Reincarnated As The Heroes Guide

Captain Kovalev’s communicator was going insane with notifications from Fleet Command.

They had received the same notice that Marimgar had, and now they had to make a snap decision about what they were going to do for supplies and gear. They definitely wanted to get as much as they could for the fleet in the next twelve hours, so every hero they had was currently on the mainland, completing quests and trying to level up.

That was a common thought among Kalli’s heroes as well.

They had completed their kill quests, but if they killed a lot more of the Magma Corrupted monsters, they might be able to level up, and that meant bonus stats.

Every little bit stronger mattered.

Sixty heroes crowded into the Hall, plus the Captain’s team and pilots, was enough to fill all the seats, plus most of the standing room along the walls. And that meant it was time to get down to business.

"Alright, I will let the Captain and his team wait and listen for a moment, in case we give them ideas. What does everyone have in mind? I know that you’ve been plotting ways to improve the town."

A round of soft laughter spread through the room, and then Yara and Lillian came forward with Sanchez and Temple.

"We have collected notes from everyone, and there is a lot of overlap.

Most of what everyone wanted was more power output, more worked fields with greenhouses, in case it hailed again, and an armoury full of spare weapons for the non heroes." Temple began.

"On the logic that the civilian force can do base defence? That makes sense. Having more armed defenders and skilled workers seems like the sort of thing that would be good for us.

Is there anything else?"

"Other than that, it’s mostly about more buildings so that we look like a proper town and people can have some privacy. There are families in the apartment buildings, and while the walls are fairly thick, the buildings are overcrowded.

If we can spread them to a few more buildings and alleviate the overcrowding, it will help.

The heroes still have plenty of space in the dorms. But I suspect that there are more than a few who would like to rearrange the rooms. Not so much that they want more space, but because the rooms were assigned by the Academy based on class schedules.

Now that they’re in teams, it would make more sense to rearrange the dorm assignments."

Kalli nodded. "I don’t see an issue with that. They can do it anytime."

Temple shook his head. "None of us can reassign the biometric locks on the doors. So, if anyone wants to actually change rooms, they have to either leave it permanently unlocked, or ask you to find a way."

Kalli sighed. "Alright, I will add a change of dorm sheet to the app, and work it out tomorrow, so people can move on their day off.

Last time we were between trials, it didn’t let us do quests.

So, that gives everyone a day to do as they please, and moving between dorms would be a good use of their time. They could also redecorate if they’ve got some points. I feel like personalizing your space will help with the System’s evaluation."

Yara laughed, and Kalli rolled her eyes at her healing friend.

"My room is not that bad."

"It’s exactly as the Academy issued it to you. I bet that even the spare uniform is still in its spot, and you make the bed the same way every morning, and place the laptop back in the same spot on the desk."

"It’s called organization."

[ If the dorms weren’t locked, I would swear that she had been in there to snoop. But maybe I really should upgrade my own room a little bit? Add a few luxury features that it doesn’t have?

Are there even any luxury features that it doesn’t have? I’ve never been a poster person, and I’m not spending points on makeup. So, there really isn’t any need for my room to change.

Even if the only personal touch is the code on the whiteboard. ]

Captain Kovalev examined the area behind the counter, and found that the snack area was meticulously organized, everything in its labelled space, and all the stacks of cups except the first one were the same height.

The Coordinator was a much more orderly person than she was willing to admit.

"Alright, most of this is easy, I will get on the dorm reassignment sheet program. Adding buildings will take more time than we have, but once some heroes come back, we can plow field sections to plant more tubers.

Collect the seed materials from the main garden, it’s nearly ready for harvest anyhow.

However, we shouldn’t harvest them before the timer is up. Our storage is nearly full, and it’s more likely that we will get credit for the amount of live food that we have available and cultivated.

I may also try to hatch some of the chicken eggs that I’ve been collecting.

Those devil chickens grow fast, and I can likely get them to hatch before midnight."

She hadn’t collected today’s eggs anyhow. She just needed to look up how to get chickens to hatch, or leave them be, and let their chicken population grow.

Temple patted her on the shoulder. "It’s good that we have you here. Those things attack everyone else on sight. You’re the only one that can walk into that enclosure to feed them and check on the eggs."

"They’re just chickens. What is everyone else afraid of?"

"They’re chickens that can bite through bones, and leave claw marks in steel. Those things are a menace. If you hadn’t gotten magical chicken wire, we would have had to put them down for safety."

Kalli rolled her eyes. The big man was a solid ally, but he was a bit of a wimp when it came to dealing with wild animals, it seemed.

The other heroes, on the other hand, agreed with Temple. The chickens were a menace.
