Chapter 750: The Meaning of a Personal Secretary
"Who the hell asked you? Who are you?"
Zhou Haiping yelled furiously, almost wishing he could kick him flying.
"My name is Yang Cheng, I’m General Manager Kong’s personal secretary."
Yang Cheng laughed brightly, then pulled over a chair and smoothly sat down between Kong Lingwen and Zhou Haiping.
Zhou Haiping’s face looked as if he’d eaten something foul. The reason he agreed to meet with Kong Lingwen was because he knew she was a beauty and wanted a taste. Instead, this idiot popped up out of nowhere.
He checked Yang Cheng out, who had the looks of a pretty boy and was Kong Lingwen’s personal secretary. Could there be something between them?
He heard that wealthy young ladies like to keep a man around to ease their loneliness. This guy didn’t look like any kind of secretary, definitely Kong Lingwen’s lover.
She’s just a slut who’s been used up by men. No need to put on airs; if she wants the paperwork done, just sleep with him for a night.
Zhou Haiping cursed silently, his tone also very impatient: "Ms. Kong, what’s your deal? You invite me for a meal, fine, you bring a secretary, but then you let him sit between us? Are you scared I’ll take advantage of you?"
"Of course not. I know some old and ugly men, relying on a bit of power, want to exploit their position for rules circumventing beautiful girls, pretending decently on the surface but filled with dirty thoughts inside. How could Vice Director Zhou be one of those people!"
Yang Cheng smiled slyly, but his tone was full of sarcasm.
Zhou Haiping was so angry his eyes bulged, his face turned liver-colored, he couldn’t manage a word.
Beside them, Kong Lingwen held back her laughter, knowing Yang Cheng’s words were clear digs at Zhou Haiping, yet with the last sentence tacked on, making it hard to lash out.
"Vice Director Zhou, my secretary’s young, doesn’t speak nicely; please don’t take a novice like him seriously."
Kong Lingwen immediately stepped in to mediate.
Furious, Zhou Haiping’s chest heaved. With Kong Lingwen saying that, if he still made a fuss, he’d seem unreasonable.
He wanted to explode in anger, but seeing Kong Lingwen’s beautiful face, he forced it down.
Kong Lingwen was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. If he could sleep with her once, taking a bit of crap wouldn’t matter.
Kong Lingwen then took a exquisite bag from beside her, handing it directly to Zhou Haiping, smiling, "Vice Director Zhou, it’s just a small token of appreciation, nothing valuable. Please accept it."
Zhou Haiping squinted into the bag, seeming to see tea leaves and alcohol, and assumed the box inside was filled with money, thus passed the bag to his spectacled assistant behind him.
"Thank you, Ms. Kong, I won’t stand on ceremony."
He feigned politeness with a smile, not advancing the conversation further.
Kong Lingwen felt speechless, getting right to the point: "Vice Director Zhou, about that issue I’m handling, you see..."
"No rush, as I said earlier, once we have this drink well, everything is negotiable. Frankly, the procedure’s a matter of my word. Young folks like you are too focused on short-term gains, never considering building relationships."
Zhou Haiping hinted pointedly, sticking out his tongue to lick his lips, eager to push hard and pin Kong Lingwen down right now.
"We establish a good relationship, then whatever your company needs would be easier, isn’t that right?"
"Vice Director Zhou is right."
Kong Lingwen’s eyes flashed with disgust, but she had to go along with his words.
Yang Cheng laughed darkly inside, talking about building relationships, like anyone couldn’t see through his mind filled with trashy fantasies!
He leaned forward obstructing Zhou Haiping’s nauseating gaze.
Zhou Haiping frowned, reaching out to push Yang Cheng aside but couldn’t budge him at all, a spark of irritation flaring up, gritting teeth he said, "What’s up with your secretary sitting between Ms. Kong and me? How are we supposed to discuss work?"
"Go ahead and chat, I’m here to keep you company drinking!"
Yang Cheng feigned innocence, raising his glass for a toast.
Zhou Haiping was nearly exploding, glaring at him, stretching his neck he said, "Ms. Kong, perhaps your secretary could join my subordinate at another table, so as not to interrupt us. If you’re allergic to alcohol, we could skip the drinking."
Kong Lingwen’s smile was almost breaking. This old chap was truly hard to bullshit.
"No can do. I’m General Manager Kong’s personal secretary, you know what personal means? It means where she goes, I follow."
Yang Cheng kept eating as he spoke, glued to his chair.
"Is that what a personal secretary means? Don’t tell me you sleep together too?"
Zhou Haiping casually asked.
"Exactly! Without me, General Manager Kong can’t sleep well. You know the Kong Family’s been through a lot recently, I’m here to personally ensure her safety."
Yang Cheng spoke seriously, leaving Kong Lingwen bright red.
Zhou Haiping’s mouth twitched; this guy and Kong Lingwen are indeed having an affair.
Slut! If she’s so desperate for men, might as well just sleep with him; he’ll make sure to screw this little whore.
He cursed inside, thinking Kong Lingwen acts cool but probably finds her own thrills in secret, bound to sleep with him given the right benefits.
"Vice Director Zhou, my drinking limit isn’t the greatest; but to show my sincerity, let me toast you a cup first."
Yang Cheng suddenly stood, lifted his glass, and downed its white wine, putting on quite a show, leaving Zhou Haiping momentarily dumbfounded.
The young chap was still cursing openly just before; abrupt turnarounds often have hidden agendas!
Yang Cheng only just drank off his glass when his face instantly turned red, staggering slightly. Kong Lingwen reached out to steady him.
"Yang Cheng, if you can’t drink, don’t. I can’t carry you back if you get drunk."
Kong Lingwen commented helplessly.
Hearing this, Zhou Haiping’s eyes lit up, sparked with a bad idea.
This guy can’t hold his liquor; if they got him drunk, Kong Lingwen, being a fragile woman, would be his to command.
"Ms. Kong, you’re being unfair; you won’t drink with me nor let your secretary drink either?"
Upon saying this, Zhou Haiping’s bespectacled assistant promptly poured him more alcohol.
Naturally as a secretary, it wouldn’t sit well to let others pour for him, so Yang Cheng filled his own glass, full of bravado saying, "Vice Director Zhou, I toast to you again! Thank you for gracing us with your presence!"
He lifted it for another straight gulp; Zhou Haiping, unable to abstain entirely, sipped a little.
Yang Cheng shook his head inwardly; this man was truly insincere. He’s downed two back-to-back while the guy only had a mere sip.
But there’s no worry of getting drunk; as long as he doesn’t wish it, True Qi would expel the alcohol, practically as harmless as drinking water.
