsters are reflected in Akira's vision through the shield. The other side separated by buildings. Behind the building. In the wreckage on the side of the road. It was hidden in various places. As Alpha pointed out, he doesn't seem willing to attack Akira and the others. The monsters stood still without moving.

Akira gives me a surprising look.

"Why aren't those guys attacking me?

'I can think of many reasons. It's a reconnaissance aircraft with low direct combat capability, sending our information to our allies. He deters from raiding because he decides that he has a low chance of winning because he is a vehicle opponent. Along the way we are calling reinforcements, we are waiting for a certain amount of power. Maybe that's it.'

Safe, what is it?

'It's not coming at me. Even if it strikes, it can be repelled without any problems. If that's what you mean. All monsters are basically dangerous. That's why they call me a monster. "

"No, well, I am."

I don't know why, even though I remember something unintelligible. Alpha says he can repel without a problem. You won't need to pay undue attention. Akira stopped caring any more.

A large multi-legged tank existed outside the enemy range of Akira's enemy equipment. Has damage to the airframe but retains sufficient combat capability. The damage was caused by an engagement with a man-made weapon dispatched by the Hunter's Office. I mean, it's a monster, it's an enemy.

An enemy device mounted on the enemy's fuselage captured Akira and the others. The footage transmitted from the enemy planes deployed around the perimeter shows Akira's vehicle on the move. A large multi-legged tank, called the A-S101, is a fuselage whose main task is to destroy similar enemies, that is, tanks and man-made weapons.

Akira's vehicle and Akira and Carroll are shown in the footage of the target perceived by the controller of type A S101. Alpha is not shown.

Formula A S101 aligns cannon aiming to Akira. It is a powerful cannon that destroys man-made weapons for urban defense. Bullet speed is fast, powerful, and has a wide range of effects. If you hit it directly, Akira's vehicle and so on will be devastated by a single blow. I'm not even sorry about the crew.

Shortly before the shell was fired from the cannon, an alpha appears in the footage in the control device of type A S101. When Alpha displays some sort of crest beside herself, she shakes her neck in silence as she points to it.

The A-S101 formula, recognizing its crest, halted the attack on Akira and the others. He then returned to standby until he discovered his next enemy.

Akira and the others arrive at their destination. The destination is a three-story building in a city block on the ruins of Mihazono Street. Parked the car on the side of the building, and they all got out of the car and gathered together.

Elena gives Akira and the others the results by gently shaking her neck while operating the information terminal.

"... no. No response. Instead of responding to short-range communications, there's not even a trace of transmission."

Elena was trying to contact the rescuer, but unfortunately she was ending up failing.

Ask Elena as Sikarabe grasps the situation.

"Even if the rescue target had been wiped out, it would seem good to have about the communication reaction of the information terminal..., but was it attacked by a monster with excessive firepower and subjected to wooden dust (mince) for every piece of equipment? You're pretty sure the place is here, aren't you?

"As long as you trust the source information, it's definitely here."

Akira and the others look inside the building through the entrance and exit of the building. The interior of the building is very dark without light. There's no sign that they were sealing off the entrance or exit.

If the person being rescued is here, it is likely that he is standing somewhere in the inside room of the building. Conversely, there is a good chance that the information on the location of the rescue target is incorrect and that no one is present.

Akira and the others are peeking into the back of the building with a lot of ideas. I'm watching a lot of mechanical monsters gushing out of the interior of the building yesterday. That's why I didn't feel comfortable entering and exploring the building to search for rescue targets.

But you can't just go home like this. Elena and the others came here after a rescue request from an intermediary. Because of our track record of doing a good job based on prior information, even if the rescue target is not already here, we need records that we searched quite a few designated locations and there was no one there.

I can excuse that it was too late if there were a pile of mechanical monsters inside the building, but I can't go home without checking that it's more than a situation that seems like it could be investigated lightly.

Elena exhales lightly, then changes her expression to something serious and gives instructions.

"I have no choice. Let's search the inside. I, Sarah, Akira and Carol search the inside. Shikarabe and the others need to be on alert. Let me know as soon as you have something. If we don't return after an hour, and we can't get in touch with you, Sikarabe and the others will return and request our rescue."

Shikarabe nodded lightly and answered.

"Copy that. In that case, can we decide where to send the rescue request?

"The source of our request is Alhain Insurance, so please leave it there first with a status report. I'll leave it to you to judge any further."

Sikarabe laughs a little invincibly and answers.

"Okay. Do you offer Elena a generous reward for her rescue request and I take that request?

Answer with Elena smiling sparingly.

"Of course. If you honestly think I'm going to pay you what Sikarabe has decided to do."

Sarah and Carol laughed lightly at Shikarabe and Elena's light pick-up.

Akira looked at both of them with a slightly more intriguing look. Behind that light dispatch (or pick-up) is vast knowledge and implicit common sense of emergency response. Akira doesn't really understand those prerequisites. I haven't had enough experience as a hunter yet. Akira's ability to fight improved dramatically thanks to Alpha's support, but her experience with hunter operations can only be increased to tunnels.

Togami had a disgruntled look on his face somewhere. Because I wanted to join the exploration in the building myself. Probably nothing happens even if you're alert to this place. That's why Sikarabe also doesn't complain about Elena dividing other firepower into searches inside the building. That's what Togami had decided.

Togami accompanies Shikarabe to identify his strengths. Of course, nothing could happen inside the building. But there will be more opportunities to see what you can do than to keep an eye out outside the building. Even if there was no such thing as encountering a monster, it makes sense to just see how it moves in dangerous ruins, or to just compare it to your movements.

After being a little lost, Togami asks Elena for a tense attitude.

"Um, I'd like to join you, too, can't you?

Elena looked at Togami with a slightly unexpected look before transferring her gaze to Shikarabe.

Sikarabe answers instead.

"No."

It was a concise word that would not make you feel at all negotiable or otherwise.

Sycarabe speaks in a tone that mixes mildly irritating (needy) and taunting togami with an unsatisfactory expression.

"If you pull Elena and the others' legs, I'll take the blame. Do you want me to follow you around?"

"... ok"

Thogami answered that, while leaving a disgruntled look on his face.

Shikarabe gives me an unexpected look. Because I thought they were going to argue with me to bite. Shikarabe is distracted by the way Togami honestly follows his expectations.

"Just, well, you know what?"

Seeing Togami, who had begun his perimeter vigilance as instructed, Shikarabe was leaning (covering) his neck.

Akira and the others, equipped for internal exploration, enter the building on guard. Proceed with a slightly stronger lighting illuminating the interior of the building. The strong light emitted from the lighting scratches (or extinguishes) the darkness in the sunless building and stretches back through slight gaps. Elena is intentionally turning the lights on so that rescue targets can easily find Akira and the others from the light.

Traces of combat were everywhere in the building. There are countless bullet marks on floors and walls, and the remains of mechanical monsters are scattered around them. There were no hunter's body or blood marks. The hunters who engaged them seem to have taken off the scene safely.

Ask Alpha as Akira checks her surroundings with vigilance.

"Alpha. Can't you find any monsters or rescue targets?

"I can't confirm it within my bounds."

'Right. It's not that big of a building, and if Alpha can't find it even if she's looking, she can't do it anymore.'

Akira also understands that Alpha's ability to fight foes is high performance and extensive by the time they are unusual. Akira unconsciously relaxed a little when she found out she had no enemies or rescue targets.

Akira's relaxation was quickly noticed by Elena and the others. Normally, you should blame Akira for suddenly relaxing somewhere to be vigilant. But all three knew Akira's unnatural ability to fight, so they didn't pay attention to Akira.

Sarah asks Elena.

"Elena. Did you find anything?

"No, my information-gathering equipment doesn't respond to anything like this either."

Elena's information-gathering equipment also supported Akira's attitude. After all, there doesn't seem to be any rescued hunters or monsters around here.

Elena and Sarah realize Akira is an old realm connector. However, in order to realize it, Akira had stopped questioning the strange things that she occasionally showed, such as the unusual ability to oppose enemies, and judging them to be the abilities of the old realm connectors. I had no idea there was an alpha-like presence behind it.

Sarah looks at Akira once now and checks Akira's current gear. Reinforced clothing at prices beyond the reach of a rushing hunter. And a large, heavy-duty gun that's even hard to carry without that fortified clothing physical ability. Those are proof that Akira is a good hunter.

(When I met us, Akira had only about AAH assault guns, and only clothes that weren't fortified or protective. That's how much gear we've got in this short period of time. Besides, the opponents are like Elena and have no problems with their combat abilities.... At this rate, Akira will be able to outrun us in no time. How much time we have left to act as hunter seniors to Akira)

How much later will Akira treat the seniors they rely on? Sarah grinned lightly as she felt a slight loneliness thinking about it.

Carol conceives by confirming Sarah and Elena's reaction to Akira's loosening of vigilance.

(Even if Akira suddenly loosens her guard, the two continue to have a natural attitude. Both of Ning's guards are lowering their perimeter. As far as the information-gathering equipment Elena is equipped with, I don't think they're the ones who neglect (or grate) Akira for no reason to be alert to her surroundings.... do they know why Akira's ability to defy the enemy? Or trust due to the length of your relationship with Akira? Because I had a similar experience enough to get used to the usual?

Even if Carol learns about Akira's unusual ability to oppose the enemy, she doesn't associate it with the old realm connectors. Because we know that being able to connect to the old realm has nothing to do with improving your ability to defy enemies. It may not be completely irrelevant, but at least it's not the basis for that unusual ability to oppose enemies. Carol knew that.

So Carol decided Akira's opponent was a one-size-fits-all talent hunter and didn't think Akira was an old realm connector.

(... I'd like to ask you a lot, but you should stop listening on this occasion)

If Carol asks Elena and the others about them on this occasion, she naturally goes into Akira's ear as well. I don't know what makes a snake. If you ask a lot, you need to at least listen in the absence of Akira. It is also necessary to try to ask simple questions as naturally as possible.

From Elena and the others' reaction to that question, you should also be able to get some idea of whether it's a good topic to ask Akira directly. Carol looked at her unfamiliar face as she calmed her inner curiosity.

We explored the building temporarily, but there was no one here. Elena declares the end of her exploration. Akira and the others returned beneath Shikarabe and the others.
