When Leng Pan and her team left the building they were collecting supplies in, they didn’t forget to bring back the body of that alien who had regeneration abilities.

What if the researchers could find something from it?

It was never Leng Pan’s habit to leave behind any resources. So the body was immediately given to Uncle Li who then took it directly to the research lab that had been trying to decipher alien DNA from the remains of other aliens that were brought back before.

After the researchers heard that this new alien had strong regeneration abilities, they immediately abandoned the other experiments and began working on the latest specimen.

According to their reasoning, what if they discovered something from its body that could help humans in quick recovery?

The vials of serum found in the briefcase were also submitted.

Leng Pan only kept one in her space bangle in case it came in handy in th future.

After the supplies they brought back were distributed, their family still got many things, and even though the warehouse in the space bangle already had so many things, there was no such thing as having too much.

Leng Pan had learned this the hard way in the ancient world during the war between aliens, zombies, and humans.

When all the resources on earth were monopolized by aliens and humans were forced to hide in the high-tech city they built as a last resort, food and water became a luxury they could not afford.

Because of th advancement in technology, they were able to make synthetic food and water to allow humans to survive and keep fighting.

But how could synthetic food compare to real food?

There was no comparison. So, Leng Pan would never pass up a chance to collect more supplies if she had the chance.

Once th family finally sat down for dinner, they were surprised to find that they were full after eating only a small bowl of rice and two pieces of meat.

The whole table was filled with dishes, yet, none of them could eat them because they were too full.

Moreover, Leng Pan and th others who went out that day could feel their spiritual energy recovering at a visible rate as it a tap had been opened and connected to their bodies.

"What is happening? Why can’t I eat anymore?" Lu Tao was the first to break th silence.

The family looked at each other and finally at Uncle Li.

"Don’t look at me like that, I didn’t add anything to the food. I cooked the same way I usually do." Uncle Li defended himself when all eyes were directed at him.

"Is it possible that your ability had evolved?" Lu Zhen suddenly asked.

"Evolved?" Uncle Li asked in surprise.

He hadn’t noticed anything unusual. Or maybe, he didn’t pay attention when cooking.

"It’s possible. Your food had always been special. First, it was too delicious. Then it had a kind of mentality energy that helped in recovering spiritual energy, but at a slow pace. Now, it’s like a raging river when recovering. I guess that your ability has advanced and now the food you cook has a lot of energy, making it so that eating a little would fill the body to the brim with energy, which is why we can’t eat as much as usually do." Leng Pan explained after thinking for a moment.

This was a good thing. Even though eating was a kind of comfort, now that they had to ration food because of the apocalypse, being forced to eat less because one is too full is different from eating less due to lack of supplies.

Moreover, they still had the farm inside the jade bangle.

Even if they form an army, their soldiers would not starve because of the scarcity of resources.

However, this would mean that all the food had to be cooked by Uncle Li. Only then would a small portion have enough energy to satiate someone, especially those with special abilities.

"Alright, Panpan, put the food away so that it doesn’t go cold. I will cook more and store it in your warehouse so that in case if emergencies, we won’t starve because we have no time to cook." Uncle Li volunteered.

Since his ability could evolve, only by constantly using it would it advance. He wanted to see what new ability would be manifested if he advanced again.

So, Uncle Li nearly planted himself in the kitchen cooking everyday.

Auntie Li was almost unable to keep up with the need for vegetables as she kept growing new varieties everyday for her husband to experiment new dishes with.

A week later while having breakfast, Li Yunjia spoke about a vision she saw the previous night.

"I saw that the flood water had dried and corpses were everywhere. They didn’t turn into zombies, but they started rotting and others dried up so that only skin and bones remained. Then, a black mass like a cloud moved from the south at a high speed. Every place they past through, nothing remained. Not the corpses, not trees or other plants, not even buildings. When they got close, I realized that it wasn’t a cloud but a mass of grasshoppers. But these grasshoppers are everything from people, to plants, to stones." Li Yunjia sighed heavily when she remembered what she saw in that dream.

"Mom, do you know the timeline of this disaster?" Leng Pan asked.

By now they knew that their mother’s ability was to predict the future. To be more precise, it predicts the next disaster.

However, before, she didn’t have a timeline. Leng Pan wondered if her ability had improved at all.

To their surprise, this time, Li Yunjia gave a specific date.

"There is two weeks and two days remaining before the grasshoppers arrive. I am not sure if they are already active in other places, but they will get here in two weeks." She said thoughtfully.
