"Do you trust me?" Second Brother asked Mingyi, and Mingyi nodded without hesitation.

"Then go back and pack your things."

On the way back, Mingyi remained silent for a long time before finally speaking.

"Is there danger?"

"With me here, you and our son will be safe."

"Actually, I can talk to Wang Xiaohong; she won’t hurt me." Mingyi thought the reason for Qian’s eagerness to send her away was because of Wang Xiaohong.

"Why would you think of her — okay, you can think that if you want." Second Brother recalled Qian’s recent words about the contrast effect, which suddenly made a lot of sense.

Comparing two equally bad things, Wang Xiaohong, whom Second Brother never wanted to mention, ended up being the unfortunate irritating one.

"Though I hate her clinging to you and our son, I can understand her unwillingness. After all, she missed the best and it’s only natural for her to regret it."

"The best?" Second Brother raised an eyebrow.

Mingyi’s face warmed slightly, "That’s you! Missing out on such a great man; she must be mad about it. But there’s nothing she can do; I won’t give you to her. However, I can offer her some psychological counseling!"

Protecting the man-god from being taken away by anyone!

Second Brother’s eyes curved in amusement, "Only you think I’m such a catch."

Being with Mingyi always immensely satisfied his male pride; she worshiped him without reservation. Apart from her, perhaps no woman would care about Yu Mingyi as a person. Those women were only interested in his status and family background.

"You are especially great! See, she already regrets it. But regret won’t help, my husband is mine, and our son too!"

Such a petty tone deeply pleased Second Brother, "Okay, all yours."

As they approached the hospital, Mingyi remembered something else.

"Second Brother, why do you think Qian suddenly got a dog?"

"Who knows what those two are up to." As long as Yu Minglang wasn’t cheating, Second Brother couldn’t be bothered with those demon couple. Only those two team up to mess with others; they never seemed like the fighting type, and from the start, Second Brother never thought his brother would cheat. It was Mingyi being too anxious.

"Ah! Could it be..." Mingyi swallowed nervously, suddenly picturing something terrifying. "Could it be that Qian found out Minglang made her mad, and then got a big dog to bite him into becoming the last eunuch in the dynasty while he’s sleeping?"

Second Brother shuddered, the steering wheel veering slightly and nearly hitting the curb; he fearfully steadied the car, looking at his wife in disbelief who was seriously joking.

"Could you stop joking while I’m driving?"

He could even fly fighters, mastering the most complex planes, yet his wife almost had him crashing the car. It would be a disgrace if word got out; her joke was too funny!

"I’m not kidding, I’m serious! You don’t know, normally others wouldn’t do such a thing but Qian can!"

Mingyi addressed the matter with utmost seriousness. Previously a troublemaker upset Qian, Qian retaliated with the dog-eating-pill strategy.

The more earnest Mingyi was, the harder it was for Second Brother to hold back, finally pulling over and burying his head in the steering wheel, shaking with laughter.

"Second Brother, don’t cry. How about we go back and persuade Qian not to let the dog bite Minglang? Although mom has plenty of sons and doesn’t worry about continuation issues, if Minglang can’t what-not after being bitten, she’d be concerned too. Second Brother, don’t fret!"

Second Brother reluctantly looked up, wiping away tears of laughter, his stomach aching.

"I think you should have a daughter."

"Why? Do you want to adopt our child to Minglang?"

Yu Minglang has now been tagged by Mingyi as the last eunuch candidate of our dynasty.

"Pfft!" Second Brother couldn’t hold it anymore; with a wife like this, maintaining his cold facade was practically impossible. She was a treasure indeed!

"You haven’t told me yet, why should I have a daughter?"

"Because I’m a bit worried our son might end up like you."

Poor son!

Second Brother glanced at Mingyi’s serious face, unable to help but laugh again.

"Oh well, whatever you have is fine. If our son is silly, he might just be more popular with little girls."

Second Brother gave up trying; whatever his wife was like, he would love whatever they had.

Similarly giving up was Qian.

"I’m warning you, you better stop barking, or the neighbors will come complain!" Qian sternly pointed at the annoying dog.

Afraid it’d run around causing chaos, she tied it up and started reading a book herself.

Just a few minutes of quiet, the dog howled.

Yet, Qian’s warnings didn’t work; the pretty dog barked even louder, as if challenging by howling at the sky — imitating a wolf?

"Tomorrow I’ll definitely visit the pet store to find something to shut your big mouth, hey, could you stop barking?"

Using both soft and hard approaches proved useless.

Qian had to resort to finding Yu Minglang’s clothes and putting them under the dog’s nose.

Smelling the familiar scent, the pretty dog became noticeably less restless.

"I don’t know if you can understand me, but the owner of this shirt is my husband. He definitely wouldn’t want to see you causing such a fuss with me. So, to avoid making him sad, you better behave and stop barking, got it?!"

Reasoning with a dog, this was exhausting; Qian regretted her moment of weakness bringing this creature home — it was hardly a pet dog, more like a spoiled master!

Yu Minglang didn’t return that night, leaving Qian confronting the dog all night, the next day arriving at school with dark circles.

Seeing Qian rush to the library upon arriving at school, Arka instinctively assumed Qian had encountered another professional challenge, eagerly peeking to see what book she was looking for.

After Xuan’s last two interventions, Qian no longer minded Arka’s obvious curiosity. She proactively showed the book to Arka.

"A Guide to Handling Fierce Dogs?!"

Arka thought they misread, taking Qian’s book and looking again, confirming their eyes weren’t deceiving them, then flipped it open to peruse.

No mistake, it’s a book about dog raising.

"Have you ever kept pets?" Qian asked.

"I’ve kept snakes, but dogs aren’t possible; someone we live with doesn’t like dogs, so we can’t keep them."

"You live with many people?" Qian hadn’t asked about Arka’s situation before; lately, with less aversion toward Qi, she was willing to ask a bit.

"Yeah, our boss bought us a whole apartment building. Besides us brothers from the sect, there are other people living with us; they’re apprentices of the boss’s friends. The boss treats us very well; honestly, I think you’re quite similar to him."

"How so?"
