The sudden turn of events happened far too quickly. From the moment Luo Lanzi attacked to Qi Xiaotian falling injured, only a single breath had passed.

By the time everyone else could react, the fight was already over.

Seeing their captain struck down, the crewmen were furious. In an instant, the dark muzzles of their guns were all aimed at Luo Lanzi.

But Luo Lanzi seemed completely unfazed by the guns aimed at him. His cold gaze swept over Qi Xiaotian, who was clutching his arm and struggling to his feet. His voice was utterly devoid of emotion as he spoke.

"Now we’re even."

After saying this, his expression instantly shifted to one of utmost respect as he moved to stand by Fang Chenyi’s side.

Fang Chenyi was just as stunned by this turn of events. ’Given the strength Luo Lanzi just displayed, how could he have possibly been captured by Qi Xiaotian earlier?’

’And did my Celestial Gods even work? What if this guy wasn’t brainwashed at all? What if he has some other ulterior motive?’

However, just as this doubt surfaced in Fang Chenyi’s mind, he heard a DING, followed by the system’s voice, which he hadn’t heard in a long time.

"Host’s query detected. The system reiterates: System products are guaranteed to be of the highest quality. No one can evade a skill granted by the system."

Hearing this voice, Fang Chenyi immediately felt his worries subside.

’Whatever,’ he thought. ’As long as it works!’

Just a moment later, however, Fang Chenyi started grumbling to himself.

’This unreliable system... So *now* it detects my questions? Where were you when I had questions before?’

At this thought, he quickly posed another question in his mind.

’System, hey System, let me ask you something. What are those "unknown special rewards" for? Can you explain them to me?’

This time, however, no matter how much Fang Chenyi probed, the system’s voice remained silent.

Now certain that Luo Lanzi had been brainwashed, Fang Chenyi waved his hand at the surrounding crewmen, signaling for them to lower their guns. Only then did he hurry to Qi Xiaotian’s side to check on his injuries.

Qi Xiaotian, however, paid no mind to his own injuries. He kept a wary eye on Luo Lanzi, his voice low as he spoke to Fang Chenyi in Huaxian.

"Brother Fang, something’s not right with this guy. If you can, you need to get out of here right now."

Fang Chenyi nodded in agreement.

"He’s definitely not right, but you don’t have to worry. I know some of his dirty little secrets—things Billson dug up before. If the Cobra Organization found out, they’d hunt him down for sure. That’s why he’s wary of me now. He won’t hurt me. Here, let me see your arm!"

As he spoke, Fang Chenyi’s gaze fell upon Qi Xiaotian’s arms.

The sight made him suck in a sharp breath.

Qi Xiaotian’s arm was already a swollen, purplish-blue mess.

Seeing this, Fang Chenyi quickly called out to two nearby crewmen.

"You two, get him to the cruise ship for treatment! Now!"

The two crewmen immediately came over.

But Qi Xiaotian shook his head, his wary gaze still fixed on the motionless Luo Lanzi in the distance.

"Brother Fang, you can’t trust a man like that. Even if you have something on him, he’ll find a way to eliminate the source of his trouble for good."

Unaware of the existence of Celestial Gods, Qi Xiaotian was naturally uneasy about leaving Fang Chenyi here.

Just as Fang Chenyi was about to say more, two furious roars erupted from the side. The next thing he knew, the two men who had been pinned to the ground by his crewmen had violently thrown their captors aside and were charging straight for him.

They were incredibly fast, reaching Fang Chenyi in the blink of an eye.

Qi Xiaotian and the others were shocked. The crewmen didn’t dare to open fire; the two assailants were far too close to Fang Chenyi. A stray shot could easily hit him or Qi Xiaotian.

Without a second thought, Qi Xiaotian endured the searing pain in his arm and threw himself in front of Fang Chenyi, raising his leg to intercept the attackers.

BAM! BAM! THUD! THUD!

Two muffled thuds echoed out, immediately followed by the sound of two heavy bodies slamming against a wall.

Qi Xiaotian was frozen in place, one leg still raised in a kick, while against the opposite wall, the two foreigners lay motionless on the ground.

Judging by their visibly caved-in chests, it was clear they had both been kicked to death.

"Anyone who dares to attack the Boss dies!"

As everyone stood there, completely baffled by the scene, a soft voice spoke from in front of Fang Chenyi. But the voice didn’t belong to Qi Xiaotian.

It was Luo Lanzi.

It turned out that just as Qi Xiaotian had moved to shield Fang Chenyi, Luo Lanzi had suddenly sprung into action from a distance. He moved so fast it was a blur, appearing in front of his two charging henchmen and delivering two swift kicks.

And just like that, the two charging men were sent flying backward from the force of the kicks.

Everyone present, except for Fang Chenyi, was completely dumbfounded. No one could figure out what was happening. ’Weren’t the three of them a team? Why are they suddenly killing each other?’

’And how were all three of them so powerful? Forget all three—if even *one* of them had skills like that, there’s no way we could have subdued them so easily just now!’

COUGH, COUGH, COUGH... PTAH!

Just as everyone was reeling in astonishment, a fit of coughing broke the spell.

They looked toward the sound and saw the crewmen who had been holding down the two assailants. They had been thrown to the ground and were now clutching their chests, coughing uncontrollably.

Fang Chenyi was also struggling to make sense of the scene before him. There were several suspicious points he couldn’t wrap his head around. The system had already answered his doubts about the Celestial Gods.

’So the biggest remaining mystery is, how did these three suddenly become so powerful?’

’If they were this powerful from the start,’ Fang Chenyi thought, ’it’s simply unbelievable.’ The shocked and incredulous expression he’d seen on Billson’s face was a testament to that.

’But if they weren’t always this strong, then what changed? What’s going on?’

’By all accounts, Qi Xiaotian’s skills are considered world-class. Yet in front of Luo Lanzi, he couldn’t even withstand a single move. And Luo Lanzi clearly wasn’t even using his full strength. That’s just... terrifying.’
