Scholar’s Advanced Technological System

Chapter 1217: The Universe Has Spirituality

Physics is the discipline that studies the most general patterns of material movement and the basic structure of matter.

To make a metaphor that is not accurate enough but sufficiently visual, the universe is like an infinite array similar to [1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13…], and physics is a discipline that studies the laws of this array.

In the early days of scientific sparks, when people were still arguing about 1 and 2, a physicist sitting under an apple tree was fortunate enough to count to 3, and came to the conclusion that "this sequence consists of all natural numbers such as 123456…".

However, with advances in science and technology, the means of observation are also advancing.

At Einstein's, the physicist of the new era quickly discovered that from the fourth place onwards, not 4, but 5, Newton's summarised laws applied only in the first three —— the so-called macro conditions.

To make his theory seem more convincing, he has been observing the seventh place, the number 13. Then, on the basis of the observed phenomenon, a conclusion was drawn:

[In this array describing the universe, except that the first digit is a unique number “1”, the following number should consist of primes such as "2, 3, 5, 7, 11, 13, 17, 19…”.

Smart kids should have discovered that relativity, standard models, quantum mechanics, and so on are a series of highly unpredictable theories, in fact, this is the kind of thing.

It describes a world beyond the fourth digit that is invisible to the average person and that can only be observed with professional equipment.

That is, what is commonly referred to as the “micro world”.

More fortunate than the scholar sitting under the Apple tree, Einstein saw only the seventh place in this series for reasons limited by the times, but his theory worked until the ninth place.

According to the "law” he had summarized —— the so-called “standard model” -- two numbers, 17 and 19, were successfully observed, and a series of treasures, such as Higgs particles, gravitational waves, and so on, were kept in his arms.

Everything is so beautiful.

Unfortunately, that luck is not unlimited.

As technology continues to advance, the Lunar Johnson Collider allows people to see numbers larger than 19, widening their horizons to more microscopic worlds than micro worlds and even other dimensions...

At this point, one is surprised to find that the tenth digit after 19, in this series describing the universe, is not 23. Not even in the next eleventh, not at all 29.

Even the 23 and 29 numbers do not appear in this series at all, but instead a series of numbers that have no law at all and do not make any sense.

Even it's not numbers at all, it's something like abcd.

Can you find patterns in all the columns?

That's not true.

It's like a series of irrational numbers.

To describe its laws, I'm afraid it has to be as informative as it is…

Professor Milo's theory of the “Spirit of the Universe”, while it sounds like some sort of god's nonsense, is in fact not describing God Almighty.

What he really wanted to say was that there was such a body of consciousness in this universe that it organized everything in the universe according to its own subjective consciousness.

It's like a kid with a branch in his hand, humming a song that only he understands, writing a meaningless number on the beach.

And the ants on the ground, according to their behavioral logic, think about what the numbers on the ground mean and why they're there.

Instead, he promoted the “Spirit of the Universe” doctrine.

Instead, it's "the universe has a spirit”...

……

For the physics community, this day is absolutely a dark moment.

Collision experiments in the TEV + energy zone are like black holes, confiscating the efforts of geo-civilizational physicists over the past century. Both string theory and Big Bang theory seem to have been swallowed up by this black hole.

Looking at the images on the computer, Professor Witten pondered for a long time and suddenly sighed.

“It's like we've spent half a century studying the laws of the universe, and it turns out that there's no such thing as a law. ”

Still staring at what looked almost bizarre data, the Ark answered casually.

“Feeling unacceptable? ”

Witten said in a serious tone, not knowing if it was a joke or a serious tone.

“It's harder to accept, I even kind of want to retire. ”

Ark: “Don't think so, it's hard not to beat us, but if you retire, it's definitely a loss for us. ”

“How? There are a lot of good young physicists out there, and I don't think their future accomplishments will be any worse than mine. ”

Professor Witten laughed and the voice suddenly brought some emotion.

“Besides, I'm almost my age, and I was thinking about this about three or four years ago, and I could even say that if it weren't for your invitation to IMCRC, I'd probably be sun-fishing on a Hawaiian island by now. ”

“Really? I'm sorry about that. ”

“Ha ha, no need to be sorry, in fact I should thank you, I would definitely miss a lot of interesting things if it wasn't for your invitation. ”

At this point, Professor Witten noticed the formulas that the ark had written on the draft paper, and suddenly his eyebrows lifted with interest.

“Are you still obsessed with that theory of extra dimensions? ”

“Kind of. ”

“With all due respect, there seems to be no essential difference between this and the theory of the universe. ”

“There is still a lot of difference,” pinched the tip of the pen in his hand, stayed on the paper for a while, and the ark thought to say, “At least I can prove it mathematically. ”

This time, Professor Witten's face showed a strange look, as if he were saying, "How is this possible?"

However, the Ark did not make any more representations about his confusion, but only if he spoke pointedly.

“Normally, we're in a box, and it's impossible to see the world outside the box. Except in one case. Remember Schrödinger's cat? ”

“Schrödinger's cat? Wait, you mean--”

The cloudy pupils suddenly opened a few points, Professor Witten had written in confused divine colors, suddenly a strong excitement.

“That's right, you might have guessed that,” the ark laughed, turned the pen in his hand, and continued, "You can imagine us as the cat in the box, and for the world out of the box, everything we do is a chaotic superposition. And now, somebody opened the box and watched us. ”

“Everything is not planned in advance. ”

“But because of observations from outside the universe, the superposition that we are in collapses, and it becomes a reality that we now see. ”

Looking at his eyebrows locked into contemplative Professor Waiten, the Ark continued.

“There is no spirit in the universe that we cannot know, and no one has the right to define its existence or not. ”

“But one thing I can almost confirm is that something outside the box is waving at us. ”

Witten: “But it... or they, why do it? ”

“I don't know, maybe only it itself knows,” the ark shook its head gently, continuing, "perhaps to seek help from us, perhaps just to declare its existence to us. ”

“Whatever they seek, however, for us in the box, this should not be a disaster, but a great opportunity. ”

“An opportunity to learn more about voids. ”

At this point, there was a sudden rush of footsteps outside the office.

After hearing the footsteps, the ark and Waiten stopped at the same time, looking in the direction of the door.

The knocking sounded as expected, and the ark had not come yet to say come in, so the door opened.

“Sorry! Something very, very serious has happened! ”

Looking at Brother Luo, who appeared nervous behind the door, the expression on the face of the ark slightly hesitated.

“What happened? ”

“It's Professor Milo! ”

Taking a deep breath, Rowenxuan stabilized his breath.

Looking at the two people who locked their eyes on themselves, he shouted the words that made everyone's mood fall to the bottom of the valley.

“... he's dead. ”
