Chapter 175 - 2.55 What Just Happened? (1)
Sora and Brie allowed Diana over whenever she wanted too. They spent the next few weeks getting to know each other, and eventually Xander worked up the courage to ask her to be her girlfriend. Diana was happy, and Xander asked Sora if her parents could come over for dinner.
They agreed her parents were a bit star-struck. It’s not every day you get to sit down and have dinner with the King and Queen of Exteria at their home.
"So how has Diana been behaving?" Her mom asked.
"She’s so sweet. I’m glad you two like Xander. He told us you’re both very good people with good hearts." Brie said with her typical bubbly charisma.
"Aw, that’s nice of him. He didn’t have to say that." Her dad said.
"If there’s one person in this world we can absolutely guarantee is telling the truth about someone, it’s him. I don’t think he’s told Diana his ability yet, so we won’t share either." Sora said politely.
"How gifted is that boy? At least give us that." Her mom asked sincerely.
"Much smarter than his father!" Brie laughed.
"Seriously, he’s an amazing kid. We spent 8 years in Paradise, which is only 8 days here, before he finally was over it but he was raised by us, his grandmother Aphrodite and Grandfather Cyrus, and as Xander calls her, his ’Nana Fena," she continued.
"Woah. Our daughter is dating someone who was personally trained and raised by the absolute ruler?" Her Dad exclaimed.
Sora and Brie chuckled. "Yes. You should have seen Xander’s reaction when she asked him if she’d be his boyfriend. He didn’t know what to say or do, he just shook his head yes and ran away."
Xander and Diana walked in holding hands.
’Wow, they seem really happy.’ Xander thought. ’Still nice and green in the body. She has great parents... I wonder if I should tell her. I probably should, she told me hers.’
"Your ears burning kiddo? We were just talking about you. Are you two hungry?" Brie asked.
"Diana, I could eat if you want too, otherwise we can do something else. Up to you."
"Do you mind if we join you?" Diana asked her parents.
"Sure, let me go make a plate for the two of you," Sora said while getting up.
They shared a nice dinner and before Diana had to leave, Xander asked her parents if he could talk to her for a little bit. They agreed so Xander excitedly grabbed her hand and they rushed out to the back courtyard.

"I’ll never get over how beautiful your house and this courtyard are." Diana said, admiring the night sky.
"I don’t think I will either... anyway, so, I’ve never really told you about my real ability."
"Well, you told me most of it!" Diana exclaimed. "You also helped me with mine, which was so sweet."
"Just please don’t be mad at me? First, I wanted to know if you would like to go to Sasha and Levi’s wedding with me this weekend?"
Diana playfully paused for a minute and pretended to think about it. Xander was visibly nervous, which made her smile. Her smile suddenly turned to a face filled with fear, and Xander noticed the colors in her head and immediately hugged her tightly and wouldn’t let her go.
"What’s wrong? I know something’s wrong because my real ability is I can see people’s emotions in their brain and if they’re a good or bad person in their body. You went from really happy to really scared. How can I help you?"
Xander noticed her head changed to relief, with a hint of love and happiness.
She clung to him tightly. "Bad news and good news! First, I’m not mad and your ability is so amazing! The bad news is something happens at the wedding I don’t want to talk about, but it involves your dad and someone bad. The good news is I didn’t see anything about us. That makes me so happy Xander. Thank you so much for helping me and being honest."
Xander didn’t know how to feel. He was relieved and happy, but the thought of another wedding incident wasn’t ideal. Even though he was a toddler when the first one happened, watching his step brother fight on his wedding day wasn’t good.
"Hey Diana, can we please go talk to my parents before we go? Do you mind sharing with my Dad?" Xander asked nervously.
"That depends." Diana said, twirling her hair with her finger and her face flush.
’Why is she nervous right now and why is there some pink in her brain?’ Xander thought.
"Depends on what?"
"Will you please kiss me?" She asked nervously.
"Kiss you?! I don’t even know how to do that!" Xander exclaimed as he started sweating.
"Oh, so you’re saying I do?" Diana joked.
Xander didn’t pick up on the joke and fumbled heavily.
"No! I didn’t say that! I don’t mean that at all... I just mean what do we even do?"
"Just kiss me silly. Aren’t you like the grandson of the goddess of love?"
Xander leaned in at the same time she did and they accidentally bumped heads.
"Sorry!" Xander exclaimed, giving her a large hug.
Diana laughed. She grabbed his shoulders and let him lean in. He slowly felt the warmth of her lips and was really happy. He pulled away quickly, only to notice Diana’s smile disappear.
"What’d I do wrong?" Xander asked.
"That’s it? Just a little peck?"
Xander kissed her more firmly this time, and she pressed her lips around his while she wrapped her arms around his shoulders. Xander used both hands to grab her sides gently. He didn’t want to pull her too close, but Diana leaned in further so his arms moved slightly to her lower back. Xander, for the first time, was able to tune out the colors of emotions he normally saw and he decided to slightly let go of her lips to change his angle, kissing her again. He’d seen enough people in his party kiss to at least try it. She gently lifted her foot off the ground, smiling while kissing him.
"Sora! Look!" Brie exclaimed.
"Quiet! I think you just busted him."
