Luo Baochun certainly knew that Xu Renjie and Lei Tong were trapped by zombies.

But the reality was, with both vehicles moving forward, rescue wouldn’t be guaranteed, and breaking through would be problematic.

Lei Tong understood the urgency, without a word, he reached over for the Tiger’s Fang from Old Xu.

Immediately, the pair rushed upward one behind the other.

Considering the presence of Jumpers and Climbers, a lower floor was not conducive to defense.

Hence, for Old Xu and Lei Tong, the higher they climbed, the safer they were.

Unfortunately, this time luck wasn’t on their side because after climbing two floors, they found out that none of the apartment doors in this building was open.

Retrieving the Pacer zombie climbing on the door, Chao shot the latter’s head off, angrily ordering his men to open the door.

Forced by the approaching creature behind, the thugs moved unusually swiftly, the closest stabbed and sliced through the belt, causing Lei Tong’s door-tying belt to snap into two.

Shortly after, Chao pulled open the iron door and burst inside.

Gunshots downstairs, and the scattered footsteps served as alarm bells for Old Xu and Lei Tong above.

"Damn, persistent spirits!" Lei Tong glanced cautiously down the stair railing.

"Alright, keep going up!" Time was of the essence, since Chao and his men had caught up, Old Xu had only one path left.
