Chapter 556 - 557: If You Seduce Me Again, Be Careful or I’ll Do You
Leona Grant looked at her indifferent expression, then pulled her in for a kiss. "Annabelle Linton, I really, really like you."
"Mm."
"I want to be with you every day."
"Mm."
Leona Grant frowned at her indifferent response. He turned her face toward him and said, displeased, "I’m saying all this, and you can’t even humor me a little?"
Hearing this, Annabelle Linton lowered her head again and said perfunctorily, "Mm, me too."
Leona Grant scoffed in disgust. "Annabelle Linton, could you be any more fake?"
Annabelle Linton: "..."
...
The car soon arrived at the entrance of the company building.
Leona Grant took Annabelle Linton by the hand as he led her out of the car.
Truth be told, this was the first time Leona Grant had ever brought Annabelle Linton to his company.
Aside from Chase, everyone at the company knew she was Mrs. Grant, but they also knew that he didn’t dote on her.
So when Leona Grant walked in holding her hand, the sight was enough to practically blind the crowd of onlookers.
"Did you see that? Did you see that! Who’s that woman with the CEO? She’s gorgeous! How come I’ve never seen her before? She and the CEO must have some kind of special relationship, right?" the new receptionist, Receptionist A, said excitedly to the person beside her.
"She... is the CEO’s wife..."
Receptionist B watched the pair walk away, also speaking in disbelief. "But since when were the CEO and his wife on such good terms? I thought I remembered their relationship being terrible. Isn’t that right, Ms. Lewis?"
She nudged the person beside her as she spoke.
The receptionist, Ms. Lewis, also looked completely incredulous. "The CEO and his wife weren’t even married when I started at this company. I have no idea when they got on such good terms..."
’I must be seeing things!’
And just like that, under the watchful eyes of everyone present, Leona Grant led Annabelle Linton through the lobby, onto his private elevator, and finally into his office.
Many people greeted him along the way, but he merely gave a cold nod in return, continuing to lead Annabelle Linton forward by the hand.
He was like a completely different person from the Leona Grant of just moments before.
Leona Grant’s office was as luxurious as one would expect; it had practically everything.
To Annabelle Linton’s surprise, there was even a pool table!
Seeing Annabelle Linton staring at the pool table, Leona Grant explained good-naturedly, "Xylas Shepherd and the guys used to come over a lot, so we’d play a game or two occasionally."
Annabelle Linton gave a slight nod. "You should get to work. Don’t worry about me."
"Okay."
Leona Grant was indeed very busy today. The company had a major project that required his personal supervision, so he didn’t pester her as he usually did.
He quickly became engrossed in his work.
They say a man is most attractive when he’s focused on his work, and that saying was certainly true in this case.
He had already taken off his suit jacket. The top two buttons of his snow-white shirt were casually undone, and his sleeves were rolled halfway up, revealing an expensive watch. With an air of refined elegance, he was signing documents with a fountain pen.
Sunlight streamed in from the window, casting a golden glow over him. It made his chiseled features appear even more defined, and his eyes looked deep and indifferent—a complete departure from his roguish behavior over the last two days.
Annabelle Linton raised an eyebrow. ’This version of Leona Grant isn’t half bad.’
After signing one document, Leona Grant picked up another. Without looking up, he asked lightly, "Annabelle Linton, do you know what an office is for?"
Annabelle Linton didn’t know why he was asking, but she answered truthfully, "To handle business."
"Wrong. It’s for handling business... and for handling you."
"..."
Leona Grant looked up, a smirk playing on his lips as he gazed at her. "If you keep tempting me like this, be careful I don’t follow through."
