Chapter 463: Short Cut To Strength
Anyone who didn’t know better would think he was the one who got stronger.
The team members of the other team who had started getting ideas about taking more supplies because they thought they deserved them also tucked their tails between their legs.
Who wanted to provoke someone with such attack power?
Anyway, they realized that Leng Pan and her team had been giving them face by throwing them out of the building and taking all the supplies.
"Alright, let’s collect the supplies and leave or mom will worry if we are late." Leng Pan instructed and everyone jumped into action.
Seeing how everyone from the other team shrunk into themselves, Leng Pan thought that they wouldn’t dare to cross them or speak nonsense. So, she instructed those with spatial superpower to collect supplies into their space.
She also collected supplies into her space bangle.
She realized that has hiding their strength wasn’t the right approach. It was better to let others see their strength do that they don’t dare to provoke them.
After that battle, everyone collected supplies harmoniously.
The members of the other team even became more respectful.
When they came across a new type of product, they would fast ask Leng Pan’s people if they needed more and they could offset it with other things if they wanted to take more than half.
"You don’t have to be so polite. Our commander doesn’t oppress the weak." One could say that ZaiZai truly didn’t know how to talk.
He had straightforwardly called the team weak.
However, neither the leader nor the other members felt insulted. It was as if they agreed with his evaluation that they were weaklings.
"It’s not about oppression. You could say that I am also showing my gratitude. If your teammate hadn’t stepped in and healed Little Zhao, he would have died. So, just take it as us showing gratitude."
The leader hadn’t forgotten how his teammate almost had his shoulder torn off and it was Lu Hao who stepped in and healed him without asking for anything in return.
He wasn’t an unreasonable person not was he someone who didn’t know gratitude.
"Alright then. If it makes you feel better, then we will accept your goodwill." Ouyang Jin who had been listening from the side replied.
The rest of collection went smoothly.
Apart from the supplies that those with spatial superpowers put in their space, boxes of supplies were also moved to the four boats left outside.
Since they wanted to use this to blind people, Leng Pan made sure the boats were filled to the brim, leaving a small space where they would sit on their way back.
After everything was collected, the team members nodded at the other team and left without looking back.
The other team just stood there and watched as they left.
"I didn’t expect there to be such strong people in this apocalypse. Maybe with people like them, the apocalypse will end some day." The leader said with a sigh.
"How do you think they got so strong?" Someone from the team asked curiously.
"Maybe they used those strength-enhancement serums." Someone else said with a conspiratorial tone.
"Stop, all of you." The leader shouted.
"Are you stupid or just blind? Couldn’t you see the way they all fought? Do you think that is something a serum could give? They are obviously very experienced, meaning that they have gained experience through battles. Can’t you see something so obvious? Stop thinking about short cuts all the time. Instead work harder to become stronger." The leader was both angry and helpless.
How could these people be so blind?
"The boss is right. Their fighting and strength is solid. That isn’t something acquired artificially. If we want to become stronger, we can only work harder." Another team member who also seemed to have some prestige in the team added.
He didn’t want his teammates to fall into a rut thinking that there was a short cut to strength.
That kind of mentality wasn’t good, especially in the apocalypse where morals have been buried.
He was worried they would end up doing something that could ruin them for the sake of quick strength.
"This leader is still decent." Lu Tao, who had unintentionally heard the conversation between the leader and his subordinates said with a sigh like an old man.
"What is it?" ZaiZai asked curiously.
Apart from Lu Tao, he was the youngest and the two got along well.
"Oh, those people were saying that my older brother and sister-in-law are so strong because they might have taken a strength-enhancement serum, but their leader shot that kind of thinking down." Lu Tao explained.
Leng Pan thought that those people weren’t completely wrong.
They may not have taken any serums, but with the strange meteorite, they didn’t need them.
That meteorite had helped them increase their strength faster than anyone else.
It was also the reason the elders at home improved their strength without engaging in battles all the time.
However, she could never say this out loud or she would invite unending trouble to their home.
Once the boats were loaded, the group started their journey back home.
Unlike that morning when they left, the water was more peaceful this time.
They didn’t have to fight unending battles, except for a few mutated creatures that were electrocuted to death by Lu Hao even before they got close.
When they appeared near their community, th team finally relaxed their taut nerves.
Even though they were strong and knew that many creatures didn’t pose a threat to them, it was still annoying.
Moreover, after battling that alien, they gained a new understanding of the aliens.
It seemed that there were stronger aliens than there had been in ancient earth.
In that case, they needed to get stronger and build a stronger army.
They couldn’t depend on their small team to fight against zombies and aliens.
Luckily, the recruitment of soldiers was going smoothly and in the near future, they would have the army they wanted.
Both Leng Pan and Lu Zhen had experience leading an army as commanders, so they weren’t worried about not being able to control so many people.
