"What’s wrong?"

Lu Yunque looked at Yun Zijin.

"I see Mr. Tang."

The list Lu Yunque had shown Yun Zijin included not only a simple personal introduction but also an ID photo.

Lu Yunque followed Yun Zijin’s gaze and also spotted Tang Zhaosong, who was dressed in a Tang suit.

"Should we go over?"

Since this was a symposium, even people who didn’t know each other could mingle and talk.

But whether they could "hit it off" depended on whether they could handle the interaction with the right amount of tact.

"Let’s go take a look."

Yun Zijin had never been one to give up easily. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have gone from a small orphanage to, through sheer effort, gaining admission into Dijing University—the top-ranked institution in Hua Country.

Of course, Lu Yunque would accompany Yun Zijin at a time like this.

And while Tang Zhaosong might not recognize Yun Zijin, he would certainly have an impression of Lu Yunque.

After all, the Lu Family was renowned in Hua Country. As the CEO of the Lu Group, Lu Yunque’s name would inevitably appear on the list of potential investors these researchers were looking for.

Seeing the two of them make a move, Li Yuexing and the other two quietly followed.

Here, they were essentially one party with Lu Yunque. Since Yun Zijin was Lu Yunque’s girlfriend, she was naturally with them as well.

With her clear objective, and with Lu Yunque and the others in tow, Yun Zijin immediately attracted a lot of attention.

Inevitably, Tang Zhaosong’s gaze shifted toward them.

When he saw Yun Zijin, a flicker of shock crossed Tang Zhaosong’s face.

It lasted only an instant, and not many people noticed—except for Yun Zijin, who had been watching him intently.

"You... are you here to see me?"

Tang Zhaosong looked at the five young people who had stopped in front of him, a little surprised.

This was his first time attending the symposium, and his purpose, of course, was to find an investor.

However, the project he was heading required a huge amount of investment, and it likely wouldn’t show any significant results for at least the next ten years.

So, although he had come, he came prepared for failure.

He hadn’t expected someone to approach him so soon after he’d arrived.

’And... they don’t look like ordinary people,’ he thought.

"Yes! To be precise, *I* am the one looking for you."

This was Yun Zijin’s personal matter, so she hadn’t planned on having Lu Yunque and the other three participate with her.

Her money all came from Randomly Spend, as if it were picked up in a whirlwind, so she certainly wouldn’t feel the sting of spending it. In fact, Randomly Spend seemed to encourage her to squander it lavishly; the more she squandered, the greater its rewards.

Tang Zhaosong turned to Yun Zijin. "What’s your name, little one?"

’Little one? What the heck?’

"Hello, my name is Yun Zijin. I’m twenty-one years old, not a ’little one.’"

’I just look young; I’m not actually a minor.’

"Tang Zhaosong. Sixty years old."

"Mr. Tang, this isn’t the place to talk. If you and this young lady have matters to discuss, you can use the lounge upstairs."

The purpose of this symposium was to find investors for the researchers’ projects. If a discussion went well, the parties could move to the lounges on the second floor of the banquet hall to negotiate.

This had been an unwritten rule of the symposium for many years.

"After you."

Yun Zijin made a "please" gesture, inviting Tang Zhaosong to go first.

Tang Zhaosong glanced at Yun Zijin. "Do you know what kind of research project I’m seeking investment for? Do you know how much funding it requires?"

Tang Zhaosong didn’t want to go to the lounge with Yun Zijin only for her to be scared off by the investment amount, causing the negotiations to fall apart.

"Don’t worry. I can’t speak for other things, but when it comes to money, it’s not an issue for me."

Yun Zijin smiled. Though it sounded like she was bragging, she was telling the absolute truth.

"Fine. Then I’ll see just how much money you have, little girl."

With that, Tang Zhaosong walked ahead, heading toward the second-floor lounge.

The assistant following Tang Zhaosong gave Yun Zijin a deep look, clearly thinking she was overestimating her own abilities.

"We’ll go together."

Although Lu Yunque knew Yun Zijin was wealthy, he wasn’t exactly sure *how* wealthy.

He figured that if the investment amount Tang Zhaosong required was too large, he could at least be there to back her up.

The Lu Group had plenty of funds; it was just a matter of whether he wanted to use them.

Li Yuexing and the other two remained silent the whole time but continued to follow from behind.

Tang Zhaosong didn’t say anything about them coming as a group.

’In any case, someone will have them sign a non-disclosure agreement after they leave here today.’

The group of seven soon arrived at the second-floor lounge. Tang Zhaosong casually found a seat, and his assistant took a file from his briefcase and handed it to Yun Zijin.

"This is the project Mr. Tang currently needs an investor for. Please take a look, Miss Yun."

Although the assistant was not very pleased with Yun Zijin as a potential investor, he was only an assistant and had to follow Tang Zhaosong’s wishes.

There was only one copy of the file, and the assistant couldn’t conjure up more for Lu Yunque and the others.

Besides, other than the investor, he didn’t want anyone else seeing this file.

Yun Zijin took the file, and when she opened it to the first page, she saw two words: Military Armaments.

The word "Military" alone told her the investment for this project would not be small.

Flipping further, Yun Zijin got a general idea of the project’s content.

It was safe to say that Yun Zijin had never imagined a project like this would be brought out for private investment.

’After all, even if this thing is successfully developed, I’ll have no use for it. And if I can’t use it, then this money will only be an expense with no return—a pure loss.’

If Yun Zijin were a businesswoman, she would definitely be contemplating a polite refusal right about now.

But Yun Zijin wasn’t.

She was just a humble landlady who wanted to own a self-built manor.

After reading it, Yun Zijin closed the file and placed it on the table, showing no intention of letting Lu Yunque and the others see it.

"To be honest, this project is beyond my expectations. If I may ask, why are you taking this route?"

In Yun Zijin’s opinion, a project like this should have been fully funded by Guo Jia, with the final research results being nationalized.

"It’s very important. So important that there can’t be a single mishap."

"Under normal circumstances, Guo Jia would certainly be the one to handle it. But to prevent any infiltration, he ultimately chose an unconventional path."

"Do you need me to set up a new laboratory for you?"

If the goal was to prevent anyone from infiltrating, then establishing a new laboratory would be the best option.

This move would be like pulling the rug out from under them.

Yun Zijin suddenly thought of something and looked at Tang Zhaosong. "Perhaps... we have an even more secure method."

Tang Zhaosong looked at Yun Zijin, not understanding what she meant by that.

"What are you trying to say?"

The corners of Yun Zijin’s lips curved up slightly as she parted her lips to speak...
