Chapter 544: I Love You, You Love Me 4
Taking out the last can of black tea and closing the refrigerator door, Leona Grant spread his hands. "There’s nothing to eat for lunch."
He would never tell Annabelle Linton that he had instructed the housekeeper to empty the refrigerator before leaving.
As for his reason... Heh.
"Then what should we do?" Annabelle Linton’s eyes were glued to the game on the monitor. She answered casually while shooting zombies, "Figure something out. We can eat out or you can cook. I don’t mind either way."
Leona Grant’s eye twitched as he watched her land one headshot after another on the zombies on screen. Frowning, he asked, "Why do you like playing these kinds of games?"
He knew Annabelle Linton enjoyed gaming, but watching her constantly play such bloody, gruesome games felt so jarring.
’It just doesn’t fit her personality. I’d have thought someone like her would be content with a simple match-3 puzzle game.’
Annabelle Linton continued to play, sitting cross-legged on the sofa. She won the round.
She started a new round, swapping guns and checking her inventory. The corner of her lip curled. "It’s fun."
’In her past life, she’d had no one to keep her company. She usually passed the time by playing games just like this one.’
Seeing how she was ignoring him for her game, Leona Grant sat down beside her and tugged on her sleeve. "It’s been ten minutes, and you haven’t said a single word to me because of this game..."
...But when a person is completely absorbed in a game, they’re deaf to the world.
As Leona Grant watched Annabelle Linton ignore him, a charming smile played on his lips and he slowly leaned closer.
He toyed with her hair.
Annabelle Linton didn’t react.
He gently pinched her cheek.
Annabelle Linton didn’t react.
He kissed her cheek.
Still no reaction from Annabelle Linton!
Leona Grant rested his head on her shoulder, whining playfully, "Pay some attention to me... Please?"
’He’d dropped a mountain of work at the office and ignored Chase’s despairing look just to be with her, not to watch her play video games!’
"Uh-huh, yeah," Annabelle Linton mumbled dismissively, her expression blank as she stared intently at the screen, completely absorbed in her game.
Leona Grant pursed his lips and decided to get a little mischievous...
At first, Annabelle Linton didn’t notice anything.
But when she felt a tickle on her neck, she flinched away from him, her eyes still glued to the monitor. "Stop messing around."
’So she still won’t even spare me a glance, huh?’
Leona Grant smirked deviously, his kisses trailing from her eyes to her cheeks, down her neck, and finally to her lips.
Annabelle Linton had just reached the most intense part of her game, trying to dodge him while she played.
"Don’t... it’s almost over... Mmph!"
Leona Grant pressed her against the back of the sofa, kissing her deeply and changing angles as he went.
Annabelle Linton didn’t know what to say, laughing as she tried to dodge him and push him away with her arms.
"Don’t... Wait a second... Stop..."
As Leona Grant continued kissing her, he grew more passionate. He held her in place, deepening the kiss.
Annabelle Linton lost the game. The controller slipped from her hand and fell to the floor as he pinned her to the sofa, kissing her senseless.
He didn’t let go for a long while.
Panting, Annabelle Linton shot him a resentful look. "I told you to just wait a second."
"How could I possibly wait when I love you this much?" Leona Grant said, pulling her into a hug and tackling her down onto the sofa. "First you ignore me because of Stuart, and now it’s for a video game. Annabelle Linton, you don’t care about me at all..."
Annabelle Linton burst out laughing. "We’re attached at the hip all day. How am I possibly ignoring you?"
He said plaintively, "You were just playing your game and didn’t spare me a thought for ten whole minutes..."
Ten minutes...
’What is there to talk about when we’re together from morning to night?’
"You’re unbelievable..." Annabelle Linton chided, laughing.
