Lynn Thorne had raised her son, Leah Sutton, well since he was a child. He wasn’t spoiled or wild and loved sharing with his friends.

Leah played with Miles for a long time. When he remembered he had to go home for dinner, he tugged on Miles’s arm and said, "Miles, why don’t you come to my house for dinner tonight!"

Miles glanced at him and asked quietly, "Is your new dad nice to you?"

"Of course he is!"

"So who do you think is better? Your real dad or your new dad?"

"My new dad, of course!" Leah Sutton answered without a second thought.

"Why?"

"My real dad wasn’t nice to my mom. He was always fighting with her and making her cry, and he was hardly ever home. But my new dad is different. He makes my mom laugh and tells me stories... Anyway, my new dad is really, really great!" Leah Sutton rattled on, listing all the good things about Leo Jarvis.

"I’m so jealous!"

Leah happily invited Miles to his house, but Miles refused.

So Leah had to go home by himself. When he saw Georgia Thorne, he ran over happily. "Aunt Georgia, you’re here!"

"Leah, go wash your hands for dinner. Everyone’s waiting for you!"

Lynn Thorne gently chided Leah. He mumbled an "oh," went to wash his hands, and then sat down next to Georgia Thorne, looking curiously at Elliot Sheridan.

He tugged on Georgia Thorne’s sleeve. "Aunt Georgia, who’s this man?"

Elliot Sheridan frowned at Leah Sutton. He hadn’t realized the "Leah" Georgia Thorne was always talking about was someone else’s child.

"I’m your aunt’s husband, so who does that make me?" Elliot Sheridan teased the boy. ’He has such delicate features,’ Elliot thought. ’He’s actually quite cute.’

Leah was still young, after all, and couldn’t quite process it. He asked blankly, "Are you my Uncle-Grandpa?"

The moment the title left his lips, Elliot Sheridan’s face darkened, and everyone else couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Georgia Thorne laughed the hardest, seeming truly amused by Leah’s words.

Elliot Sheridan was fuming, but Leo Jarvis quickly tried to soothe him. "Mr. Sheridan, kids say the darndest things! Kids say the darndest things!"

Leah watched everyone laugh, completely baffled. ’Auntie’s husband... isn’t he an Uncle-Grandpa?’

’Did I say something wrong?’

"From now on, you should call him Uncle, understand?"

’Uncle-Grandpa. People would have a field day with that.’

’I got a new dad and an uncle today,’ he thought. ’I have to tell Miles later.’

The family enjoyed a happy dinner, with the only interruption being Leah, who would occasionally pester Elliot Sheridan with a question or two.

Elliot Sheridan was able to answer all of them, and the more he looked at Leah, the more he liked the boy.

To be honest, he used to despise children. ’They’re little demons, all they do from the moment they’re born is cry and make a fuss.’

Take when Selena Sheridan was born, for example. The whole family revolved around her, but Elliot Sheridan only found it irritating.

He even moved out for a while because of it. Elliot’s only impression of Selena Sheridan’s childhood was of crying and tantrums.

It wasn’t until Selena grew up and stopped crying that Elliot finally started to find her more agreeable.

After dinner, Georgia Thorne gave Leah the toy she had bought.

Leah’s eyes lit up. He threw his arms around Georgia Thorne and planted a big kiss on her cheek. "Thank you, Aunt Georgia!"

Georgia Thorne didn’t want to take the credit, since Elliot Sheridan was the one who paid for it. "Go thank your Uncle. He’s the one who bought it for you!"

This was the first time Georgia Thorne had acknowledged Elliot Sheridan as her husband in front of Lynn Thorne and her family.

Elliot Sheridan was naturally pleased to hear this. He glanced at her, the corners of his eyes crinkling with a smile.

"Thank you, Uncle!" Now that he had the toy he had been dreaming of, his words were as sweet as honey.

Looking at Elliot Sheridan from this angle, Leah suddenly found him a bit familiar. A lightbulb went off in his head. "Uncle, you’re the man Auntie was secretly looking at!"

Leah suddenly blurted this out, startling Georgia Thorne, who immediately clapped a hand over his mouth to keep him from saying more.

Elliot Sheridan, however, was grinning. "When was your aunt secretly looking at me?" ’How did I not know about this?’ he wondered.

Leah Sutton tried to speak, but with Georgia Thorne’s hand clamped firmly over his mouth, all that came out were muffled sounds. "MMPH! MMPH!"

Georgia Thorne whispered a warning, "Don’t you dare say another word, or Auntie will take away your toy!"

"Uncle gave me Optimus Prime! You can’t take it away, Auntie!"

"That’s right, Leah," Elliot chimed in. "You tell your uncle when your aunt was secretly watching me and where it happened. In return, Uncle will buy you an Optimus Prime that’s as tall as you are. How about it?"

The temptation Elliot Sheridan offered was more than just a lure; it was a sugar-coated bombshell that completely stunned Leah. "Really?"
