Faye Yardley couldn’t care less about the old ghost’s attitude. She opened the small pouch. Inside were two pieces of wedding candy and two wedding cakes—nothing more.

She stashed them directly into her backpack.

Following the crowd further in, she saw the bridal sedan had stopped. The curtain lifted on its own, and the bride just floated out.

’How very characteristic.’

Faye Yardley followed the stream of people to the wedding venue.

The surrounding chill was gradually becoming tangible. She could even see icicles starting to form on the people beside her.

’Did I really have to attend this wedding?’

Amid the festive music, a sharp cry suddenly pierced everyone’s eardrums.

"Bow!"

"The couple shall bow to each other!"

*Sob, sob, sob...*

"Bow!"

"The couple shall bow again!"

*Sob, sob, sob...*

As the bride sobbed, the surrounding temperature plunged ever lower.

Faye Yardley suddenly felt that spending points on a temperature-regulating suit had been a very wise decision.

Amidst the chorus of congratulations from all around, the scene began to freeze over.

"Meow~"

The chill wasn’t just a physical attack, but a Magic one, too. It was capable of freezing a person’s very Spirit.

The bride and groom then suddenly took flight, soaring toward the crowd. Many people shattered the instant the couple touched them, turning into piles of ice shards on the ground.

Yet, the sounds of blessings and laughter from men, women, and children still filled her ears, and the music of suonas and drums never ceased.

As they drew near Faye Yardley, both the bride and groom paused. Although she couldn’t see their faces clearly, Faye could distinctly feel their disgust.

They avoided her and moved on to the other tourists, as if they were enthusiastically going to offer a toast.

’Tsk. It seems no matter the attraction, the ultimate goal is always to kill you.’

But why the people around her were so happily sending themselves to their deaths was something Faye Yardley couldn’t understand.

Once the pair of "newlyweds" had passed by, Faye Yardley felt she could move freely again.

She had no intention of staying for the rest of the ceremony, much less for the banquet, so she turned and headed for the exit.

The old ghost from the registration desk abruptly materialized in front of her, blocking her path.

"Guest, the wedding isn’t over, and you haven’t eaten at the banquet. There’s no need to be in such a hurry to leave."

Faye Yardley chuckled. "So enthusiastic. You won’t let me leave if I don’t eat? What do you say—besides an Exorcism Talisman, do you think I might have an even more powerful talisman on me?"

The old ghost fell silent.

’I, an old ghost, was actually threatened by a human today. If word of this got out, would I have any dignity left?’

It suddenly drifted a large step closer. "Guest, it would be better to wait until the wedding is over."

’Maybe I can help the Master test the effects of the Golden Light Talisman,’ Faye Yardley thought. ’If it works well, I suppose I could part with that bottle of red tree juice I’ve been saving for them.’

With that thought, she casually took it out. The old ghost immediately shot back several large steps.

"Since our guest doesn’t wish to stay, then..."

The old ghost had planned on just letting Faye Yardley leave.

But then, a crowd of imps popped up from god-knows-where and surrounded her, along with ghouls of all shapes and sizes. Faye Yardley let out a laugh. "I didn’t realize you were all so hospitable. You don’t want me to leave? Fine. Let’s play."

To be honest, after everything she’d been through, the prospect of an unknown battle now filled her with fighting spirit.

She wasn’t the least bit afraid of being outmatched.

It was just that these Phantoms seemed different from the purely physical attackers she was used to.

"Scatter and let her go. Our guest is in a hurry, so don’t keep her." The old ghost had wanted to attack Faye Yardley back at the registration desk, but it had felt a mysterious suppression, a sense that it couldn’t use its full power against her.

’And since she claims to have a talisman that fills me with dread, I’m certainly not going to take any risks,’ it thought.

As for the other Phantoms wanting to test the waters, it was more than happy to let them.

Besides, the more it objected, the more brainless they would become.

Sure enough, as soon as it finished speaking, the Phantoms swarmed in. The old ghost’s figure continued to retreat.

Just then, The Ghost Bride, clad in her blood-red wedding dress, came floating over, sobbing all the while.

The instant the Phantoms swarmed and attacked her, the Golden Light Talisman passively activated. A blinding golden light erupted within the dark-red domain. Any weaker Phantoms that drew near were instantly vaporized. Even those with a bit more power could no longer maintain their forms and let out ear-piercing wails.

The golden light also pierced The Ghost Bride’s wedding gown, causing wisps of black smoke to rise from it.

Her sobbing faltered.

As for Faye Yardley, the instant the Golden Light Talisman activated, the Cat Cat Ring on her finger randomly teleported her away.

’This ring from the small jewelry auction seems to have pretty high activation requirements.’

’It didn’t activate during the intense fight with the Frantic Oak Barrels, yet it triggered now.’

’The teleport distance is three kilometers. Logically, I should be out of the amusement park, right? Or on the other side of it, at least.’

But in reality, looking at the dark surroundings and the flickering, eerie blue specks of light, Faye Yardley was certain she was still inside the haunted house.

At least she had definitely left the scene with The Ghost Bride.

’This haunted house is huge.’

’How am I supposed to find the correct exit?’

Despite these thoughts, Faye Yardley wasn’t flustered. After all, she had complete confidence in her own Luck.

’I’ll definitely find the right way out.’

She didn’t take out the Luminous Pearl again. She had figured out that in a place like this, any unusual light would trigger some unforeseen change.

She simply picked a random direction and began to walk. As she went, funeral music suddenly broke the silence.

"Heeeey, yai-yai-yaaa~ Who goes there? State your name! Cooome!"

Ahead on the path stood a figure wielding a Crescent Blade and wearing a cloth cap. Though the space was incredibly dark, Faye Yardley just knew he was dressed in a Military General Robe.

He was blocking her path.

Faye Yardley didn’t break her stride, but Light Wound had already appeared in her right hand.

"Come! Fight!"

With a flourish of his Crescent Blade, the large man lunged forward.

CLANG!

Their blades collided in an instant.

’He’s solid!’

Faye Yardley was instantly on high alert, but her own attacks were still aimed to kill, and she fired a Crossbow Arrow at every opportunity.

The large man had expected an easy victory, but the fight had suddenly devolved into a war of attrition. He found himself on the losing end, and the fight was becoming incredibly frustrating.

’My Strength is suppressed by at least a tenth. This girl is uncanny.’

In contrast to him, Faye Yardley grew more and more excited the longer she fought, the beating of her heart growing more vigorous and powerful.

Though she was thrilled, her mind grew ever clearer.

"Heroine, how about a truce?"

"You want to fight when you want to fight and stop when you want to stop? You wish! In your dreams!" As she spoke, Faye Yardley’s attacks became faster, heavier, and more ruthless, forcing the large man into a steady retreat.
