Kalli examined the rack full of bolts of cloth.

"That’s very well done, all things considered. I thought that it was going to come out much more rough and amateur, honestly."

The staff looked vaguely offended. They might only be a few days on the job, but the equipment here was incredibly advanced. If they couldn’t make top quality canvas with this, nobody could do it without.

Most of the workload was even automated, if you could put some mana into the machines.

The only limiting factor was that the shop was only so large, and they had to properly process all the plant fibre before it could be used. The factory didn’t include much for that, so it was mostly done by hand, and took a lot of their time.

"This is perfect. If we can come back here every few months and purchase more, that would be amazing. Of course, I don’t know how long the trials are going to last, but I have some confidence that we will make it through them."

Captain Kovalev really was confident that he would be able to make it through the trials, given how well they did on the first one, and how they were doing on this one.

It might not be perfect, but they were getting plenty of experience for their heroes while they were here, and that should be enough to keep them safe if there was another elimination round.

The trials eliminating any of the heroes that hadn’t reached level two had been brutal on many of the nations, he was informed.

Alpha and Bravo fleets had gone in different directions, and found many different tactics to survive the trials. Though, after the end of the first trial, there were some that simply didn’t survive.

Entire nations were abandoned to the beasts, with no heroes or civilians left at all.

They had initially thought that was true of Irashia as well, as it was just a small peninsula. But they had found a few bunkers intact with survivors, and now some survivors in Marimgar.

The Captain quickly realized that his backpack was not large enough to store the cloth, but the workers were happy to bring it out to the helicopter for him.

He was the only passenger, so there was plenty of cargo capacity for supplies.

But Kalli did suspect that they were going to make requests for more than just this little bit of cloth by the time that they were ready to leave. It was likely just waiting for the heroes to have enough points that they could start making requests.

They had to get at least one or two skills first so that they could expand their capabilities, then they would want more weapons and armour, or domestic goods.

Now that they knew there were options, the heroes weren’t going to stand for eating sludge every day, and the pilots definitely weren’t going to keep quiet forever about the meals that they could get in the Academy.

Gerry was a good chef to start with, but with the extra practice and creative freedom, his skills had been improving dramatically.

However, the System wasn’t going to be that kind to them.

Everyone stared at the message.

"Last time we got a week’s notice and a week between trials. This time, we get half a day’s warning, and 1 day to prepare. It feels like the System was cutting us slack the first time because we did so badly," Yara whispered to Sanchez.

"You could say that we did better this time, but I’m not sure that it’s going to give us extra credit for keeping the people we have, when we’ve got so few people.

If the goal is to be heroes and save humanity, it’s likely going to base all our performance data against the original population.

And by that metric, Kalka is doing far better."

"Well, we’ll find out at midnight. Do you have enough points to get another skill? That has to count for something." Sanchez suggested.

Yara shook her head. "The next tier of skills is only available after level ten, and I’m still only level seven. So, I’ve got points, but I can’t use them on skills yet, and I’ve got as much gear as I really need."

"Do you have daily quests to do?"

Yara shook her head. "No, I went out first thing to do mine. So, that is all that we’re going to get before the end of the trial. What I want to know is what we should buy with them that will boost our evaluation at the end of this trial.

If we knew that, we could make a much larger difference."

Sanchez smiled. "True, it’s a shame that we don’t have someone with the gift of foresight. If we had that, we could definitely make better preparations.

But there’s no use complaining about what could have been.

Have you talked to the others and asked if anyone has a plan? I know that most of the groups have been preparing for the end of the trial, but nobody has put all the plans together yet, unless they’ve let it slip to the Coordinator."

That made Yara laugh. "Ironic, isn’t it? We’re all making plans, but nobody knows what’s going on because we were trying to prove that we weren’t fully reliant on the coordinator, and now nobody’s coordinated it."

The former special forces team leader just laughed. Yara had a point. They all wanted to prove themselves, but they had only proven that they did actually need a Coordinator to keep things running smoothly.

"Alright, let’s go get the other team leaders and bring them to Kalli. She can sort it all out, and then we can plan our purchases together so that there is no overlap and no wasted points.

We might have gotten a pretty solid batch of System Points, but that doesn’t mean there are any to waste.

Especially if we’re going to improve the town before the next trial."
