Chapter 1150: Ch 1150: Guild Registration and Being Targeted
The wooden sword hit the belly of the man and sent him flying. Seeing a little girl doing this to a large man was both scary and comical at the same time.
Seeing this, most of the people including the receptionist was a bit stunned. No one present had thought the young boys and girls here to be this strong. So it definitely took them by surprise.
But very soon, the receptionist came back to her senses. She then acted with perfect professionalism and completely ignored the man from before, as if he did not even exist.
Just like that, she started to tell all the boys and girls about how this profession of an adventurer worked and what they needed to do in order to earn money.
Firstly she explained about the adventurer rank. This was different from the power rank that someone had.
For example, someone with the strength of an rank 5 should be a B rank adventurer but that was not always true.
Other than having enough strength, the adventurers of high rank needed to have a personality to match their status. Obviously the guild could not allow a criminal or a madman to enjoy all the benifits from this role.
As for what the adventurers do, it was simple. They chose missions of various difficulties and completed them to earn money. Low ranking adventurers did not even need a background check but high ranking ones were given one during their promotion examination.
As for how much an adventurer earned, the amount depended on what kind of missions they took.
For adventurers who were strong, defeating powerful monster would give them a hugh sum of money. But if the adventurers were weak then they would not be able to defeat powerful monsters and would earn a lot less.
But having strength and combat power was not the only path ahead for an adventurer. Someone with powerful senses or high quality knowledge could take on harvest missions or specific material finding missions. These two types of missions also paid well depending on the value of the items involve.
This was a very basic rundown about adventuring and as Elena had already told the boys and girls this, they were aware of even more. But still, they seriously listened to everything that the receptionist lady said. And having diligent listeners like them made even the receptionist lady super happy.
Most adventurers were impatient and rude bunch. Compared to the, these children were basically angels. So the receptionist lady’s fondness for this group grew even more.
...
After the explanation was done, it was finally time for the main registration process to be completed. This again created a large commotion as Shin, Tatsumi and Suzu were all rank 2 powerhouses, which was extremely rare for their age.
Still, as the receptionist was using a gadget to measure the rank and there was no inconsistency in the data, she was very sure that these young boys and girls were actually this powerful.
With this in mind, the receptionist gave them the rank of E from the very beginning. There was a small test to make sure the E rank adventurers did not have a troublesome personality but the receptionist themselves were eligible to judge that.
And with how impressed this receptionist lady was, she immediately gave Shin’s group a pass. So, in this way, the registration process ended very smoothly.
After this, the receptionist lady was ready to help them in finding a proper job too. And as she was about to do that, she realised that she had forgotten to introduce herself. So immediately she did that and her name turned out to be Makima.
...
With Makima’s help, Shin and his team soon took two guild missions. One was to hunt down monster wolves in the nearby forest and the other task was to collect some dewdrop grass, a medicinal plant.
They were simple and decently paying missions. So it was perfect for their first guild job. But before leaving the guild for the mission, Shin had one last thing that he needed to do.
And that task was to sell some of the monster materials. Keeping these things with them was useless, so turning them into money as soon as possible was ideal.
So Shin took some material out of the spatial storage item. This item was not his own and instead belonged to Elena. Shin was currently just borrowing it from her.
Seeing this item in action, even the super professional receptionist could not help but widened her eyes in suprise.
Only rank 4 or higher ranking powerhouses were capable of manipulating space and even then, only a rank 5 powerhouses was capable of using the space source to make Spatial storage items. So these things were extremely rare.
So Makima immediately asked Shin about the origin of this item. This was a very serious question as there was maybe only one or two people in this while city who could have something so valuable.
Shin had seen Elena very casually using this item in her daily life to even store water and such, so he had completely forgotten about how valuable this item actually was.
Then without beating around the bush or trying to hide it again, Shin simply told Makima that this item was not his and instead belonged to their guardian who was an A rank adventurer.
Hearing this, receptionist Makima sighed in relief. For an A rank adventurer, having a spatial storage item was actually very normal. They themselves could even make one with some practice.
Next, Makima did not try to pry too much about these young boys and girls. She was sure that they all were good people and that was enough for her. So after accepting the missions, they left the guild.
...
As they left, a few people also left at the same time. Even though these young boys and girls were rank 2, this city did not lack powerhouses of this level. And even for a rank 3 or rank 4 individual, a spatial storage item was a very big deal.
So obviously people would want it for themselves. And children like Shin and his team were very easy targets even if they were a little strong.
With Elena with them, there were no problem which could be serious but the children did not meet up with Elena after leaving the guild and instead went toward the gate of this city in order to finish the guild mission on all their own.
So would the children be able protect themselves and the spatial storage item from the greedy attackers ?
