Chapter 819 Territorial Specialties

The third Monday in October.

Today is an absolutely extraordinary day for the two superpowers in the space race.

Today is the time for the two astronauts to return to their respective countries, in accordance with the timetable announced in the final report on the work of the Mars Rescue Plan.

The greatest rescue in human history, spanning tens of millions of kilometres, has come to an end at this moment.

Two astronauts had already been exhausted after so many things along the way.

Jones, formerly of Dutch nationality, returns directly to Amsterdam on flights provided by the Government of the Netherlands, after consultation with the astronauts themselves. As for Johnson, he was originally an American, naturally returning to his homeland on a flight arranged for him by the White House.

Shangjing International Airport.

The Chinese State Protocol Division arranged a solemn handover ceremony.

Standing on the doorstep of a special security corridor, Johnson finally met his lifesaver, who pushed the entire rescue plan forward, and dispatched the Xia Guang to Mars' Lunar Orbital Construction Commission's chief designer ark.

“Thank you," grabbed the right hand of the ark and swayed vigorously, Johnson's throat slightly moving, looking at him with some complicated gaze, not falsely saying, "Thank you for bringing me back from Mars! ”

While standing before him because of his identity and position, he is arguably the biggest competitor of the Ares program and even NASA. But this does not prevent him from extending his highest respect and gratitude to the Ark itself.

“You're welcome,” he shook the astronaut's hand hard, and the ark laughed a little and said, “I'll have a chance later, remember to come here often. ”

“Sure,” loosened the right hand of the ark, Johnson looked at the American diplomat standing next to him, looked at the ark again, took a deep breath and continued, “Well... I'm leaving. ”

“Well, go ahead,” waved the ark, continuing with a smile, "remember to say hello to Mr. Carson for me. ”

“I will bring your greetings to him! ”

When he lit his head down, Johnson lifted his carry-on luggage, turned to the gangway and boarded the plane.

Shortly afterwards, the hatch closed, the ladder retreated and the flight took off.

As the noise of the engine grew farther away, the plane had dragged a white line and disappeared at the end of the sky cloud.

He watched the plane go away, and the boat squinted and was about to turn around and leave.

The American ambassador to China, standing next to him, smiled at him and extended his right hand.

“Thank you, history will remember this moment of friendship for the people of the United States and for everything that has been done for the people of the world. ”

“You're welcome, although we have our differences on Earth, but out of this planet, we are all Earthlings," he shook the ambassador's hand gently, and the ark smiled slightly, "May history be remembered and friendship endure. ”

The ambassador smiled.

“I will! ”

After the handover ceremony, there was also a feast.

Not very good at such occasions, the Ark pushed the banquet to another head of the Mars Rescue Planning Working Group.

As for himself, he returned to his hotel.

While passing through the hotel lobby, the ark borrowed printer equipment from the hotel reception and instructed the reception to take the printer equipment to its own room, then went straight back to its room and pulled out the unfinished paper on the lunar mass projector from the suitcase, sat at the desk for a moment and conceived it and continued to improve along the unfinished part.

In fact, the idea of building a mass accelerator on the moon was not something he had in mind temporarily.

As early as about 12 years ago, NASA had put forward similar ideas and even completed technical arguments, and the relevant papers were publicly available on its official website.

In principle, the acceleration technology used for this facility is similar to that used for magnetic hovering trains.

That is, accelerating ore or spacecraft to disengagement speed through a narrow orbit and electromagnetic acceleration technology, and then directly into the lunar orbit.

Of course, while the whole principle of technology is a matter of words, it is not easy to really want to make it a reality.

As the chief designer of the entire Moon Orbit Construction Committee, it is now up to the Ark to do so, of course, not by drawing detailed drawings of the entire project, but by making an overall assessment of it.

How long does it take to orbit, for example? What is the cost per meter, or budget? Technical feasibility geometry? How risky is that? And most importantly, built on that ring mountain!

Data that may be used throughout the paper have been collected in advance by researchers on the Lunar Palace.

With his current LV5 engineering rating, coupled with his long experience in the position of chief designer of the Moon Orbit Construction Committee, completing the entire thesis is not a difficult task.

Knocked down the last row, the ark clicked down the mouse and selected the option to print.

Soon, the printer that rested next to the table whimpered, and shortly afterwards spit out the paper that emitted the warmth of the ink.

Picking up the printed paper and carefully examining it, just as the ark was starting to feel a little hungry, the door rang with footsteps, and after knocking on the door, Wang Peng, carrying a plastic bag, walked in from the outside.

“Still busy? ”

“Yeah," he dropped the paper in his hand, and the ark noticed what he was carrying, and he asked, “What are you holding? ”

“I went to the headquarters this afternoon and brought you some specialties on the way back. ”

Wang Peng placed what was in his hand on the Ark's desk.

“Roasted duck?” Seeing clearly what was in it, the eyes of the ark suddenly lit up and picked it up with interest, "Good stuff, all German? ”

“Found it,” said Wang Peng, sitting on the couch, smiling. "No big brand is famous, but I personally feel more authentic. ”

“It does smell good enough," ripped the plastic bag and sipped intoxicatingly, looking at the grilled outer crispy roasted duck, the ark laughed and said, "Just in time for dinner, it would be perfect to hear the beer again. ”

Just sitting on the couch, Wang Peng stood up again.

“Whatever brand you drink, I'll buy it for you. ”

“No, no, I'll call the hotel receptionist to give it a few sounds.” Close the bag, pull the drawer off the ark, take out a file bag, and fill in the paper shortly before it comes out of the oven. “I have a few things here, rather than buying alcohol, so I need you to give them to me. ”

Wang Peng didn't ask what he was going to send, he said directly.

“To where? ”

Ark reached out his hand and handed the document bag in his hand to Wang Peng solemnly.

“West of the Palace, Changan Street. ”

“To whom it belongs, you know. ”
