Reincarnated as a Half-God with SSS Abilities

Author’s Note: Again, Xander is 14 and so is Diana. They both just graduated as freshman from high school. They won’t be intimate. Think of it as a cute, flirty relationship we all had when we were younger. Nothing sexual, just a first crush kind of thing. -AJK

As Diana grabbed Xander’s hand excitedly, they walked to the car hand in hand. Xander was exactly like his dad. His palms were sweaty, but Diana didn’t mind. They were only freshly graduated freshman.

"Woah, nice car. Is it new?" Diana said while she got in the backseat, which Rissa and Julius left for Xander and Diana.

"Yup. Dad got it for me this morning." Julius said with a large smile.

"Wait, are you a Lockheart? I’m confused." Diana asked politely.

"Kind of. They adopted me after my mom gave up her life to get me to Sorbella. They’ve treated me as their kid ever since. Xander’s like a little brother to me so be good to him." Julius explained, then teased.

"Of course! I don’t really care that he’s a god. I just think he’s super interesting. Like no one else in our school is interesting. Everyone’s always trying to flirt with me, even the upper classmen. It’s annoying."

Xander could tell she was being sincere, and it made him smile. They finally pulled in to the house and Xander turned to Diana.

"Hey, so, I have to sort of play gatekeeper for this party. My dad wants me to make sure all the guests are safe. You want to hang out with me while I do that?" He asked politely.

"What can’t you do?" she asked, laughing.

"Plenty of things." Xander shrugged.

"Ok, sounds good. We can hang out up front."

Julius and Rissa dropped them off and Sora and Brie appeared.

"Why hello, you must be the one who texted me?" Sora asked jokingly.

"Oh my gosh I’m so sorry! I thought Xander would have his own phone!"

Brie tossed Xander the same new model she gave Julius and Rissa earlier.

"That’s for being good to your brother and sister."

"Thanks mom!"

"Here, give me your phone." Diana exclaimed.

She texted herself with a "<3."

"Now you have my number and I don’t have to text your dad!"

Sora laughed. "That was the idea, yes. Hopefully Xander has lots of friends. Did he tell you about Paradise?"

"Dad!" Xander complained.

"Woah, wait? That’s why you haven’t been in school all year?"

"It’s a long story and one I’d rather not talk about, but yeah. My grandmas are kind of Athena and Aprohodite..." Xander’s face turned flush.

"Aw, that’s sweet. I love my grandparents. They’re super nice. My parents too. They said they wouldn’t have trusted me to go unless it was with your family– wait, sorry, no I didn’t mean it like–"

"It’s ok, I get it. They’re the King and Queen, of course they wouldn’t let anything happen to you. You should let them know I wouldn’t either," Xander said smiling.

"I know you wouldn’t. You have the most amazing parents, seriously, Mr. and Mrs. Lockheart, you two are like... super famous!" Diana said excitedly.

"Please, call us Brie and Sora. Just think of our son like a normal kid, that’s all we ask. He already has enough trouble with it internally. He just wants to live a normal life, which is hard for him to do." Brie said empathetically.

"I really don’t care if he’s a god. I told Julius and Rissa the same thing when they said something. I just think he’s super smart and super interesting. He’s a little quiet too, he has a little mystery to him. Better than all the other jerks throwing themselves at me like I’m some piece of meat. I hate it." Diana said with a frown.

"They don’t even care that I graduated with straight A’s in all honors classes."

"I know you did! You were the only one, Sera told me." Xander exclaimed.

"Sera? You mean Mrs. Nerissa? Isn’t she the one who just had a baby? How does she know?"

"How does she not know?! All the teachers talk about you all the time." Xander said while shaking his head and laughing.

"Safe dad." Xander said as another car pulled up.

This routine continued until Xander finally saw a red flag.

"I’ll take care of this. That’s not a child in the back." Xander bragged, expanding hopes wings out of his back. He was able to control it enough to not rip off his shirt and always carried a second one in his back pocket, just in case.

Diana didn’t seem phased by any of it.

Brie rested her head on Sora’s head as she watched Xander pick up the car and throw it into a tree. Three werewolves popped out and turned into werewolf form.

"Shouldn’t you two help him?!" Diana exclaimed.

"Just watch. He wants to show off a bit, and he never shows off unless it’s for his brother and sister. The wings are his phoenix, Hope. I’m sure he planned on introducing her to you anyway." Sora said with a grin.

"Stay the fuck away from my family, assholes." Xander shouted.

"LANGUAGE!" Brie shouted.

"Sorry mom!" Xander said as he teleported over, retracted his wings, took off his shirt and replaced it.

’Holy hell he’s ripped. I haven’t even seen a senior with that muscular of a body...’ Diana thought. ’He is cute and he seems super nice. He didn’t even get super upset or lose control. He was completely calm the entire time. Maybe I should just tell him?’

"Nice job Xander. Let’s close this down. There aren’t any more cars and I think we have enough people here anyway. There were like 70 cars that came through, I’m sure your brother and sister are having enough fun as it is. I just hope no one brought anything."

Sora closed the gate and teleported everyone to the main party area, including Diana.

"I don’t feel so good..." Diana said, but Xander caught her before she fell over.

"Sorry, teleporting is really weird the first time, but you’ll get used to it. Let me know when you want to try again." Xander smiled while looking her in the eyes.

"Yeah, for sure. Xander... I kind of lied to you, I’m really sorry."

Xander could see the deep blue color floating around her head. He didn’t want her to feel sad.

"About Liz?" Xander asked.

She shook her head no. "She just didn’t want to come. She said I should enjoy my time with you."

"Kind of what I figured. That was nice of her, you have a good friend. What’s wrong though, I can tell you’re upset."

"So, I never told you my ability..." Diana said nervously.

"Well it’s not like I’ve told you anything about me either. We just met like two weeks ago, it’s ok. I don’t think you lied about anything. You were just waiting for the right time is all. Just like me with Hope. She’s my phoenix companion, do you want to meet her?" Xander said excitedly, but noticed Diana’s head was still swirling with sadness, nervousness and confusion.

"I do, but I want to tell you something first. Promise you won’t be mad?"

"I won’t be mad, there’s nothing you could tell me that would surprise me. Seriously," Xander laughed.

"Ok... well it’s hard to explain. I can tell the intention of a person and use some foresight. I saw us having a good time together today and I already knew about the werewolf attack, your wings and that you were happy that I didn’t care you were a god. It’s not really fair that I knew the outcome of us hanging out before it happened."

Xander laughed, which made Diana smile. "That’s awesome! You should have just told me, it would have made me a hell of a lot less nervous about everything."

"Well that’s why I didn’t want to tell you. It kind of sucks knowing how things are going to turn out most of the time. I don’t know how to block it."

"Maybe I can help you with that?" Xander suggested while opening a portal to Paradise.

"Xander Joseph Lockheart what in the name of Athena are you doing?" Brie demanded.

"Sorry mom, it’ll just be a minute. Literally. Won’t even be an hour in Paradise and if it is I’ll fix it."

Sora smiled. "Ok, go ahead."

"Sora..." Brie scolded.

"If he’s bringing her to see Athena, she obviously needs help with something she can’t control. Trust our son for me?"

"Hey Nana Fena!" Xander said as he gently held Diana’s hand and walked through the portal, quickly closing it. "We have to be quick, but do you think you could help my friend?"

’Aw, he calls her Nana Fena. That’s so cute.’ Diana thought before she realized where she actually was. ’Oh my gosh... it’s beautiful.’

"Certainly. It seems the beautiful young lady is having a bit of trouble with that foresight?" Athena asked politely.

Diana bowed. She was starstruck. "Oh my goodness! It’s really our Majesty!"

"It’s nice to meet you too, but we must be quick dear. What’s going on, how can I help?"

"Can you please block the foresight I’ll have with Xander? I want to get to know him naturally and I don’t want everything spoiled for me."

"Are you certain?" Athena asked with a kind smile.

Xander gently squeezed her hand and whispered, "It really is up to you. If you do want to get to know me, I’d like that."

After getting some reassurance, she said, "Yes mam. Please."

Athena waved her hand and Diana smiled. Xander quickly opened a portal and they popped back out while the party was still going on.

"Thank you so much! I can’t see anything about us anymore." Diana said while giving him a hug.

"See Brie? He kept his promise and she’s hugging him." Sora said with a playful nudge.

Brie turned and kissed her husband. "Let’s go find out what happened."

"Nah, leave them be, they look like they’ve having fun and he has Hope out."
