On the other side of the mansion, in a luxurious room, Christina sat on the bed with her blue hair falling behind her.

She wore a loose nightgown that hid all her curves perfectly. Her long smooth legs remained exposed.

She had a book in her hand which she was carefully reading.

Opposite her was a lady with long silver hair that ended in soft blue highlights. Two horns protruded out of her head like a crown.

She wore a light grey sleeveless nightgown that covered her body perfectly.

The soft sound of someone taking a shower echoed in the background.

Epione looked at Christina who was reading the book. "...I still don’t know why you are sleeping with us." She grumbled.

Christina glanced at her and just smiled a little without replying.

She put the book down and let out a sigh. "Things we do for love."

Epione tilted her head as if she didn’t understand her words.

Christina didn’t explain as she glanced at the book in her hand.

"I want to become a doctor." She whispered softly. "I don’t know if it is already too late."

[]

Christina let out a chuckle when she heard Inna’s voice in her head.

"Why do you even want to become a doctor?" Epione asked in a soft voice, sitting comfortably on the bed.

Christina smiled and leaned back on the bed frame, her voice soft.

"You know Himmel wasn’t always like this." She made a gesture with her hand. "He was this small when we were young."

Epione blinked innocently. "Really?"

"Yes." She nodded her head. "Himmel always had a problem with mana and because of this his body was always on the smaller side."

Christina remembered their time back on the human continent, how they used to spend almost all their time together.

Her smile slowly turned nostalgic. "Even though he was small, he had a heart of gold."

With a sparkle in her eyes, she continued. "You know, since childhood there was a motherly feeling deep inside me. Something that always wanted to protect him."

Epione smiled softly when she thought of Liraz, she wasn’t too far from Christina in that regard.

"I never liked seeing him weak and unhealthy." She whispered. "That’s why I chose to become a doctor."

Epione’s eyes turned sluggish. "You must really love him."

"More than anything." She replied without a single hesitation. "If my death brings him happiness then I am ready to die a thousand times."

Epione couldn’t say anything for a long moment, she had only seen such love in fantasy.

"I wish I find a love like yours." She said in a soft voice. "It’s hard being alone all the time."

Christina extended her hand and gently pinched Epione’s cheek.

"You don’t need someone else to love you." She said gently. "Just love yourself."

Epione winced then chuckled softly. "...Yeah."

Part of the reason Christina said that was to keep Epione away from Himmel but she wasn’t going to admit it.

The blue-haired elf nodded her head before she glanced at the shower room. "How long are you going to stay inside, Zenny!"

Just as she spoke the door of the shower opened and a lady wearing a short gown and a towel over her head walked outside.

Zenith grumbled. "Why is my room always the place for hangout?"

Christina observed the young woman from head to toe.

"Were you always this hot?" She mumbled softly.

"Don’t look at me like that!" Zenith grumbled, covering what she could. "And I am nowhere near your perfect body."

Christina took the compliment without a shred of humbleness. She liked being the most beautiful.

’Lovers always have similar things between them.’

Zenith fell on the bed before she adjusted herself. "Are we the only ones today?" She asked. "Is Nymeria not coming?"

"....No." Christina replied, shaking her head. "She is busy today."

The annoyance in her voice was clearly noticed by both of them.

Zenith swallowed lightly before she asked. "Is she...."

Christina nodded her head without any words.

An awkward moment followed as all three of them quieted down in an instant.

"....Why do you allow such a thing to happen?" Epione couldn’t help but ask. "I don’t think Himmel will say no if you ask him to stop having mistresses."

Christina, who was in low spirits, shook her head in response.

"I know him more than anyone." She replied confidently. "And even if he accepts my request, I will never ask him such a thing."

Zenith, who was silent, asked softly. "Why?"

"There are desperate ones who came to love him before me." She said with a soft smile. "I am cruel but not cruel enough to take away their love for which they lost everything."

[<...You don’t have to pity me.>]

Inna spoke in her mind with a soft almost inaudible voice.

’I love you as a sister and a mother.’ Christina replied confidently. ’I would never be happy if that happiness came from the sadness of miserable beings like you.’

[]

Christina only smiled and didn’t continue any further.

"He has gone through too much for me." Christina said softly. "The least I can do is tolerate his mischievousness."

Epione frowned when she heard her words.

"...Your relationship with him is toxic." She said aloud. "I don’t think it’s a good thing."

Christina smiled and said gently. "I will love him until I am alive."

Epione shook her head and brought her head forward.

She took Christina’s hand in her own and looked deep into her eyes.

"I will never come between him and you, so don’t worry about me." She said softly. "I won’t fall in love with him."

Christina blinked softly before she let out a small smile. "Thanks."

Then she turned to look at Zenith who was listening to their words.

Christina’s eyes were clearly asking her to do the same.

"Look at the time!" Zenith said, pointing at the wall clock. "It’s late, I should go sleep."

She quickly pulled a blanket over her face and began acting like she was snoring.

Christina leaned back against the bed frame and let out a quiet sigh.

The room finally became calm.

Only the sound of the night breeze from the open window and Zenith’s fake snoring remained.

Christina picked up her book again but did not open it.

Instead, her eyes drifted toward the moonlight falling through the window.

"...Do you know what scares me the most?" she asked suddenly.

Epione looked at her. "What?"

Christina’s voice was softer than before.

"That one day... he will stop needing me."

"You really think that?" Epione asked gently.

Christina smiled, but this time it looked tired.

"Himmel keeps growing stronger. He keeps meeting new people, seeing new worlds, carrying bigger burdens."

She lowered her gaze to her own hands. "Sometimes I wonder if I still have a place beside him."

Epione slowly shook her head.

"You do."

Christina glanced at her.

Epione held Liraz, who had been sleeping quietly in her lap.

"When Liraz is scared," she said softly, "he doesn’t fly to the strongest person. He flies to the person who feels safe."

Christina remained silent.

Epione continued. "Maybe love is like that too."

Christina let out a soft chuckle while she nodded her head. "Perhaps it is."

She turned her head to the book and couldn’t help but think of her life.

Just then her hand began to glow. Christina frowned when she noticed the runes of Avatar were forming and vanishing from her hand.

’...What is happening with my body?’

She couldn’t find any concrete theory as to what the Primordial Goddess was doing with her body.

[<....She is transferring some of her power into you.>]

Christina blinked when she heard Inna’s words. ’Why would she do that?’

[<....I don’t know.>]

Christina turned silent while her gaze shifted back to Zenith, who was trying her best not to become a part of the conversation.

---

Within the mind of Zenith something else was going on.

As she had her eyes closed, she couldn’t help but feel a familiar presence in her mind.

When Zenith blinked, she felt a connection forming with something.

And before long, she was standing in front of a familiar figure.

"Mother...."

Zenith thought softly and the figure’s eyes gently fluttered.

The small spark of soul left behind by Yennefer smiled at her.

"How can I help you, Zenny?"

Zenith didn’t respond, she just moved closer and hugged her.

The warmth of her soul made the young woman feel a sense of home.

"I don’t know what I should do." She complained to her mother. "Should I give up on loving him?"

A soft and soothing voice echoed in her mind. "Do what you feel is right." She said. "Do what makes you happy."

Zenith didn’t say anything else, she began to drift in her dreams while holding her mother, just like every day.
