I let out a deep sigh, sitting on a bench in my garden as I looked at the evening sky coloured in hues of orange.

There wasn’t much for me to do throughout the entire day, so all I did was play around with my spirit children.

Now, all three of them were sleeping back in their rooms.

’...I should go look for Elijah first thing in the morning.’

Even though he might be in trouble, I wasn’t in any sort of hurry to rescue him.

’It might not be his fault but he needs to understand the consequences of his own actions.’

I couldn’t forever be his nanny and look after him.

During my free time, I also talked with Epione and got a deeper understanding of current affairs in the Asura kingdom.

Mortis, after his fight with Ragnar, had lost most of his battle power.

Even though everyone respected him, it wasn’t stopping them from discussing who would lead the next generation.

’Given the current situation, I don’t think any Asura is capable of living up to the expectations.’

Heck, almost every Asura had lost their shine in front of a sun like Mortis.

’Makes me wonder how long Epione will take to overtake him.’

It wasn’t a matter of if she could, it was when she would.

Inna’s soft voice echoed in my head like a melodious tone.

’She is much more than a beautiful singer.’ I replied. ’Once Liraz awakens his past memories, she will grow significantly.’

Liraz, being the last of his phoenix race, would inherit the memories of his ancestors soon.

Just as I was thinking about him, I sensed his presence. I closed my eyes when I felt something heavy sit on my head.

Crip! Crip!!

His voice echoed in my ears and I let out a chuckle. "Good to see you gaining back your confidence."

As if my words had an effect, Liraz quickly hid in my hair.

I let out a sigh, unable to understand the reason behind his unrest.

"Are you feeling comfortable?" I turned my head as I heard a voice.

With a gentle smile on her face, Christina walked towards me holding a cup in her hand.

She sat down beside me, cuddling close to me, her smile only getting brighter.

I leaned slightly into her as she settled beside me.

"...You’re in a good mood," I said, glancing at her.

Christina smiled, resting her head against my shoulder.

"I am," she replied softly, taking a sip of her hot chocolate. "It’s been peaceful today."

"It was." I mumbled. "It’s been so long since we last had such a good time."

"We can always have a good time," she replied, giggling. "Happiness is not ready-made, we create it with our loved ones."

I nodded my head, glancing at her cup. "Is it good?"

"Yes." She said, bringing the cup close to my lips. "Want some?"

I took a sip from her hand and immediately felt the brilliant taste. "...It’s good."

She smiled and placed her head back on my shoulder again.

Just as I got comfortable in her presence, I felt someone else walking towards us.

Nymeria silently stood behind us before she mustered the courage and sat on my left side, which was empty.

Christina glanced up, her smile dimmed, but she didn’t say anything.

Seeing that, Nymeria got comfortable as well, placing her head on my shoulder and leaning over me.

I remained sandwiched between them, trying my best to keep myself distracted.

"Do you remember how we used to play alone in kindergarten?" Christina said, glancing at me. "How you used to console me whenever I got hurt."

I smiled, and just as I was about to interrupt, Nymeria spoke.

"Do you remember when I used to give you piggyback rides?" She said nostalgically. "You used to stay with me all the time."

’....’

Both of them leaned slightly closer, their voices soft like they were really reminiscing the past.

Christina tightened her grip around my arm just a little.

"I used to cry so easily," she continued, smiling faintly. "And then you would run to me first."

I felt Nymeria’s hand gripping the sleeve of my shirt.

"You only went to her because I wasn’t around," she replied calmly. "If I was there, you would have never left my side."

"That’s not true." Christina said, her tone still gentle but firmer now.

"It is," Nymeria replied without hesitation.

I was just about to get up when I felt fluctuations in their bodies.

’...Is this divinity?’

I frowned as I looked at both of them, staring at each other intently.

With a sigh, I wrapped my arms around both of them and squeezed them. "Can you guys not disturb such a peaceful time?"

They both remained silent but looked away, seemingly giving up on their staring competition.

I let out a slow breath and leaned back slightly, still keeping an arm around both of them.

’What the hell is happening with their divinity?’

I still had no idea why they would have such a spike in divinity all of a sudden.

’This isn’t good.’

Nymeria slowly relaxed and leaned closer to my ear and whispered. "I will be waiting for my reward tonight."

She kissed my cheek before standing up and walking away.

Christina, who had witnessed what happened, pressed her lips before letting out a sigh.

She stood up as well and walked away. "I will be sleeping with Zenith and Epione today."

"....."

I looked at her retreating back without saying a word.

Even though she didn’t say it out loud, I understood the hidden meaning behind it.

[]

’....Shut up.’

I let out a sigh and closed my eyes to calm my beating heart.

After several minutes, I got a hold of myself and my rational thinking returned.

’What should I do about their divinity?’

It had been bugging me since I noticed the increase.

Rubbing the back of my head, I leaned on the bench and closed my eyes.

The darkness in my vision blurred and with my will, I reached a completely different place.

My body floated in the darkness as I ’looked’ down at the River of Fate.

My eyes looked around the four worlds that were connected with the cause and consequences of fate.

’Where should I start?’

I thought to myself as I ’moved’ closer to the world which was Lumina.

Layers upon layers of fate binding the world came into my view as I looked through them.

’I really hope there is nothing serious...’

Taking a few deep breaths, I willed for the separation of the fates of Nymeria and Christina from the rest.

A huge load of information bombarded my mind, but I gritted through it before it slowly subdued.

But when I opened my eyes, I was stunned speechless.

The fates of both Nymeria and Christina, which should have been separate... were now one.

’....What?’

I couldn’t comprehend why such a thing would happen.

’Aren’t they two different beings?’

I bit my lips to calm my racing heart before I ’moved’ closer to the string of fate.

Unlike the rest of the strings, which were silver... this one was golden in colour.

A thought suddenly struck my mind. ’...Divinity.’

Using her divinity as the source, Anastasia was combining the fate of those two.

’....Why would she do such a thing?’

I couldn’t think of any logical explanation.

Thinking about it for a long while, I extended my right hand.

As soon as I touched the string of fate, my vision turned dark as a scene appeared right in front of my eyes.

The blur slowly began to fade as I ’saw’ a past, present, and future at the same time.

It was the blurred past of Nymeria and Christina overlapping, it was their present, and it was their future.

I focused on the future and the blurriness grew even heavier.

I ’saw’ a scene where both Christina and Nymeria were fighting something.

Their faces were obstructed while their voices were conjoined.

I tried to focus more, to understand what was happening, but I was unable to.

The scene slowly began to ’fade’ and ’replace’ with something else.

I was recoiled back into the past, present, and future.

But now, I didn’t see anything about Nymeria or Christina.

For a split second, the string of fate belonged to someone else.

I glimpse the ’fate’ of Anastasia.
