Chapter 558: My Mind Is Full of You, What Should I Do?
A faint warmth spread through Annabelle’s heart. "Thank you."
Leona felt a little helpless.
’Why would the people closest to each other need to be so polite?’
’So deep down, she still doesn’t see me as family. She’s still keeping her distance, isn’t she?’
He gave her a reproachful look.
Annabelle felt his gaze and was slightly taken aback. "What’s wrong?"
Leona pursed his lips, his brow furrowed as he said seriously, "Annabelle, I’m your husband. Even if the sky were to fall, it’s my job to hold it up for you. So please, stop saying ’thank you’ to me, okay?"
Her heart, usually as calm as still water, skipped a beat.
Hearing his words, Annabelle felt something strike her heart, sending ripples spreading through her one after another.
Her lips curved into a smile. She wrapped her arms around him and gave him a kiss. "Okay, Mr. Grant."
Leona smiled too and took her out for a meal.
He had already picked a place to eat that suited Annabelle’s tastes. After the meal, they returned to the office.
He wouldn’t even let her read, so now Annabelle didn’t know what to do with herself.
She had originally planned to visit her grandfather today, and then go back to her combat training or work at the hospital tomorrow.
In fact, even though she hadn’t been to the dojo for her combat training recently, she still made time to practice every day.
Annabelle stood before the massive floor-to-ceiling window, gazing down at the scenery below, lost in thought.
Sunlight bathed her slender figure, creating a soft, quiet, and beautiful sight. Yet, it was also inexplicably unsettling.
As Annabelle was gazing out, she was suddenly embraced from behind.
A powerful embrace, a crisp, unique scent... She didn’t even have to guess who it was.
She froze for a moment, then broke into a smile. "You’re finished with your work."
"No..."
His nose filled with her elegant scent, and his mind began to wander uncontrollably.
He spun her around, pressing her against the glass behind them. "Annabelle," he said with an innocent air, "you must be the woman heaven sent to torture me. As long as you’re here, I can’t focus on my work. My mind is completely filled with you. What am I supposed to do?"
"..."
Annabelle didn’t know what to do either.
She was so afraid of distracting him that she hadn’t even dared to read, instead just standing here quietly and spacing out.
She asked, amused, "Then what should I do?"
Leona’s lips curved, a wicked grin forming as he said in a husky voice, "This..."
His handsome face filled Annabelle’s vision, and in the next second, his lips captured hers.
But Leona grabbed her small hands, giving her no chance to resist as he carried her toward the private break room.
He gently placed her on the bed and moved over her in an aggressive posture.
Annabelle pushed against him, a rare look of nervousness on her face. "Leona, you should be working."
"Alright," he said, and then began kissing her neck.
Annabelle squirmed uncomfortably, struggling to look at him. "What do you think you’re doing?"
He looked at her innocently. "Working."
Annabelle: "..."
’He’s really making full use of this office, isn’t he?’
’She really couldn’t understand why he was always so keen on... this sort of thing.’
Annabelle felt mentally exhausted.
